Should have played Fred and the bloke who decided the day before a must win game was the time to get his agent to make another 'come get me' plea.
No. Fred is suspended so I’m not sure what you’re even saying. I mean play VdB and a defensive midfielder. If you want, I’ll quote my post before the game to show you that I’m not flip-flopping.

Apparently not. This is why, as much as I love Ole for 1999 and all that, he is not qualified to be United manager and has proven this and i don't think we will win things with him.. In the big games, we lose. And by that I mean semi finals. The way we set up is down to Ole. When we had the issues with Mourinho and Pogba, we got rid of the wrong man.
we certainly have not improved since jose left

Yeah and it does my head in. As I posted in another thread: Mistakes are alright, shit happens, but repeat mistakes are unforgivable, and he did this about 7 times against Brighton (to mention just one game). Why's no one having a go at him the second time he does it? It's such a simple thing to fix, you don't have to be good at football to stand in roughly the right area if you're paying attention.
Yeah he just seems to get to far wrong one way or the other, he has all the minerals to be a great defender just lacks the tactical side. He reminds me a lot on Micah Richards.

From two years on charge its clear OGS cannot tactically manage us to get a result in a one off situation.

Being generous to Matic, more like a 2 at best, Greenwood should have passed to Rash when 1-0 down, for that he deserves a lower rating.

Half time VDB for Matic & Pogba for Telles. Get control in the middle of the pitch. Revert to a back 4. After about 65 mins bring Mata on to create and maybe nick a goal. We’ve been unlucky to have two of our four forwards out injured too.

Utterly shambolic 45 mins of football. I still have no idea why we were tactically manhandled in first 20 mins, we have 7 defensive players so how did Leipzig keep making so much space for themselves in final third?!

WanB has had perhaps the worst half of football I’ve seen in a long time; but then our forwards were also utter w@nk be so selfish and having rubbish finishing. Our entire team in general looks heavy legged, and utterly confused, why I have no idea.

ole has to go 4231, bring on Pogba and Matic and deliver his greatest ever half time talk. And then we go for it.

it’s still possible but I fear RBL will score again.
Agreed, we gotta go for it and tbh if RB score again call it a night and see out an awful defeat.

We are still in this. Not too many clear opportunities but we were starting to probe for the last 15 minutes. If only Mason took that chance at 1-0.

The ref is having a really bad game and their persistent fouling is so fecking annoying.

Id like to see Donny and Pogba for Shaw and Matic.

I think we can still get a result here.
I think we can get a draw.
RBL might not be great in the last 20 minutes and I know that we will be great in the last 20 minutes.
We do most of our damage the further we go into the game.

    This team!

This is the kind of match where you want to look out at the team and fell confident that you have a core of players you can rely on to give a solid performance and rise to the occasion.

Bruno is the only one of these shits I have any faith in.

    Two teams playing with wing-backs.

RB Leipzig's WB's are almost as high as our CB's on their counter.
United's WB's are almost as deep as our own CB's on our counter.

It's stretching the hell out of our defence. We can't cope with the overload.

We play like Jekyl and Hyde, so it's quite possible that we play in the 2nd half, completely differently to how we played in the 1st half.
The main thing is that we have to get Bruno on the ball. I'm not sure if RBL are focusing on putting players on him because they know that if they stop Bruno, they stop MUFC.
What do you mean by Jekyl and Hyde? We look more like Punch and Judy.

Sideways backwards sideways rinse repeat. No movement. No options. Pathetic first half
Wholly predictable when you set your team up with five defenders and two defensive midfielders. Can you imagine the Leipzig dressing room, the manager will be showing the players that line up and saying, go for it. While the messages to our players will be negative, keep it tight, no freedom.

We don’t have good defenders, all if them are not good enough for a top team!
I actually think - and I know most people here will disagree - Lindelof is our best defender. at least he reads the game

We can do this but why can’t we defend anymore
They were so much more aggressive than us in the 1st 20mins

Are we ever going to have a manager that coaches attractive, hardworking football I to our club.
Ole usually gets a shift from our players.

What I don't like about Ole is our lack of tactical nous, the basic play and over reliance on Bruno.

Look at how Leipzig constructed their two goals. Massive difference. Most of our chances came from unforced errors such as Konaté (I think) over running the ball. That lead to the Greenwood chance early on.

The shocked us first 15 min. Agressive and their movement was to much for us. From that we have been able to take over and controling game. Should have scored atleast 1. Bissaka is having nightmare. Fault for both goals.
Thing is it shouldn’t shock us, it’s a crucial game that they have to win, we should be on it from the whistle.

Feeling like this at half time has become normal. Somehow this season I’ve not often felt like it at full time but today feels different. It matters way more today. Just please come out fighting so I have one less thing to shout at the TV about.

That was one of the worst performances in a half in the whole season. We will still get chances so everyone needs to sort their shit second half.
I think we were worse a few days ago, in the first half.

Playing defenders against no striker ffs. Why is AWB always going next to his defender and leaving the left attacker with acre of space?

Appalling. The cnut of a ref isn't helping but he's the least of our worries. So narrow yet easy to play through, the out-ball to left hand side destroyed us three times with AWB completely lost and nobody doing their jobs infield to snuff out their crosses. In possession it's tragic, every player is signalling for movement and throwing their hands up because nothing is happening ahead of them, barring a few good quick balls played forwards that have been wasted by the forwards. Mistakes, confusion and what looks like poor drilling evident all over the pitch.

I don't suppose you can ever say never with us away from home, but we need a complete turn around in every aspect. This has been a truly embarrassing spectacle at this level for us so far.

Fair play to Lepizig though, both their goals were class. No doubt we slept a bit in defense but those were some really good attacks from them.

Ole has to change it up in 2nd half though. Telles and AWB have been awful as wingbacks so one of them has to be hooked off so we can go 4 at the back. Midfield of Matic and McTomminay has not worked at all, been completely dominated

Bruno, Rashford and Greenwood have all been sloppy when it mattered the most.

Wan Bissaka with a legit 1/10 so far.

Do our players know that the first 15 minutes are also part of the match? They regularly seem to treat it as some sort of warm-up.

    Red Card for Casemiro!
This game has been about slim margins - we've had our chances and not taken them. The ref is adding to the frustration by making me-me-me decisions and trying to be the star of the show.

Rashford and Greenwood not been sharp enough when the chances fell to them, and AWB has been abysmal defensively - which is an issue because he isn't really good going forward.

That being said - we get one, we get two. There is a belief about this team, and we were still creating chances.
