You dont see the build up that led to those shots.

In isolation looks purely poor batting. It wasnt.
I did say it was a poor pitch. But it was also poor batting from both the team. I have seen much worse pitch than this which went 3 days comfortably.

This has been a poor pitch but not the worst by any means.

In the end though India used their home advantage to turn the series around and that's all that matters . People moaning all the time about pitches & umpires are just bad losers
I think you'll find that most Indians here are not defending the pitch.

However you were complaining about the pitch in last match so that's why everyone thinks you're a clown.

I like how each test match starts with harmless cricketing discussion and as we move towards a conclusion everyone starts abusing eachother.

Definetly a bit of a let down of a series so far for a variety of reasons that we can all disagree on.

I don't even know how you prepare a pitch that is this spin friendly...

Plenty of pitches have no grass.. there are no cracks.. it looks fine.. it has got to be the ball.. right?

The next test on a similar pitch will make things clearer.

I have seen the pink ball move insane amounts for the first 20-ish overs on green pitches.. and I mean insane amounts that makes no sense. The ball is probably the biggest x-factor here.

So what I've gathered is a criticism of the pitch is a criticism of the whole of India and everything its about
If that's what you have gathered then you are very poor at it. Majority Indian fans here have said it's a poor pitch. If ICC even docks points I wouldn't be surprised.

India knocking these off without loss/1 or 2 down should kick start a new argument aswell so i'll start warming myself up for that.

It's a bad pitch. Neither team can bat on it.

Hope the next one is better.

Its all friendly banter. As long as you don't go around insulting one another.

Or maybe that will prove rohit has been the best batsmen in these conditions. Still a game finishing in 2 days is not good.

Have to say, it's disappointing that India have produced the wickets that have been used for the second and third test. If they're as good as all the pundits say they are, they shouldn't need to prepare dustbowls to win.

That said, most countries around the world produce home wickets when they need to get a result. England have certainly produced plenty of seamers when they've needed to beat tough opponents down the years, and that's not right either. The ICC need to look at taking control of pitch preparation themselves IMO.

No point England moaning about it - they just need to find a method of playing on this kind of surface because the next one will be exactly the same.

Last pitch I didn't really see much of a problem with and I thought the issue was England not really being able to play on pitches that are conducive to spin.

But to have a Test Match not last 2 whole days is a major issue.

Also here's a target for India

81-10 is above the match average against spin, so really I think we should be talking about how well England batted.

England aren't moaning about it, at least not publicly yet anyway. It's all the ex pro's and some fans that are.

Last three pink ball tests India have played have finished in 7 days combined including this one.

One of them was 36 all out.

Yeah I care a lot about what random idiots on redcafe think about me . The pitch in the last match was shit and just because this is worse doesn't make that any better. I have at no point said that India shouldn't make such pitches but it just ruins the watching experience for me . Indian fans have spent all their energy in this thread attacking England fans and moaning about the moaning of England fans which is ironic really .

Nah most of the people here are fine. Just four or five clowns like you have gone deep into conspiracy zone. It's like talking to Alex Jones.

Also, it's not a great look to reopen the ground to fans and then leave them without cricket for the last three days.

The pitch debacle will distract but fact of the matter is England badly got their selection wrong in this match. Playing a long tail at 8 and not having 2 frontline spinners was a joke all things considered.

I feel for the fans buying tickets for 3rd, 4th and 5th day. Hopefully they are refunded.
One of the posters here had tickets for 3-4th day I think. It'll be refunded.

That's a good point. Simon Hughes is doing a really good segment on the pink ball on C4 right now for those in the UK.

I went to the Oval 2018, saw Cook get a 100, saw Root bat incredibly well. And then watched India lose three wickets in a few overs. At least, the Indians in Ahmedabad enjoy a win.

I went to that, great day out. Fell off my chair in a pub later that night and broke my nose.

Sorry, don't know what you're on about mate. If I've committed some heinous act of hypocrisy I'll live with it.

I can only find one previous pink ball test on the subcontinent and it was Ishant and Yadav who bowled out Bangladesh. India declared on 347/9.
