-Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
-They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
- So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Had a friend say he thinks that was a group/person using the golden Trump thingy as a mockery of the religious right.

This golden statue of Trump at CPAC is a perfect metaphor for the state of the GOP
Apparently CPAC attendees missed the part of the Bible about the Golden Calf.

This CPAC ‘golden calf’ Trump statue is spurring backlash of biblical proportions
Comments like ‘the GOP worship a golden crook’ spread across Twitter faster than you can say ‘Moses’

It's not such a terrible idea. Elect the Statue, it will lie less, steal less and probably has as much chance of Making America Great Again.

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/watch-q...yanmar-like-military-coup-to-reinstall-trump/

“This whole thing is Biden, he’s like a puppet president,” the first woman insisted. “The military is in charge. It’s going to be like Myanmar, what’s happening in Myanmar. The military is doing their own investigation. At the right time they’re going to be restoring the republic with Trump as president.”

“What’s going on in Myanmar?” another woman wearing a Trump hat echoed. “The government took over and they’re redoing the election. You know why? Because the election was stolen from us!”
The right in the US is just waiting for an intelligent, charismatic, open fascist to rise to the top and that will be that.

My brain can't get pregnant!

Blames Trump for January 6th insurrection, but says he can't be held accountable in impeachment trial because he's no longer president.

Now says this bullshiit.

By far the most toxic and dangerous man in D.C.

I'm not one for wishing harm on anyone, but hopefully both the turtle scrote and fascist tangerine choke by then.

He’ll start clamoring for Florida to have far less restrictive guidelines for his events in the state.

Watching his speech at CPAC is actually kind of sad. How so many people voted for someone who's grasp of reality is about as secure as Bielsas heart rate.

"The supreme court didn't have the guts to do what should've been done"

Noooo, absolutely no authoritarianism folks. It's all freedom and liberty from this speech.

oh for crying out loud, he's still claiming "hundreds of thousands of votes" beyond the population of entire states were added to the count.

He can't get over it. His entire speech is all about the judicial system not "having the guts" to give him the election illegally, punishing the RINO's and outright conspiracies.
Just feeds into the conspiracy nonsense. Like you said....sets a very dangerous precedent (“president”).

Conspiracies, vendettas, authoritarianism. The modern GOP represented in a hour long incoherent rant about personal grievances.

and finishing off with the crowd dancing to YMCA
that was the first time i've listened to trump speak since the riot, my god....the way he speaks, as in the literal way he forms a verbal sentence, doesn't seem to be human. It's so mangled and incoherent. I could feel a headache coming on.

Did he officially declare his candidacy for 2024?
no and yes. No commitment to being the nominee but when 2024 was mentioned he went into this weird comedy routine where he said "the 2024 republican nominee....oh i wonder who that will be"

About to spew his load at CPAC

Every time I listen to him speak I just don't get it. Its incoherent and sloppy but most of all low energy. I kind of "get" Hitler, for example, in terms of the situation in Germany at the time but most of all his undoubted ability and energy as an orator. If we are talking in terms of 'cult' leaders then Trump is honestly the one that I really don't understand how anyone could listen to him, and be inspired to follow him or his ideas. He really has no charisma or ability going for him, in my mind, that makes him the type of appealing that other cult leaders clearly have. All I can really attribute it to is that he is simply the main benefactor of years of Gingrich and Stone propaganda, but then why him and not some other more charismatic republican leader?

Looking at the Dublin protests the other day, is this a sign that the 'anti' movement is not only done with intelligence but also done with charisma? Are we now at the stage where instead of the uneducated being enticed by the intelligent, charismatic leader they are now looking for a literal powerful representation of themselves?

It is quite surreal but he does actually have charisma if you look at other politicians. Spouting lies which his base lap up are never really called out directly to him if so are just brushed away as ‘fake news’.

He has basically turned politics into a soap/game show and by him giving racists and conspiracy theorists a political option too as well as people being pissed off by the lies and corruption of career politicians who preceded him.

So would you say kind of the reality TV president? Basically a kind of inevitability of dumbed down overall entertainment and culture?

I think so personally and it will only continue when the likes of Oprah, The Rock are touted as possible future nominees. They say that Trump first thought about it by watching Jesse Ventura who became the Governor of Minnesota and who he knew through the WWE.

Ventura is a good talker with a load of charisma I guess which goes a long way.

Makes a lot of sense and is scary but maybe less scary than the actual Trump type that is actually competent. Maybe more scary in terms of the direction that humanity seems to be taking. Seems that 50% are striving to become smarter and progress while the other don't even want to stay the same but rather want to regress completely.

We had an anti-mask/lockdown protest in Dublin a couple of days ago and a few of my old classmates were prominent in it and without trying to be a dickhead I know first hand that they barely know how to dress themselves. I wonder what the end game is, are they more dangerous because they have no context of the consequences and seem unable to plan a real revolt or are they a joke because they lack the intelligent leader? I think the first one but it would be stupid to ignore the growing influence in many nations.
