I was quite confident we'd win (I expected a 3-0) and maybe we could have if Maguire and James had scored, but that's football. I'm very disappointed by the result and even more by the performance. I'd say the result flatters us a little.

Milan did very well. They played with energy, and we're able to maintain it to the dying moments of the game.

We were very slow in the build up, too susceptible to their pressing and lacked creativity going forward. The lack of a good center forward has hurt us this season, and Rashford's absence meant there was no threat from the wings.

The substitutions were poor. Bringing on defenders with a few minutes go, to defend a one goal lead is just inviting pressure and playing with fire, and we've been burnt by this too often.

The only positives I can think of is Bruno being capable of moments of magic no matter how bad we've been overall, and Amad scoring. Beautiful and not the kind of goal you'd expect from him. Seems talented and smart, the way he timed the run and played the header. Hope to see more of and from him.

We've been better away from home and are very unpredictable so I haven't given up yet, but this first leg was really poor.

Dominated at home by Milan. We're never wining big titles unless we learn to play front foot football. Right now we're wasting time not doing it.

Why would what happened have any bearing on how DdG is perceived?

Too early to judge Henderson, but even if he doesn't make the grade, it may just mean we need to buy a keeper.

Ole mentioned something about having a template in playing these games. And that he fully expects us to turn it around in the next leg. I hope he is right.

Very difficult with defensive right back and two midfielders that are not very good at passing. Fred and McTom.

Why wasn't handball given here? Play waved on and from it Milan got the corner they scored from.

We'd need new coaches for that. It should be clear to everyone by now that front foot football is not what Carrick/McKenna/Solskjaer want to do - they are much more comfortable with the counterattack (with a bit of sporadic pressing here and there).

Nothing wrong with that necessarily, but it's what we are. Don't expect possession football or intricate passing from the likes of Bailly, AWB, McTominay, Fred and James sitting in two banks of four in a Solskjaer-coached team!

Bar the goal and the synchronised sliding from Bailly and Telles it was a poor performance, we just don't look like we can pick a well drilled defensive team apart.
Just watched highlight and going to watch the taped game. Looks like we were lucky not to conceded earlier, despite 2 VAR advantage. Had we won it would have been a very lucky win, so a draw was in fact a fair result to the neutral.

I like our confidence about getting second place in the League. No other reason we didn't turn up for this game.

It's deemed as accidental for some reason. Ref was right there, and soon afterward waving to play on.
He slapped the ball down with his arm, ref wasn't up with the play, he was in the other half when incident happened.

I’m sure someone here has the information about percentage completed passes. It certainly seems to me that if you pass the ball to the opposition or into an empty space that your chance of progressing up the field is slim. We have to do better ——actually it wouldn’t take much to be better!!
Delighted for Amad.

Not overly bothered to be honest! Europa does nothing for me and will kill our league and FA Cup chances if we keep progressing! Play the kids in Milan
We don't have any league chances, so the Europa League is one of two chances at a trophy or it's another trophyless season where we didn't even come close to winning the big trophies.

Why wasn't there a freekick for the obvious handball 40 seconds before their equaliser?
The referee saw it and allowed the play to continue. I think it's because it was an unintentional ricochet in a non-goal incident. Not sure what the handball rules are these days since they keep changing it but the referee saw it and made some sort of sign that it wasn't a foul touch according to the rules.

De Gea conceded many goals like that in recent seasons, in addition to the numerous howlers he's made as well. And it's not in de Gea's repertoire to even dream of a throw/distribution like Henderson provided to Shaw against City, so I will take Henderson over current de Gea every time.

Henderson should have saved, but Milan still got less than deserved. United were awful tonight.

Also true. There isn't really a difference between finishing 2nd and finishing 4th. It Solskjaer wants to rest players in the league the moment top 4 looks secure, I don't think it's the worst idea in the world.

I hate the away goals rule. It makes not conceding at home basically the most important thing. A 1-0 at home is far better than a 2-1 so the obvious thing to do just sit back. Makes for negative football from the team that should be looking to dominate the match; the home team.

Would you be saying this if we went through on away goals?!

I'm fairly sure this will be a tough task now. We need to go to the San Siro and score so Milan will sit back and we'll have to break them down - which is what we struggle with.

Poor enough performance against an average team. 1-0 would have been some result if we’d managed it considering the amount of players we’re missing

Ole's miss-management of going hard into every competitions, instead of prioritizing, is starting to show. Players fitness and performance are starting to drop. Have been drumming this, but some folks just couldn't understand. Although understandably, us here are all just fans. But how Ole couldn't see this, is telling.
But didnt Ole say we will be the fittest and furthest running team every match when he took over? It seems he cant even practice what he preaches

My friends that are AC Milan fans are fairly happy with the game overall. They were expecting to be demolished. Hopefully we will not disappoint them in the second game.

We've played our best football by far since SAF under Ole, in my view. So no.
I wish I could share that optimism. For one good game two bad ones follow under Ole. And by bad I mean really really bad. Our bottom level under him is incrdible. Decided to take a break from football for a bit. It's not good for my mood

Personally I don’t really think that equaliser changed much. We needed to turn up in Milan either way and likely needed to score too so really we just have give a far better display than last night.

I’m not surprised with the draw. We lack depth. It’s almost farcical at how much we rely on Bruno for some magic to happen.

Milan were so much better, we turned up only in the 2nd half. We're just not good enough in those games

We were very poor, you have to wonder what happens in training because it's hard to believe we practice passing, ball retention or dead ball situations (attacking and defending).

Can't think a single player who deserves much praise - and Ole's substitutions were pretty odd too. Pretty sure we are going to get our arses handed to us at the San Siro

My god what a disappointment the preformens was. The result in the end was actually something to be glad it was not worse.
I thought we were going to outrun them upfront, outplay them in the middle and control them in defence... Not many right in that prediction.
Milan locked stronger, faster and better prepared for the game.
Well, it was a draw and there is still a game to sort out the disappointment... lets win in Milano and forget about this game...
(The goal was really great/beautiful/fantastic)

I didn't catch the game, how was Tomori?

I did see your goal, his aerial ability was said to be the reason Lampard preferred others. It's was a really awkward ball to defend against in his defence!

Reminded me of that game at Boro under Mourinho where he just kept throwing in defenders, think it ended with about eight at the back
