People moan about every single new idea. World Cup and CL proper expanded to 32 teams...moan. World Cup held in Russia....moan.

Give it a chance. If it doesn’t work out after 2 years, we and many other clubs will just go back to the CL as UEFA would have to take us back considering the CL would be much worse without the big sides. New competition, could be brilliant. All I know is, us playing against the best in Europe every midweek is far more exciting than Istanbul Basaksehir and Young Boys. I’ve seen people cite romance and sentiment, but the PL is where loads of nice success stories and ‘anyone can beat anyone games’ happen, and thankfully that is here to stay. If they find the right format, I have a good feeling about this.

My only problem is that Arsenal and Spurs are founding members  Spurs genuinely aren’t even a big club.

This is so shit. Aside from all the other reasons it's shit, it's surely going to make the league far less interesting. Football is on its arse

Everyone saying they’d be done with football or United if this happens will be the first ones watching. I mean who wants to watch United play the likes of Barca and Real on a regular basis when you can have those instant classics vs the Instabuls and Olympiacos of the world.
For me; European competition is about testing yourself against all sorts of teams from different leagues not playing the same shit 4 times a season. The SPL tried that

Congratulations to all these owners. Football’s lifeless carcass continues to be dragged around for money.

Why are Spurs in a European Super League? If it was done on merit, based on 1) current performance 2) historic performance 3) worldwide fame/prestige, they'd be in the second division. And why would England get 6 clubs in the Super League? £££

Part of the reason those matches against Real and Barca etc. are special because you don't see it every season. If it was guaranteed to happen every year the novelty would wear off very quickly, the excitement would die. Imagine not understanding that.

You need the games against the lesser teams to appreciate the ones against the top teams, variety is the spice of life.

Football will be dead with this.

Never seen such a stupid idea in my life.

Biggest draws. It's about fans, viewership, brand value and all that jazz.

The Glazers don't care about seeing us win things, what incentive would they have to pump money into the club if they're going to get guaranteed big money regardless? In theory they'd just want to keep us in the PL.

Good news. Domestic football is dead and boring.

Why would anyone trust Woody in the first place? The guy is the spitting image of a slimy businessman who isn’t afraid to cut your throat. Same with Kroenke. He looks like he walked out of a movie about a corrupt American businessman willing to let the world burn to line his own pockets.

Also, if the PL warns them to distance themselves from the idea, and they go ahead with it anyway, doesn’t that mean potentially the end of these clubs in the PL?

Sure the same way matches against top 6 have lost their excitement after all these years of playing against them. Really glad we’re playing Burnley today as a buffer.

It's replacing the CL not the domestic league
Initially. But that's not the end game. The end game for something like this is to swallow up the profit margine for the big clubs who have the power. This is step one in a super league taking over football.

I think they will, seems like this is only the foundation of the league and they’ll add other top clubs. Too much money involved and other clubs will want a cut of the pie.

I feel like that will be their justification for abandoning the domestic competition altogether, saying that the PL wouldn’t want them. As much as people try to delude themselves, the end game for this is for the super league to absorb all the money from the domestic leagues and the European competition.

UEFA and FIFA are furious, saying any players that takes part will be banned from the World Cup.

Let's be clear: Apologies for how xenophobic this sounds, but it's the foreign fans that are responsible for killing the sport.

What's more, you know it's true.
