Brilliant, nobody will notice in the wake of the superleague fiasco.

For Daniel Levy's brilliant reputation he makes an awful lot of high profile blunders.

Very sad day, I was loving his work at Spurs and wanted to see him there for at least another season, maybe even reunited with Fellaini. Oh well, a man can dream.

A man can dream :(

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Spurs might be as well to keep in mind that some of their top candidates for this job might have very strong views on them agreeing to sign up for the European Super League and could them to feck off
Alternatively it could go the other way. For instance before this I saw no reason why Rodgers would leave Leicester to go to Spurs, but if this Super League does go ahead it could catapult Spurs back up the pecking order since they are one of the guaranteed 15. Those 15 clubs will only increase their financial power over the rest, not just to pay the managers but to build better teams with better players.

Why sack him less than a week before the final?

Try and use the new manager bounce to win a trophy?

To deny Jose “I’ve won a trophy with every club” Mourinho at the last second?

Did Jose have a clause in his contract where it costs them another £10m to sack him if he’s won something?

The timing is just so odd. He should have gone months ago tbh.

PSG next me thinks, although Levy will probably have him tied down for the next year or so.
Zero chance PSG sign him. They maybe nouveau riche but they care about their brand and the football they play. A toxic has been is not what they are looking for.

It was probably overdue but I think they should have waited until after the final. That's the kind of game you got him for.

Going to Spurs was obviously never going to work. They needed improvement, but they're didn't have the kind of money he was used to. And coming off the Poch era the fans had grown used to a certain style of football.

So Levy says that Mourinho will be welcome back at the club despite firing him a week before a cup final? Seemed to be personal to make sure he doesn't win a cup. Totally deserved, but personal...

I will always be of the opinion that the loss to us was what got him sacked but he weaseled his way into 1 more game regardless of result (probably even told Levy to cut his severance pay by 50% or something) so it didn't look like his loss to his successor at his former club got him the sack.

Why fair play to him?

He's been sacked for being shite, nothing to do with him making any kind of courageous stand against this Super league bollocks
There's no way to know for sure.

They have been shite, but he also is better in cups of late and has a cup final in a week. They are having Ryan Mason fill in, not some seasoned second-team coach either. Most likely he was sacked to deflect away from the ESL since the fanbase was probably against him, but it could also be due to him being against the board.

Now that he's out of a job who's going to put bread on the table? How's he going to feed his son?!

You must be joking, all they care about is winning the CL....and they’ve sacked countless managers in their desperation to win it.

You have a better shot at the PSG job.
Agree 100%. Getting sacked from Spurs so quickly, after scandalous exit from United makes Jose entirely toxic for any moderately successful European club that has half a brain.

Possible destinations:

1. A national team somewhere
2. Russia
3. China

PSG have sacked two managers Blanc and Tuchel. They care a lot about image and Mourinho is the last manager they would want.

It was stupid of Levy to appoint him in the first place after watching what he did to Man United because we do not sack managers left, right and center.
Except for the 2 that were sacked left right and centre before him

They stood no chance in that cup final with Mourinho. You can't say he's better in cups as of late in a season where he was eliminated by Zagreb after winning the first leg 2-0. He made it to the League Cup final with an insanely easy run to the final.

He'd completely lost the players and look at their record in 2021. They've lost to every decent team they've faced.

They’ve had 10 managers since August 2003
They have had different owners too, Colony Capital wouldn't touch Mourinho because they wouldn't pay him. But on point Ancelotti left for a better job and Emery left at the end of his contract, out of the 5 managers appointed by QSI, two were sacked.

I dont know if some posters are taking the piss by suggesting Jose is suddelnly Robin Hood, or they simply cannot accept he can be sacked for simply being a bit, you know, shit?

Surely nobody is daft enough to actually believe he was sacked for taking a stand against the super league nonsense?

Nah it’s obvious PSG have a brand and image they really care for. Jose does not fit that at all.

Yep. Spurs the last month

1-2 Loss to Arsenal
0-3 Loss to Dinamo Zagreb
2-0 Win vs Aston Villa (and it wasn't a comfortable 2-0, they won because Villa had 1 defensive lapse and then Harry flopped for a penalty)
2-2 Draw with Newcastle
1-3 Loss to United
2-2 Draw with Everton

Knocked out of Europa when they took a 2-0 lead into the 2nd leg and 10 out of 15 points dropped in the league. If we got knocked out of Europa in the Round of 16 after having a 2-0 Leg 1 lead and then proceeded to drop 10 points out of 15 and found ourselves in 7th basically 7 points out of 4th with 6 matches to play I wouldn't blame the board for sacking Ole or whoever the manager was.

Jose probably wants that league because it would have meant more money and more money means more money for him, more money to spend on transfers and it would be a new competition to win
