Graham Potter I think will be then. Uninspiring, Kane is probably leaving then. Hope he goes to us.

Potter, Sarri and Allegri the ones Spurs are now looking at apparently

What, he is claiming that Ajax triggered a contract extension because the meeting between Spurs and ten Hag didn't go well? How does that make any sense..
Ajax may have been happy to let him leave, he informed them the meeting didn't go well and then opted to extend his contract to show his intention to stay.

I was hoping that they would avoid (or be unable to get) Nagelsmann and Ten Hag (mostly because I think they'd both do quite well). One down...
Two down! They were the best candidates and the two I'd have wanted us to approach if we were making a change.

Sarri rumoured to be a potential Fonseca replacement at Roma and Allegri to Juve seems to be gaining momentum.

Who else is left? Potter? Rangnick?

I've seen a few shouts for Nuno. Might as well get Pulis IMO. Surely the most overrated manager out there right now who wouldn't have a clue what to do with Spurs's squad.

If you look at how well Potter's Brighton have been in regards to their xG performance, he's the man to go for. 8th for xG in the league and 3rd for xGA. Give him better players and he should flourish. I wouldn't expect that he'd be too expensive either.

Sean Dyche is far superior to Potter and he would love the chance. Spurs biggest problem is lousy work rate and half assed performances and I don't think that would be the issue with Dyche spitting nails at them.

At some point, just like any PSG bloke in charge, Pochettino will be sacked sooner than later...

What about the guy from Aston Villa? He's doing a fantastic job too isn't he? How come he's never listed as a candidate anywhere?

Yeah ok, who knows, and it's not that important anyway, but Romano writes that Ajax triggered the extension.

I always thought the football he had Bournemouth playing was really good, it would be interesting to see what he would do with better players.
As far as I could see, his main problem at Bournemouth in the PL was that he made bad transfers. Horrible transfers, really.
It's arguable that it would be a positive for him to not have as much say in transfers, as would be the case probably at Spurs, even though he might not see it that way.

He's done a really good job with Brighton. They play decent football and do the simple things really well. Plus, he gets the absolute maximum out of his players. Would be very interesting to see what he could do with better quality.

Dyche’s style of football doesn’t translate to a bigger club, Potter’s does.

Too bad that they are not going for Moyes. He may have been available at end of season

Is Potter actually that good? Brighton's league position isn't great, He seems like another Roberto Martínez.

The underlying data says that they're very well coached but let down by individual quality, you can see it if you watch them. Klopp was relegated earlier in his career. Sometimes the league table isn't the best indicator as to a manager's quality.

True, Martínez was also relegated

Anyway, could be a gamble but would massively pay off if Potter's the real deal.

At one point you simply run out of good options. That is the downside of not giving managers time. In terms of picking a manager, there are very few safe bets in the PL. In fact, you could argue that Pep is the only safe bet these days. But he also requires a feckton of money being spent on the team so...

Once the 2-3 "hipster choices" have been hired elsewhere, you are left with two choices: a gamble(Lampard/Arteta) or an old fart who's probably past it(Mourinho/Van Gaal). I guess Potter is one of the few options that belong to neither category, so Spurs might go with him.

Dean Smith. Doubt it. He’s from the midlands, a huge Aston Villa fan and said when he was appointed it was literally a dream come true for him. His dad Ron used to be a Villa steward. His dad had dementia and the last thing dean said to him was “next time you see me I’ll be managing Villa in the premier league”.
So I’d seriously doubt he’s leaving Villa

What’s the odds on keeping Ryan Mason in charge?
If he gets top 4 then I reckon he will keep the job for time being, seeing as there aren't any great options available.

5 points behind Chelsea with 5 games to go. Stranger things have happened.

Agree with this. The football passes the eye test as well, they play some really nice stuff. It's pretty amazing how shit they are at scoring - I thought we'd see some sort of mean reversion as the season progressed but nope, just terrible at putting chances away.

Because he is such an arse that even as an Ulster man I simply can't stand the sight of the prick. I normally am pleased when my fellow countrymen do well for themselves.... can't stand him.
Bloody good manager though.

Spurs are going to end up spending their entire transfer budget on getting rid of Jose and hiring Rodgers.

Might as well get the poor man’s Pep (Potter) for a poor man’s big club. Match made in heaven.

What about Paul Ince, wasn't he supposed to be better than Ole? :P

Hope they don't get Rodgers, a girl i work with is a Leicester fan, and i think she'd be sad if he left.
Also Leicester is in a much better position than Spurs now anyway, even if Spurs is historically a bigger club.

Thanks for the info. What a story. Also, I realized that it would mean John Terry being Spurs assistant manager, which would be kind of awkward I guess.

Going for Potter would be smart business, he is the gem out of all the English managers I feel, have Brighton playing some excellent stuff at times.

He's already turned them down, don't know why people are still betting on him.

All this Potter talk I don’t think he’s up to much, ever since Brighton hired him he’s had them in a relegation battle.
