So many gimps in here

It’s no wonder governments and big companies can walk all over people constantly

Along with the protests all last year in the US... the storming of the Capitol... this... I have been consistently amazed at how many people doing these things aren’t taking full advantage of the fact that wearing a face covering is completely acceptable to do right now.
exactly. Wear a mask, put shades on a hood up and go for it.. but to be so stupid as to walk around, trashing property with your face on show.. stupid move. Getting a ban for sure!

what I will say though is I wish I was there!

It won't if the media make it about the ESL. It is about much, much more than that.
No I think it is obvious to everyone that the fans are done with the Glazers. It's been common knowledge before the ESL proposal.
Green and gold scarfs and banners had little impact, but the disruption today raises the ante. As long as the disruption doesn't become violent, I see it as taking the dissatisfaction to another level.

It will make a difference. It is already being reported on several media outlets and has become the main football news story. The game will almost certainly be delayed and may even be postponed or worse. If that isn't making a difference then I don't know what is.
What difference do you imagine it would make?
are the glazers just going to go ow well let’l’s walk away from an assets work billions of pounds?

Is it going to intice multi-billionaires to buy the club seeing fans break into a stadium? And likely disrupt a game ?
Is it going to help our case with the media who seein be there equipment
smashed(even if it is by a tiny minority)
Is it going to encourage the government to help with the reforms of owenship of clubs seeing fans braking covid protocols, and breaking into property?

the answer is no to all of them. So yeah great massive load of media coverage..... then what? What’s does it change ?

Some right mard arses on here. Writing a sternly worded tweet or threatening to not buy a replica shirt won't get rid of them. If you want them out, this kind of thing needs to happen. Today's game means feck all in comparison.

Yes, protest should only be allowed via strongly worded letters or emails.

FFS. Learn some history. We would be in a pathetic situation as a country without what protest has gained for us.
Christ almighty, it’s not fecking zero sum or if then.

What absolutely idiotic post.

These guys are idiots.

Protest against Glazers, not against the team and the players.

What a disgrace some of you are.

There are stories in some newspapers that a meeting is being held right now about whether the match will be canceled.

Protests are needed but not sure vandalism was needed . Everyone wants Glazers out but breaking stuff at OT just before we play Liverpool doesn't seem like a great idea to me.

I'm all for this but couldn't they have picked a better fecking day to disrupt things and destroy the pitch? It can't be good for the players' preparation ahead of the biggest game of the season and it's got feck all to do with them.

Apparently we wouldn't let Michael Oliver into the stadium

Actions speak much louder than words always have done always will do.

A 'peaceful protest' with a few banners and signs rarely achieves much, you have to take action to make people take notice.

It's a reminder if nothing else of the power of Fans and a reminder that the ESL has not been forgotten.

As long as noone gets hurt and there isnt a huge amount of vandalism then it's good it will hopefully make people stand up and take notice, if not well there's always next week and week after etc etc.

The game will get cancelled, won't it. What utter morons. Bet most of them couldn't give a feck about the glazers, just saw a chance to cause some trouble.
Another one thinking 1 game is more important than anything else.

" The next tricky moment is when the two coaches arrive, because the suggestion is that the fans will do their very best to make a barrier to stop the teams making their way on site here."

I can't be the only one thinking this isn't tricky at all. You drive through and if anyone is dumb enough to get in the way....

no..i sound like them now.

Has a “peaceful” protest ever achieved anything? The French Revolution didn’t happen because of a crowd of people holding hilarious meme-signs. I must stress, I’m not asking for anybody to get hurt, but come on. Enough is enough, if they can get the game delayed or postponed, that will be a big statement. The ruling class has done a great job of convincing the wider populace to be outraged over any protest that isn’t just a quiet crowd. A result of such peaceful times in the west, I suppose.
People from 1789 would agree, this however is 2021 and we have have taken a few steps since then around the world, they didn’t have internet or newspapers back then. The argument is extremely silly, this is not some government tyranny breakdown, it’s JUST football.

Well it doesn't change views of fans like yourself who are happy to sit there and tell people to "duh stop buying merchandise" and be content with that.
