Should be permanently
I don’t really understand that particular poster saying something like that. He is very active in other threads defending people’s rights and choices.

It seems out of character.

Carragher absolutely spot on there, putting this PC presenter in his place.

Feckin idiot presenter has done nothing but talk about the negatives instead of the cause and reasoning for the protest.

Nobody is condoning violence, talk about the bigger picture ffs.

Carragher having a pop at the presenter. He's acted like he has been inconvienced.

This might be a watershed moment in English football and ownership. On account of that, we should be awarded 3 points for saving football.

Just depressing how many people react to protests with the exact reaction the people in charge want them to have
This point is a slight exaggeration but this is exactly how fascism takes hold, look at that new policing bill - all these far right “free speech” people are completely silent on it, because they’re all in on the open-secret of what the policing bill really represents.

Bootlickers aplenty falling in line.

Power to the people. Protest. Protest. Protest.

Gary Neville courtesy of the BBC:
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville on Sky Sports: "I think it's a warning to the owners of the football club that the fans aren't going to accept what they have done. The second thing is that we don't know the extent to what's happened outside the ground. If there has been distrubance than I don't think that's acceptable.

"But the reality is the game has been called off and the fans have spoken. They did a few weeks ago about the proposals. It's not going to go away because they don't trust the owners of the club and they don't like them. They think they should leave.

"I think beyond today it should be about reform and legislation and making sure they can't do it again. Protesting is the right of every single person in this country to do that. However, beyond today now it's a case of making sure fans across the country unite to make sure there is reform in English football. That is the most important thing."

More from Gary Neville on Sky Sports: "The reason why those thousands and thousands of fans came today is because they have had enough. They have had enough.

"We can make the story today about the disturbances and I think that needs to be covered but the story should be about the Man Utd fans. They have had enough. It will be very difficult in the next few months.

"They didn't stop the game against Roma on Thursday. Will they stop the next game? I don't think they will. Ultimately the ball is in the owners court on what they do next. The fans have spoken today and have been powerful. They have stood up for what's right."

It will be difficult to fight against the Glazers when people are violent and agree with violence, unfortunately.

And you can't say it's just one poster, it's just one supporter - the more of it we have, the more they embarrass the club.
But it was just one person though.

I don't believe violence was on the agenda when the organizers were discussing the protest and how they wanted it played out. So let's not condemn the actions of the many due to the actions of the few. The message got out, at least, and it would have been heard worldwide. The Glazers have to go by any means necessary.

Carragher spot on, Dave on Sky trying to divert attention to a small majority of knobheads there to cause trouble. Focus on the real issue.
A small number at any protest will always be there just to do what they want, whether it’s vandalism, violence or something else.
The majority here today made their point. Well done you. Name and shame the dickheads fighting and jumping on cars

Invading the ground is a riot.

I wouldn't say a word had the fans just made it harder for teams to enter the stadium etc. Vandalism, violence and destroying the stadium they all love is like a riot, sorry.
You couldn't even keep a straight face for a two sentence post mate. Give up.

Dave Jones having an absolute mare here.
He's pushing the Sky line. Fans questioning where the game has gone in terms of it being controlled by money men is the last thing Sky want. On this, their interests and the Glazers' are entirely aligned. They want to discredit the protests to ensure no-one starts looking at Sky's role in the way the game has gone. I'd be very surprised if clips of Jamie and Gary's thoughts on this get pushed by Sky as much as their takes on the Super League were.

Your implication was that violence was the only solution. It's not. There is a long history of peaceful protest at civil injustice. Try googling the names Gandhi and Martin Luther King jr to name just a couple. Also violent protest has in many cases been crushed by various regimes. China and Iran come to mind in recent history. So thinking that violence is THE solution is wrong and somewhat naive IMO. Billionaire owners will not be detered by stuff like this. Force will be met with force and all you are doing is undermining the movement to get rid of them.
Do you have any idea about how India got its freedom or is Gandhi the only name you know about and you parroted it off?

Carragher has come across really well which is something I thought I would never say.

Can’t stand Sourness but that Jones seems just as big a pillock.

Without the punishment from the league, we achieve the best. However, please don’t escalate further than pitch invasion. That will result in riot which no one would like happening.
Let’s continue mass turnout for every home games. I think this time the tide could turn. We can finally get glazers out!

Proud of the fans with the exception of a few. Message has been delivered loud and clear across the world that Utd fans will not stand by and let these owners destroy our club and remove our heritage. Proud day to be a Utd fan.

Also want to say a big respect to Carragher, Neville and Keane on Sky who were not having any of the blatant poison that the presenter Dave Jones and Souness were trying to inject into all this.

Yeah, he's been trying to force his narriative for since this all kicked off but none of the pundits are having it.
Yep and this is still exactly what will be portrayed in the media for the rest of the week rather than why the protest happened in the first place.

The Glazers are lucky that we're living in Covid times, otherwise with a full crowd these protests would've taken a different dimension.

Agree. You always get troublemakers attach themselves to any protest. Most of them were peaceful. Arrest the troublemakers.

Alright copper.
Feck off with this shit. I hate this kind of attitude. There's always bad apples in every walk of life (see today's pitch invasion), but the police for all the faults that people that sympathise with your post might spout, they risk their well-being to keep the rest of us safe. Of course, sometimes the wrong person will get prosecuted or worse, but there's no smoke without fire. The police should be applauded for all the shit they take, and if you find them at your door they're likely there for a reason 99.9% of the time.

It's obvious sky don't agree with the sentiment, and they're having to cut the broadcast because of that.

Yes you're right I forgot everyone was there today trying to assault innocent bystanders, not protest the owners, how silly of me
I've said it already, credit to the fans that went down to protest peacefully and good on them for not joining in with the thugs.

Seriously... Destroying the stadium? What damage was actually done? Corner flag? What else, a flare thrown in empty stands? What is the damage done, £100?

The ground was not invaded by force or anything like that, the gates were fecking open because even though everyone knew there will be protests today, the Glazer penny pinching policy means they couldn't even afford to pay for damn security.

Well done to everyone (except a few idiots) who made it happen today. It is a huge statement, postponing one of the biggest games in world football doesn't happen every day, there will be a ton of media coverage on it and the Glazers will be mentioned a fecking lot in a negative way. Is it enough for them to sell the club? Most likely not but it's a start, we just cannot stop now and who knows, maybe it will happen. The protest was mostly peaceful today with a few idiots going too far but it's always bound to happen with thousands of people involved.
poor glazers will have to shell out a couple of bob for some corner flags. Probably be their wank reasoning behind no spending this summer
