Ole need to be more ruthless with his loyalty to some players. I think he’s on the right track with his treatment of DDG and Lingard. We need more please. Not to totally abandon a player but to “punish” a player (privately please, and give KJ. A “rest”) when he is not performing, I’m talking about Rashford.
Whilst I agree, can be more ruthless on his himself and his decisions. Been some shockers in Europe

Not sure what you’re trying to argue, what, because we finished miles behind them and now we’ve finished ahead? They’ve dropped loads more points than we’ve gained ie it’s not because we’ve massively improved. I expect them and most others to pick up the pace next season, we’ll just skirt either side of 70 points.

Hes won a ton of games on the back of performances like tonight, but dare to call it out and you get slagged off. 50/50s have gone his way more often than not this season, but yet again he’s bottled it when it mattered most, in a position that was very winnable.
I'm not gonna argue that we should have won tonight, we should have.
But we finished second, ahead of 18 other teams.
That doesn't just account for other teams failures, that also accounts for our improvement too.
To say you can't see improvement when you finish ahead of a team you finished behind is a bit strange!!

How many times have we finished second in the last ten years?
I think you need a reality check,
We are not the United of old.
We clearly aren't, I fully agree on that. But at the same time we are not becoming the United of old with Ole in charge. I know it, you know it and everybody knows it even though they want to convince themselves otherwise. Ole would not survive at any other big club, it's as simple as that. But since we clearly have no ambition of winning anything, he will get his contract extended (probably already has, just waiting for announcement). We have the best team since SAF but at the same time the worst coaching staff and we are in this situation where we will be "challenging" for things but never win anything because when you get to the later stages of the cups, coaching matters probably even more than the players.

Beginning of the end if I was to guess.

Reckon the delaying of the inevitable will occur for most of next season.

Can't see us winning any trophies next season so don't see how this will end well at all

On paper, we should be beating them. The difference was coaching.
There’s only one person responsible for that and this is on him tonight.

So because I'm not a boomer I can't have an opinion?
I don't use americanism like 'boomer'.

But yes age and experience gives you perspective. The good and bad times come and go - believe me this is not the bad times. We are taking the right road map back to success and although you and others have no patience - thankfully those around the club seem to get it.

Ole was the stepping stone we needed at the time he came in. Hes done well to get us from the dark Mourhino days.

Now we need to take the next step, otherwise the hard work Ole has done will go to waste.

Ole will always be a Utd legend. Please don’t let this be tarnished. Walk away with your head held high.
Sums it up well

The worst managerial performance I’ve ever seen in a big game. Pathetic. Cowardly.

It’s incredible, it was ONLY one game yet it emphasised every single reason he is never going to take this club beyond this level.
This is spot on.

I'm bloody miserable that his limitations are so clear to see.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
We didn't create a single chance in open play against a 4-4-2 that offered little pressing, pace or threat.

Are we happy with that? Because it happened against Sheff United, WBA etc etc etc, it's a pattern, and it's gone too far. If you look at the players we have on the pitch, to create so little really needs to be questioned. I don't know why it isn't.
Because there is this stupid belief that our players aren't good enough to beat 7th placed Villarreal and all the others. And we apparently have a good manager but he can't get more from the squad because they're so bad at football. Ridiculous.

I wouldn’t say we haven’t improved, just that this is as good as it gets.

Top 4 challenge, maybe a cup run, but ultimately rely too much on players turning up, and when you’re having an off day, (which we’ve had plenty of) you need a plan B. I don’t see that with Ole.

Based on what exactly? Tonight showed we're not at the level required.
One game does not define a season, a squad or a manager.

Finals are often cagey and scrappy games.

Yes United aren't at the top level yet, but we're closer than we've been for a while and 2-3 signings can make all the difference.

The hyperbole around Ole is laughable.

This is even worse than what he did to us in the group stages of the CL. I mean that game in Turkey was bad but this today took the cake

This thread that is full of Ole fan boys spreading their bile and bullying posters who criticize a manager, the thread was made after winning against Rome like we won the champions league and the treble. Defending their manager (not the club). Now we need them here to answer our questions,

We want them here to explain how a full team that cost less than Paul Pogba can win against our team in a final?

Shame them if they cant answer.

Another silly response.

Clearly we're being linked with Grelish and Sancho. And a number of attainable cbs.

Losing a final on penalties happens.

I'm sorry you still think about Jose.
Vague and without a drop of context. Typical for someone that knows he's running out of arguments isn't it? It's not just "losing a final on penalties". It's losing to a VASTLY inferior side on penalties. It's sitting on his hands and not trying to win the game in regulation just to save his substitutions for penalty takes when they were clearly on the ropes. You're not fooling anyone with those empty blanket statements.

Pretty much. It’s always been pretty evident he’s more of a motivational manager in the quasi-Fergie mould than a tactical one, but if you’re gonna die on the hill of that being all we need, then you need to concede that it isn’t good enough when we lose to a side who are man for man much worse than us, playing for a team who’d never been in a European final before!.... he’s undeniably done better than many thought he would in a job that seemed well above his station, but he may simply have reached his limit
...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle

He’s certainly not helped himself by hiring house boy yes men to his team, rather than a wide and rotating range of the newest and most acute modern coaches - as Fergie himself did... So he looks stuck because he can’t seem to understand that playing your best 11 for 15 months straight, and occasionally brining on a like for like sub on 80 minutes, isn’t really workable in 2021, however enthusiastically you put your arm around them tell ‘em they’re lovely...
I suspect that might he the case. But if he can somehow persuade the Glazers to let him buy, say, Varane, Sancho and some fancy dan midfielder who can actually pass the pissing thing, I’d expect us to be a much better side and go closer. Irrespective of the fact that the manager looks to have maxed out whatever he has to offer. That’s the tricky thing. He’s right in that sweet spot of being good enough to offer some hope without ever really allowing many people turn that hope into expectation.

Tonight was yet another example of why Ole is not a very good manager. Spin that how you like or whatever but it's a fact at this point. We've got more than enough evidence to prove it.

Such a pathetic managerial performance. Too scared to make a change, despite the players being run into the ground by the end of second half. And subbed Mason instead of Rash. What does Rashford need to do to get benched or subbed?

Same could be said of the entire season.

The culture has to shift, we’ve just played for penalties against the 7th beat team in Spain, the way we play has to change.

Ole has just implemented simple, quite cautious football it’s not going to take us much further than we’ve gone already.

A lot of that positivity is gone now, that was a shambles tonight and will be the lasting memory of the season (probably made worse by City winning Champions League). Rightly or wrongly Ole looks like a guy that shits the bed in defining moments.
I'm thinking more in terms of a positive squad harmony. Players seem invested and happy. Basically I just don't want another Mourinho coming in and hanging them out to dry. Which probably isn't a lot to ask but our appointments have been so bad post-Fergie that's my standard now: 'manager isn't a dick'

Dear @Giggsyking ,

First of all I havent been bullying anyone. I fully accept if you want Ole out for whatever reason. You know, I live in a democracy where everyones opinion should be listened to. But I understand if not everyone have that blessing.

Im Ole in. The progress is clear to see and Im looking forward to a new season with Ole in charge.

We need some new signings however, and Im pretty sure Ole would’ve subbed earlier if he Had Mahrez, Jesus,Aguero, Stones, Sterling and Gundogan on the bench. But thats not the case.

Seriously how old are you? What are you talking about? What answers?

Shut down the computer and let your emotions cool off little bit before asking such questions.

If you live long enough you'll accept that the good times come and go over the decades - learn to enjoy the ride. Getting pissed off and wanting to sack the manager whenever it doesn't automatically go your way is futile.

Give me one difference between the current United and Spurs under Poch whom posters here mock him for being a bottler and not having a winning mentality ?

Absolutely nothing.

Also a team who plays good but at the same time bottlers and don't have winning mentality.

We have become Spursed.

Because that's not how football works.

If De Gea can score (or do his job and save) a pen you're probably not making that post.

My only comfort is knowing he won't (shouldn't) last more than another season unless he wins something. So it's a win win.

I could almost guarantee we'd be a lot better if Poch had us these last couple of years. He had all the same ethos as Ole, gave youth a chance etc, but can coach a team very well.
Poch is a better manager than Ole. To say otherwise would be no matter of opinion but factually incorrect. Don't even entertain the cheerleaders.

Laughable management the night its on his head this result not the players.

Jury is out stick with him one more year or move on because this could be as far as he can take this current group of players.
