Good for the neutral for berretini to win that first set. Djokovic stepping it up now, early break in the second.

Nerves back for Berettini, but good start this time from Novak.
The unpredictably of tennis is so fascinating.

There is nothing remotely unpredictable about this match, we all know what the outcome will be and even how it'll happen!

Djokovic often struggles in the first set, only to then push from there and win the second comfortably.
This is as predictable as they come so far.

Not sure the why the laughter. The mere fact that Berrettini won the first set speaks exactly to my point.
Sure overall the cream rises to the top but doesn't change the unpredictably that can happen during any given set...

Pretty heavy strapping on Berritini's leg from the start of this match. Hopefully it doesn't have a big impact on the match.

Often isn't always, and if you go back and see the comments and how the first set was going, it definitely wasn't predictable that he went on to lose the set, especially since he got the first break. Anyway, point is doesn't change how I feel about what can happen in any given set, regardless of the final outcome.

The laughter was because you're trying to make the match sound far more interesting than it is, with hyperbole like "so fascinating", when in reality it's a foregone conclusion.

Berretini is more than capable of taking a set on grass, but was always going to fold, Djokovic in 4 is the most predictable thing to happen all year.

You can speak from your own point of view, fine, but I genuinely did not expect what happened in the first set, which is what brought on my response. If it was boringly predictable for others, they have a right to their expression of the match. I simply stated my fascination at what I experienced in that set.

Fair enough, personally I think you're nuts if you think this match is anything other than completely predictable, and about as "fascinating" as watching paint dry.

To each their own I suppose.
Most have been spoilt by the smooth and wonderful and all those other superlatives that came with Federer and Nadals tennis and the like. And while I watched it here and there, I was never interested in tennis and only started watching more in the later years of the 2 greats, so every time one of them play and I see Djokovic being slammed for his boring style etc, I struggle to see it cause I don't have the rich history and immersive experience others had see those other 2 play. I'm just enjoying seeing Djokovic win I suppose. It's more the fact that he is winning than the elegance that I think seems most other tennis watchers crave for.

It's like watching Manchester United, end of the day, you'd love them to play attacking football and blow teams away, but in the end you just happy for the win. I know that there are many that moan even when their team wins, and I can have my moments, but I'm just along for the fact that my "team" has won.
Hope that makes more sense.
Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it.

Berrettini needs to somehow turn this set around if he's to win this. Can't see it happening but the pressure may get to Novak again.

Some people will just never give Djokovic credit. Of course he is a heavy favorite and deservedly so. This is Berretinis first grand slam final and Djokovics 40th/41st? It's the two best players on grass this year, plenty of breaks, winners, great serves. If this is like watching paint dry then just quit watching tennis. It's not for you.

Yeah by no means class match so far but it's been intriguing.

No it doesn't change how you feel.
But Novak is often slow at starting in the first set, not always but more often than not.
He is now showing his class.

If you don't like what I like then you don't like tennis. What a load of nonsense.

Watching Berretini effectively hit the ball against a wall until he errors is pretty dull, but the paint drying comment was referring to how obvious the outcome is.

Yeah if you're a Djokovic fan or just enjoy watching Berretini basically play squash until he gets tired and errors then I can see why you'd enjoy it, but it's as predictable as death and taxes.
I struggle to understand why you watching if this is so painfully predictable then.
I suppose you don't like Djokovic or his style which leads to your views, and that's fine, it's just not applicable to everyone that's all.

Djokovic is simply too consistent. He's going to easily surpass Nadal and Fed. Would be shocked if he doesnt do a golden slam this year.

I can’t stand Adam Levine or Screech either, I swear they just put that face on incredibly annoying people.

18 aces and 60 plus winners so far but sure it's been Berretini hitting against a wall till he errors.. Out of 200 plus points , 33 have been decided by Berretini unforced errors.

It’s so weird how Tom Cruise is so revered when he’s an absolute fruit loop that two ex-wives have described as a control freak and generally awful human being.
