Preassure is on them really, if reports are true and Varane is keen to join us I'd have no problem waiting a year to get him for free. On the Varane Situation, As much as I'll love to see him move to United I'll also like Madrid to get a good deal out of it or both should meet somewhere in the middle, to think Perez would just roll over after what happened with the potential De Gea transfer back in 2015, then think agian I'm sure that left a bad taste.
For Madrid Obviously Money is needed off sales but nowhere has it been recorded before now that Varane would be sold, The Only reason this is being entertained is cause of his current contract situation other than that he's a player no club would want to lose not now that Ramos has left, So a deal to sell is open as to not lose him for nothing but if Ed and Co think Perez is a mug be rest assured he'll do something crazy, you only have to look at the Super league fiasco to know the type of man he is when it comes to money.
I like the theory that all these stories about rejected bids are really just theater to generate fan approval for selling clubs. They appear to be playing hardball when in reality they agreed to sell a while ago. That would explain Neil Custis' report that the Varane and Trippier deals are already agreed. Unfortunately, I still think it's more likely Custis is just a lying clown.

Replace Varane with Sancho and that’s the exact same tweet he kept putting out last summer - “Clubs are talking”. Nothing imminent here - Madrid will think we’ll cave on price before the opening game of the season and we’ll think they’ll cave before the end of the window.
