His return will drive standards upwards in the first team. Could be the making of Pogba having him being demanding of him.

Additionally thinking of the club as a whole, the young players in the squad who get to be around him in training, learning from him, seeing his work ethic in training every day and will to win. We often invite promising underage players to train with the first team when they apply themselves and show promise. Imagine how much of an incentive it is to get to train with an icon of world footballing history.

With him and Verane in the squad we finally have 2 serial winners, that will most likely show the young lads the way and we can start winning again.

if that doesn’t happen at least the kid in me can sit wide eyed in front of the TV again looking at the player who made me fall in love with this club
I hate to be a party pooper, but did anybody else not notice that both were poor at euros and are widely thought to be in decline? Let’s not pretend you don’t need to be at your peak to be a serial winner. I say this, because the club will be bearing a career peak wage for both… and now Pogba’s agent is going to double his ransom! The whole thing feels irresponsible and desperate.

Wow!

Not only is the GOAT back, but he, along with Varane, will inject the X-Factor into the rest of the squad, and maybe the whole club...over the past few years, being near the top has been enough.

Not anymore - winning is the minimum

Just a fantastic moment for the club. Ronaldo’s presence and winning mentality alone is a great thing to have around. Then you factor in his leadership, big game mentality, and the respect everyone has for him, it will raise the levels around him. It will raise the fans and it will improve results. Then factor in that he’s still an awesome player who’ll score plenty of goals and won’t settle for anything less than winning everything.

We’ve pulled off something astonishing here. I made the point around 2007/2008 to enjoy every moment and cherish having Ronaldo at the club as I always felt he’d move on. I’ll do the same these next two seasons. Just seeing a legend like that at the club once again is unbelievable.

I would laugh if he does get No.28 purely because the story goes in 2003 he wanted the No.28 shirt but SAF gave him No.7 and that was that… and now he wants the No.7 and gets the No.28.

It likes poetry! It rhymes!

Just come home to see this. Weird mix of feelings. I mean, obviously it's fantastic. But I am worried that he won't know how to play without having a side built around him any more, or worse that it won't matter because Ole will try and build around him.

Watched an interview with a professor (sport science) who is or was advisor for Real Madrid. He meant Ronaldo could play on the highest level until he was 42-44y if he is motivated :D Weren’t any physical limitations.

So in conclusion, Rio is GOD.
He is gospel to me now regarding United targets, fairly sure he was dropping hints all summer long about our completed deals. But he has definatley played a major role, he said he spoke to Cristiano more in the 24hours than the entire time since he left United! King Rio!

I pictured Statman Dave rushing to hit the delete button on a video he was uploading titled: "How City Will Now Line-up and Play With CR7." Then a mad dash to write up a new script titled, "How Man Utd Will Now Line-up and Play With CR7."

Fine signing IMHO. He's done well since he left us after his first stint at United. He has played in Spain with capital side Real Madrid and in Turin, Italy with Juventus. His return is reminiscent of Mark Bosnich's return to the club. He is a goalscorer and I might be a bit ahead of myself but he could bring some goals to this side.
