He's scored 37 and 36 goals respectively in all comps for Juve in the last two seasons despite playing in a fundamentally dysfunctional team, especially last season. Even if you allow for the Premier League being tougher (which is debatable), the level of creativity in our team evens it out. I personally think a bare minimum of 20 goals in the league, and around 30 in all comps, is a more than reasonable expectation.
Yeh considering he will likely take our penalties too I think 30 is a fair expectation overall.

Well that's what happened, he was nailed on for CIty but Fergie and our players stepped in.
But wasn't the narrative:

Nailed on for City as they were the only club, but then United jumped in the last second and he only wanted us then

This now makes it seem like, even with us in the mix, he was more than happy to go City

Wish he was available to play today. That Newcastle game will be something else!
Think even if we had made the midday deadline for todays game it was right to have his debut after internationals because still need to do unveiling, interview. posing with shirt and all the usual signing media stuff (still not real I'm sure and will wake up)

Yeah watching that absolutely hyped me up to the max
I really think it is Juventus which hold him back last season, he has been mostly amazing and carrying them, similar to what we‘ve seen in Euro, which I think he has been amazing. Of course we can’t expect to see a 26 years old version of him anymore, but he is still very good, and he still guarantee lots of goals.

Goals and little bursts of magic is all I am wanting

These wages are astronomical! Do not think he warrants that.

Tom Brady is a different sport with lots of pauses... not sure CR7 will be that decisive in Premier League and especially UCL.

That said what a transfer, wonderful to have him back!
Bro. This is Ronaldo. Arguably the best to ever play the sport. One of the most recognisable faces and brands in worlds sports. His announcement has had the most interactions of any social media post by any sports team ever. He has more followers than long historied football clubs have, some of them combined. Do you guys understand who Ronaldo is?

all that aside, he’s still a top 10, if not 5, player in the world. His closest peer, Messi is on reportedly much higher wages. By all possible measures, we’ve gotten a bargain, despite his age.

So how many goals is a reasonable expectation?
If he takes penalties then i'd say 30-35.
If Bruno keeps taking penalties then i'd say 25-30 goals from open play.

He managed that last season in a struggling Juve, so dont see any reason why he cant get similar numbers with us.

Apparently saying he will join either United or City - seemed quite 'whatever' about it. Either he was just acting like he was still deciding to avoid people saying in the press or he really was considering choosing them over us but Fergie and co convinced him otherwise
It’s pretty clear he was happy to go to City, even Rio said as much. Who cares now though.

Think he'll get the league golden boot with 20+. I don't think we've got a good cup side (yet), plus he'd probably not play the league Cup much, so going with 7-8 in non league comps.

84.

He had 81 goals in 98 games for Juventus.
Thanks guys, easy bet to say he'll get the 100 this season, might do so by March '22.

Can't believe he's back. If we could get a CDM too that'd be the best transfer window I've ever witnessed.

I hope Ole has enough power and resolve to use Ronaldo as he sees fit rather than Ronaldo dictating things. Im really happy he is back, cant wait to see him play and I hope he has a huge positive impact on Greenwood and the other young players

When will his first game for us be?

it's going to be so awesome having an out-and-out goal scorer leading the line finally. In the EPL, we haven't had a 25goal a season player in 9 years, since RVP and our title winning season. In fact, no ones even scored 20 in 9 years.

I think he could be the only guy that will get some decent crosses out of AWB. Because he simply won't accept anything other!

Why didn't he start for Juventus? Fitness issues or a tactical decision?

He 100% would have joined City. Obviously given the choice he would take us (as he has done), but he doesn't love the club that much to not join them. If he was wanted there he would have gone there, no problem.

Ronaldo being Ronaldo is United's new assistant manager/coach. I am positive he will have a massive input both in the dressing room and with the coaches.

For promo stuff and shirt sales he has to get the number 7. His CR7 brand is one of the biggest in the world, and if he gets 19, 27, 77 etc if will be such a turn of

I will buy a Ronaldo shirt with the number 7 regardless though :)

We dont have any other DM, hope we get one like Neves. Matic played well in many matches last year. I'm not gonna make a kneejerk opinion on him because he had one bad game.
There's no doubt when it comes to ability, he's the best we've got but Matic has been playing as a 3rd CB pretty much when on the ball because he doesn't have the engine to do the defensive work in the middle. Simple as that, nothing kneejerk about this.

Why would 77 not be allowed?
The Premier League have (or at least used to) this stupid fecking rule about shirt numbers and how you can only have a shirt number if it’s within a certain number of an already in use number.

A truly inane rule created by jobsworths. You should be able to wear whatever number you want in my opinion.
