Heavy Duty Signing. He can still cut it in the prem, I'm sure!

If he stays fit he'll play and if he plays... he scores.

Start taking notes Mason lad!

Going to end up a costly mistake as much as I like him here unless we fix our midfield options and don’t let Cavani go (I think they can form a partnership similar to the one he had with Benzema).

He’s still in the top 10 players in the world, possibly higher. You are massively underrating his current ability still.
I don't think he is anymore, maybe as a pure target man as there are hardly any of them in world football right now, you can argue he is in the top ten players in that role, overall gameplay no I don't think he is in the top 10.

But I dunno why I'm bother arguing, Its Ronaldo, and people want to believe they hype, let's just wait for the hype to die down and see how everyone feels at the end of the season when the shine has worn off.

I'll revisit this post.

Ronaldo isn't as good as he was in 2015 or 2011, but he's still exceptional.

That Juventus team have been woeful the past 2 seasons. We've got plenty of quality in attacking areas. I'm curious to see how he'll do.

Ibra was still brilliant for us at 36 and Ronaldo has always been the better player. I reckon you are getting caught up on his age rather than looking at the levels he’s still delivering. The way I see it he’s gone from best in the world (alongside Messi) to just world class afterwards, that decline doesn’t mean he’s not a top player still! I can see though that you think Juve only declined because of Ronaldo though!

Hopefully we start playing much better, because that performance vs Wolves won't cut it if it's recurring.
I think Ole needs to tell Fred & Pogba that they are not centre backs, and Fernandes that he is not a striker. Because that 6-0-4 against wolves was shambolic.

My idiot co-worker's (Chelsea fan) thoughts on this :
1. Juventus forced him out because he's being a hinderance to the team, wanted him out last season but didn't happen due to Covid
2. Allegri doesn't trust him
3. Ronaldo chose United because he realized that he's not that good anymore (also the reason why he wanted to take a pay cut). United is an easy choice because everyone at United will stand by him however bad he turns out to be
4. Ronaldo and Bruno in the same team is too much ego, it will not end well

Fecking football eistein.

Great PR to be fair, rugs on all the heart strings.

Not convinced he loves the club like he makes out - but I do think he’s doing this for sir alex.

anyway, let’s hope he proves it on the pitch! take us to 21 Cristiano

We desperately need his arrogance in a team, Maguire, Bruno, and Ronaldo. We are back to the track.

Juve didnt decline because of one player. They declined due to appointing Sarri and fecking Pirlo while losing their sporting Director Beppe Moratta to Inter.

I think we'll be fine. Look at last season, we were close to challenging. With Varane at the back, Ronaldo's goals, Greenwood improving massively, Sancho, even if our midfield isn't great, we will be there or thereabouts.

Who has even said we are getting prime Ronaldo though? Has anyone?

So what did Lukaku add to Inters over all gameplay then? Tell us.

And are you trying to directly attributes Ronaldo to the fact that Juve didn't win the league?!

I'm sorry but you've no idea at all.
@Nytram Shakes are you going to answer any of these points?

I suspect the poster has watched nothing of Ronaldo last season as if he had he wouldn't be saying what he is.

Ronaldo just won the Golden Boot at the Euros ffs.

Ronaldo will bring in far more money to the club than his wages going out, so you can't say the money would have been better spent elsewhere. We'll be up financially thanks to the Ronaldo signing.
He already has, the club value has gone up over £250m since the original announcement.

Any monetary arguments against this one lose straight away.

Devopment is another thing, Greenwood has nothing to worry about. Rashford and Sancho based on that dross the other night need to be the ones worried.

As for the sponsor worry, as his sports sponsors start to dry up his modelling ones etc will go bigger.. are you telling me Beckham is struggling for sponsors since he retired?

And I just read that Leeds are signing James; I like James but he was never good enough and never would have been; he had a great start to his United career but after that it fizzled out. I hope James does well at Leeds, but not against us!

How much would it had bothered you if he signed for City ?

Arguably a bigger legend than Ronaldo signed for City, got a statue and he's still highly talked about around OT, and rightly so irrespective of the backheel.

It’s a different era now and this is the only point in history where City are a credible threat and rival. I don’t even want to think about it now but Ronaldo to City would have been a nightmare. Just look at the reaction since the announcement from so many Utd fans and think about how many would have crucified him. I think it would have been very messy.
