I thought so yeah, much better than how we have been, quick play, creating lots of chances, game should have been put to bed by half time
Lots of chances? I do think it was much better than recently but I dont think we created lots of chances and our xG suggests the same.

They haven’t clicked yet, due to lack of playing time and also features in their game that makes it harder to click. I am confident that eventually, Pochettino will have them playing well together if no injuries happens. Psg had the better chances against Brugge, even the xg stat favored psg. If MNM was firing on all cylinder they would have easily won that game. Against city, it was a good tactical display on how to counter city. That approach worked as they got a clean sheet and a two goal victory, which is hard to come by against one of the best team in Europe at the highest stage.
Poch has used similar tactics to ole with the back 6 stuff. It worked against city for us too.

It is almost as though he is still managing the kids, that it is all about development and results don't matter. Get them ready for the first team.

I kept saying it back then. Something was just of towards how we kept winning, but played so badly. It didn't make sense to me then as we didn't have as much talent as we had then that we had now. Bruno, pogba carried us then with their amazing individual performance and I expect Ronaldo or Sancho along with those two to carries us now. But, it seems like at the moment, we are just bunch of individual without any pattern of play.

You look at how Pochettino is managing Psg. Their star players in mbabbe, neymar and Messi are barely contributing. It is their average midfield players like gueye and Herrera, and fullback in hakimi who are carrying the team. That shows good coaching as when the top players are not performing, other members of the team won't be affected as much. If Bruno or Ronaldo has a bad day, we play worse than shite.
only you could spin a manager failing to get three of the best players in the world to perform as a positive

Ole has done an amazing job with identifying hidden gems like Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Varane, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Edison Cavani, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

I love Ole to death but he just needs more time to build the squad he needs. Minimum 3 more years before judging him.

WHY DOES OLE NEED TO REMAIN? I find it so strange how this is always suggested.
Because he is a legend and everyone loves him. That alone is worth 10M a year or more. You want a club legend to go back to his old 400k/year job?!

Aston Villa did under 2 weeks ago. It’s no way near good enough, we know it and so does ole.
You can’t apply that logic. You can’t demand a win or a quota of goals based on who else did this or that. We should be playing better and winning more games, I’ll give you that. The point is, that only matters if the trend continues over a long period. We had this bitchin’ and moanin’ last season and we ended up second.

Meh, he was out of his depth from the start. Just that people realise with better players come higher expectations. He could hide behind 'our squad is not good enough' or 'look at our bench'. Now that the excuses are drying up, he is suddenly not good enough. He never was. Chelsea would have sacked him years ago. We appoint the wrong managers and give them too much time. That is if we want to win titles. If we only want to float around, that is another matter.

He will only get sacked if top 4 is in trouble or we miss out on CL next season. Until then he is safe. The Glazers will then pull the plug on him in a short space of time without any sort of plan before on who to appoint next. We will appoint another loser (as manager) or some past it dinosaur..

I wonder how long his leash actually is. Giving him that stupid contract extension and letting him splash the cash this summer would indicate it's a pretty long one, but on the other hand, bringing in Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane does show intent and ambition for being more than "just" a top 4 side. If you're actually serious about that, then the quality on the sidelines needs to reflect that and everybody can see that it fecking doesn't.

As I've said a few time, we are winning nothing with him in charge, though it's nice to see him as I remember 99 and then forget how garbage we can be today.

Member 99 everyone? Member?

Club needs to move on if it wants to be successful. Too much nostalgia.

If we had owners that cared about trophies I'm sure they would at least demand that Ole brought in better coaches and kicked out a couple of his mates, but we don't. There is zero accountability so the rot will continue until top 4 looks in danger.

I disagree with most of this but you’ve mentioned what I think is the main argument against sacking Ole - which is that we will not end up with anyone better.

Who's ready for just another: "we need to bounce back" statement?
And that smile, just gross. Does he even have 50% win at home?

3 more years of Ole :D You a Liverpool fan in disguise. Never in a million years he gets another 3 years of wasting the talent in our side. With the team we have now we're under performing because he simply hasn't a clue how to mix it up.

I honestly think we played better today than we have the past few games.

The problem is that we fail at the basic stuff way too much. Simple passes get overhit or underhit, players stand still or move into the wrong positions, players failing to commit to key duels.

3 years in we should have expected a lot more though. Unless we show dramtic improvement after the international break we should start to put the feelers out and look elsewhere, because we wont win anything of note playing like this

Thank you Ole for stabilizing the club and getting a good squad together, but now its time to leave it to someone else

A 50% win rate over two seasons at home.

Oh my God, how is this allowed? How are fans just accepting this and even defending it?
Yeah, I don't really see how this is anywhere near good enough. The away form doesn't really make up for it.

It also demonstrates quite effectively how blunt we can be when teams sit back.

I’m hoping Ronaldo does something useful and puts a squeeze on the higher ups and expedites the ordeal. Otherwise I don’t see Ole going any time soon — this team will certainly make top 4 in spite of terrible performances recently.

If Ole is to do better and stay he has to fix his midfield mistake at least.

We have to sign someone in Jan or maybe we can get a player to gel with Donny, pressure is mounting again so I doubt we'll have time to play Donny with different partners. It's really sad how bad our midfield has become, we could all see it as a major concern yet he's convincing Donny on the phone to come here for 35 million last year. The club was in for Sancho at 85-90m last summer and in again for 72m yet we have Laurel and Hardy in the middle with class of Ronaldo and Varane.

Why should he get to? He has been given ample chances.

I came into the season with really high expectations, but I'm getting really worried now. I've supported him for quite a while now, despite having reservations, but this just isn't good enough. I honestly think we're in for our first season of regression since he arrived, despite having our best squad in years.

OK you're clearly on a wind up here. Three more years?! No thanks .

Let’s stop wasting time and wasting the opportunity of having players like Ronaldo and Cavani at the club.

No title challenge this year means no point in him still being here.

Make the change while there is still time to make something of the season.

Felt like one the way we threw it away. Poor result then.
Definitely felt like a loss. I think a poll is fair and desirable. This is Ole's most important season, we are heading into a tough run and it's been 2 years? since the last poll. It's a good time to gauge fan opinion on his reign and whether people think he should continue. If you don't want to do it after a poor result then open it after a random future match (Home vs Liverpool perhaps)

Well, we drew! Also, I think it's pretty clear what way the poll would go, so not much point really. He has very little stauch backers left by the looks of things.
So what's the harm of a poll?

Why? And why only after a loss?
Why not? We have had an awful start to the season. Ole got the players he wanted and decided not to fix the midfield and we look worse.

I agree let's throw a poll up out of interest. See where the consensus lies.

I was for giving him the season but what's the point of wasting another year? I'm not sure there is one
