Yep, that’s exactly what was in Klopp’s mind. 5-0 ok, but 6-0 might get him sacked

I actually believe he stopped out of respect for Ole the player and person rather than out of respect for United.

It was definitely not due to saving energy as they hardly needed to invest any energy in the game anyway.
That's BS. When you push forward and go for the win, you concede goals. When you go down to 10 men and go into damage limitation, it's not that easy to score anymore.

It looks like he might have but we'll know for sure over the next few games which will ultimately decide his fate. I also think Pogba signs a new contract if Solskjaer get's sacked, don't know why but I have a feeling he doesn't think he's up to it
He is signing an extension if its Zidane or Conte. More worried about Bruno. He just isn't a fit for either of them.

This is the problem with this club. When picking managers, we just seem to pick someone that is "available". Go the extra mile and get the right man, whether he's under contract or not. If you can't get him mid season, wait.
Every club does that, though. Bayern, Chelsea, Real, Barcelona have went through more managers in the past 10 years than we have throughout our history. You try until you hit gold, there is no other way around it. Liverpool did, lucky them. Only club that really "prepared" for a manager was City who wanted Guardiola from the start. But we cannot afford to do what City has done. We don't have a sheikh with 66 gazillion dollars in the bank to bail us out. If we fail, this club fails. There's no magical genie to save us.

How do you know Conte, who has won here and won abroad, isn't the right man? Same question with Zidane.

Waiting 3/4 of a season basically writes that off.
My opinion. I don't enjoy Conte's football and his record with young/academy players is a disgrace. Furthermore, he's a bit of a tool. Zidane is a better candidate but his Madrid side often left me wondering how they won the game.
Personally, I want a system coach. A progressive coach with a clear identifiable way of playing. Something we can see the coach trying to work towards from day one.

Better Conte than no one. Tell him he's here for a long term project, given him a two year contract, and then just bring in Ten Hag anyway at the end of the season.
Frankly I doubt Ten Hag will join since probably Newcastle will get him.

I'm not convinced we'll go for Conte just like that. I think actually do the right thing for once and assess all the options. When they talk to the football guys like Murtough and Fletcher, surely they won't suggest Conte? I feel like they are more likely to say Potter or Ten Hag, as I don't think they could control Conte.

I don't mind if we do give Conte the job on the basis that a) as soon as the shit hits the fan we let him go, or b) a better, long term option becomes available and we just make the switch. No sentiment, no bullshit, just don't miss a chance at the next obvious option. Which might prove to be one of the two I already mentioned.

If Ole is going, Pogba is 100% a player I'd like to see walk out the door too.

Exactly this. If we think Ten Hag or Conte or whoever is right for the job or they want/need a full pre season and a summer transfer window, get an interim manager. Zidane seems the like perfect man for that if he is after the France job.

Is Zidane even a realistic possibility? He doesn't even speak English, no?

Gattuso, on the other hand...

This is no disrespect to Ole the Legend, scoring the winners against Liverpool in the F A Cup semi and Bayern to win the Champions League, I was in my mid twenties when he joined back then so I have a lot of love and admiration for him,the player but this is about him the manager.Enough is enough, he has lifted us out of a black hole but he has hit his limit now.

Watching him trudge off at half and full time, I hope he never does it again.

Sack him.

If all current season results stayed the same, does anyone think they would be more lenient on Ole had we won the EL final last season?

Conte's 343 at Chelsea was brilliant. It created all sorts of options in attack as the two wide men in the '4' acted like secondary wingers, allowing a double-up on the opposition fullback or the likes of Hazard to tuck in or find space. It worked like a back 5 in defence too. Really flexible and became my favourite formation after seeing it used properly.

They weren’t even trying to move the ball forward, just sideways and backwards for the last 30 minutes.
Seriously it was like the players’ natural instinct “Go forward, oh wait, I have been told not to, what can I do now, sideways and backwards”

Ole the player. Awesome. United great. Classy, professional , talented.

Ole the manager. Uninspiring. Lackluster. Boring. Predictable. Not talented.

Anyways with all these leaks, there is no way he doesn't get sacked now. Just get the next appointment right. Conte, Zidane or Ten hag.

If we decided we want Ten Hag then we should wait for him. Announce it, say we've agreed he'll take over in the summer and in the meantime so and so will take charge. Let's us make moves for players he wants to bring in straight away. We shouldn't rush an appointment. If Conte is who we want then fair enough, go straight for him.

I would prefer Zidane because I think he is less likely to cause upset in an already disgruntled dressing room and the players like Ronaldo, Pogba, Varane etc. I think would love it. These are the players we keep happy and things go well generally. Also I know there is debate about if we really even want to keep Pogba but he is a free at the end of the season, with Zidane he may be more than likely to stick around and be less of a general dick in the media through his agent. Bruno I think would benefit from learning from Zidane etc.

Also he is a player magnet. A lot of players would want to play for Zidane I think

Also selfishly.... I would love Zidane to be linked with our club that way
Ideally I want Ten Haag but if it’s between Zidane & Conte - I’d definitely prefer it to be Zidane

I'm not particularly in favour of Conte - but re: the worry that he would dismantle the squad, insist on buying old players, and so forth...surely that is what Murtough and Fletcher are there to prevent (now).

(Granted, we have very little reason to trust 'em - but that would be their job, i.e. preventing the manager/head coach from making stupid and detrimental short-term decisions in terms of playing personnel).

Unfortunately we cannot afford to wait till the summer as we're in danger of not finishing top 4 which will set us back years. Once the players have turned on the manager there's no coming back, we seen with Moyes LVG and Mourinho how that negative spiral results in disastrous seasons. We can't have this toxic energy ruin the whole season when there's still plenty to play for if we make the change now.

We either need an interim to come in until the summer, or a permanent replacement now. Ole staying for the season is not an option.

Dismantle the squad? What squad do we have? Virtually all of our players, except Greenwood, are in their prime. We'd need a revamp in a few years regardless. Ole hasn't brought for the future or anything.

Under soil heating.
Ten Hag.
Of course some might not agree. But why should we limit ourselves to coaches that are not under contract? The club should go for the best possible coach and the best fit they can get. I am certain that man isn't Conte but that's just my opinion.
He's unproven at the top level too though (yes I know they battered Dortmund but Ole beat PSG), plus I don't trust the Dutch league as a barometer at the moment. I do like how they play though. Agree I'm not sure about Conte either.

The fact the club haven't issued comment according to the article means this could be in motion. I expect Conte in the dugout this weekend.

Probably. But similar to Arteta, that would have been his only excuse. And he doesn't even have that now.

I keep reading about ‘all these leaks’ but have only seen the very unreliable Luckhurst Tweets. Has annoying more reliable been on the story that I’ve missed??
