They were trying not to get Ole sacked
Yep, that’s exactly what was in Klopp’s mind. 5-0 ok, but 6-0 might get him sacked

I actually believe he stopped out of respect for Ole the player and person rather than out of respect for United.

It was definitely not due to saving energy as they hardly needed to invest any energy in the game anyway.

Sounds like Ole has too.
It looks like he might have but we'll know for sure over the next few games which will ultimately decide his fate. I also think Pogba signs a new contract if Solskjaer get's sacked, don't know why but I have a feeling he doesn't think he's up to it

He's gone. Ole's hit the Glazers and Woodward where it hurts. In the wallet. Having a summer like that and producing THIS? They'll sack him.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I hate that this toxicity will continue to build. I hate that Ole will continue to be manager as fans turn on him. This is all on the board. He won't be sacked today. That's all you need to know. There are a few more losses on the horizon. It is going to be a dreadful season. Go again next season with Conte - no Champions League might give us a chance in the league.
I think he's done. Stories like this don't come out otherwise. It will be tonight or tomorrow. At least Liverpool's famous win won't be the headline news all week.
You guys need to chill out. It looks ominous and there's no way back once these briefings from the club start, as we've seen before.

Can't see the Board doing anything before City. After that game, we have an International break, so my prediction is we get a tallywhacking at OT by them and that's Ole done. In the meantime, we'll have sounded out Conte/Zidane to take over

Think it’s going to be either Conte or Zidane. Basically someone that is available right now.
This is the problem with this club. When picking managers, we just seem to pick someone that is "available". Go the extra mile and get the right man, whether he's under contract or not. If you can't get him mid season, wait.

We became more difficult to play against as we tried damage limitation. Coupled with not needing to try, and one of our players causing theirs to leave on a stretcher, I don't think it was ever going to be more than 5.

Klopp is gentle. He doesn't want to embarrass the other team too much, if victory is assured. Now Guardiola won't take any pity on us. If there is any opportunity, he'd go for it. So let's hope Ole's not in charge for the Citeh game because this might get really ugly.

I think it's looking doubtful he's here for Spurs. For once I am optimistic about the club doing something based on todays briefings.

Who would you go for that is currently employed bar the obvious unattainable ones?

Liverpool was a woeful performance and it could have been a lot worse.

Has his position been damaged? Without question. He's lucky to still be in a job.

We've got a tough run of fixtures coming up and that's his chance to galvanise the team and put things right. I would give him up until the next international break to see if there has been any response from the players against Spurs, Atalanta, and City.

If there hasn't been any recovery by then I would bring in a replacement but we are unlikely to get a main target part way through a season, so it may have to be a caretaker-style coach.

I don't think Ole's the right man to take us forward but there's no point in having a knee jerk reaction simply to take a heavy loss out on someone.

They both lost the dressing room, they weren't sacked for a loss to rivals in isolation. Solskajer won't be sacked this week
Odd comment, we've had 5 defeats from the last 9 games in all comps, 1 point from 4 games in the league. It's not about 1 result.

Anyway the stories are flying around this afternoon that the players don't think he has what it takes tactically, which suggests that at least some of them aren't happy.

Gentle? He's a maniac compared to Pep!

Im really skeptical of renewing Pogba's contract either way.

I really don't think he signs regardless, I think he has checked out and doesn't have time for any more United projects.

How do you know Conte, who has won here and won abroad, isn't the right man? Same question with Zidane.

Waiting 3/4 of a season basically writes that off.

Probably happening then. All the papers are carrying the same story so it looks like a briefing. Once this story’s out i don’t think there’s a way back.
Agree. No coach whose job is safe is being talked about like this. It’s his death sentence

Conte is probably demanding a substantial budget, full control of coaching appointments and final say on all things connected to the team. It's not ideal to take over mid-season, so he probably wants assurances before he says yes.

Which he really should get if he were to be appointed.
Be it Conte or Zidane, give him 2.5 years, with 100m to spend over next 2 window (winter and summer). We already have one of the biggest squad in Europe, we don't need major overhaul, just need a good manager and coaching team who know their stuffs, and some new midfield reinforcement.

Ten Hag.
Of course some might not agree. But why should we limit ourselves to coaches that are not under contract? The club should go for the best possible coach and the best fit they can get. I am certain that man isn't Conte but that's just my opinion.

Agree, I really feel we need an attacking coach that can bring some sexy football back to OT.

We’ll be hearing about it for years to come especially if they secure their 20th league title this season .

I hope he will be the first of a long list of fraudsters to be shown the door. Ole is bad but so are his coaching staff. McCarricky had sunk 2 United managers

Well, it's not like we had an option to chose from array of talented managers earlier. Forget Moyes ,but when LVG and Jose was appointed we never had this luxury of options. Zidane and Conte- both are winners and I would be happy with either of them.

Feels like the board are putting feelers out to see how the fans would respond to sackinh him

Expect Gary Neville to throw a massive fit anytime soon. Thankfully it's not a matchday for him to rile the fans up
Hahaha, he’s already tweeted first about players and then trying to use shame/emotion it’s actually pretty sad what he’s resorting to.

I would prefer Zidane because I think he is less likely to cause upset in an already disgruntled dressing room and the players like Ronaldo, Pogba, Varane etc. I think would love it. These are the players we keep happy and things go well generally. Also I know there is debate about if we really even want to keep Pogba but he is a free at the end of the season, with Zidane he may be more than likely to stick around and be less of a general dick in the media through his agent. Bruno I think would benefit from learning from Zidane etc.

Also he is a player magnet. A lot of players would want to play for Zidane I think

Also selfishly.... I would love Zidane to be linked with our club that way
