Fixtures are important and we can and will pick up some form eventually - we've shown enough over the past two years to be confident about that. Not enough to seriously go on a title run or anything but comfortable top four levels.

We got outplayed by Wolves, but we were solid against teams like West Ham (with the first XI in the league match), Newcastle, Tottenham and even Southampton (despite the draw). Ignore the Pool, City, Leicester results for a bit because the crux of my argument is that we have good fixtures therefore we'll go on a good run until March.

Arsenal were in a very similar position beginning of the season and now they are done with their "easy" fixture run and people talk as if they're actual top four contenders.

The big question in my mind is if the players are just waiting for Ole to get sacked or if they'll actually give 100%

    EDIT

My expectation of the results (Green = win, Grey = Draw, Red = Loss). Fully expecting egg on face when I look back in March:

    WAT (A), CHE (A), ARS (H), CRY (H), NOR (A), BRE (A), BHA (H), NEW (A), BUR (H), WOL (H), AVL (A), WHU (H), BUR (A), SOU (H), LEE (A), WAT (H).

Should be top four at the end of it easily. Potentially 1-2 of the draws become losses (Brentford will be very tricky). Coincidentally enough, around ~2 PPG from here on till March.
I admire your faith, but we have to contend with West Ham, Arsenal and Spurs who will improve as well, for that 4th place at least.

No way we’ll lose to Watford, we have too much individual quality, we would tie at most, I think we’ll win this 2-0 and will buy Ole another few weeks minimum.
Haha you might as well give Ole the full season so he has time to bring in the CL or FA cup. The winning run starts now.

But you are right though. Ole will gain few more weeks minimum.

Arsenal, West Ham have a pretty shit run of fixtures coming up.

Spurs yes, I think they'll improve quite a bit. Think it'll come down to us / spurs for 4th place.

If Bayern Munich can fall to a shock defeat against struggling Augsburg tonight. Then Watford are more than capable of beating such a disjointed United team tomorrow.

I just want Sancho, Greenwood and VDB to shine over the next few weeks.

And we probable have seen the last real influence of Pogba. Which is great.

I don't understand why some people want Greenwood to start when he's clearly making the team unbalanced as he isn't a natural winger? Ronaldo is getting no service the last few games he's isolated.. the priority should be to get the best out of Ronaldo so there needs to be more pressure on Ole to start Sancho who is the only wide forward United have who can cross a ball.. which is soooo important on the right hand side for the balance of the team when AWB can't. It's criminal not to take advantage of probably the best header of a football of all time in Ronny.. it's such a great weapon we have this season and we are not using.. makes you wonder what they are doing on the training pitches

how many games have Sancho and Ronaldo started together apart from against Newcastle? I don't think it's many and it takes time to build up an understanding

if you give Ronaldo chances he will score as he's proven so many times this season and throughout his career.. he's being the only shining light of the season so far with De Gea (if it wasn't for them two we would be playing Europa League football and mid table in the PL), but he just hasn't got any chances created for him in the last few games.. and yet you get some people blaming him for that. At his age he now relies on service United and everyone knew that before we purchased him. Feed the GOAT and he will score and if the defenders don't concede we win. Simple.

I hope it's true about Donny starting too

Bruno needs to stop losing the ball in dangerous areas as that invites the opposition to counter-attack. I'd actually drop/rest Bruno for this game as we have 5 games in 15 days and Watford is the easiest game on paper to rotate in. Bruno has played every game.. we don't want to burn him out.. it might explain his poor form recently by Ole overplaying him.

don't rush Shaw back and risk another Varene injury

    my team

    De Gea

    Telles
    Maguire
    Lindelof
    AWB

    McTom

    Donny
    Lingard

    Martial/Rashford
    Sancho

    Ronaldo

    3-1 United

hopefully Ronaldo as our talisman and striker gets a goal for his confidence ahead of some difficult games as his confidence/morale will be on the floor after the last few disappointing games for United where he was starved of any chances/service and the disappointment of Portugal going into the playoffs. He needs a goal to get him firing again ahead of Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal. It's our best chance of getting a result in those games with an in-form firing Ronaldo.

Win, lose or draw, it will not be a convincing performance from Utd.

People dropping Bruno when he is the only creative outlet that can get the ball to a striker like Ronaldo

Will we see a return of the back 3?

would like to see the rumored Sancho at RWB and Telles on the other end and yes , with VDB in the middle with Matic. Too much wishful thinking

Just imagine if we’d see this team in a 433:

    De Gea
    Awb Lindelof Maguire Telles
    VdB Matic Bruno
    Sancho CR7 Rashford

If I was in a bookies right now I would put £10 on Watford scoring in the first 10 minutes. I think Utd will win this but it will be the usual slog.

Today could be a watershed moment in Ollie's time as a manager of United.
He needs to show he has the guts to make the right calls and give the likes of van De beek, Lingard, Sancho, matic and dalot an opportunity to make the team. Bruno and Ronaldo should be rested for Tuesday night; we don't need to play Ronaldo as Greenwood should be ready to go after two weeks without a game. Van De beek, Matic and Dalot cannot be any worse than Fred and Mct and Wan Bisska. Lingard, Sancho and Rashford should also be rearing to go after the International break. Ollie needs to show some bravery and tactical nous, or he's a dead man walking. One of his most significant failings is not using his squad correctly; squad players need to see they have a way back into the team or become disillusioned. So far, Ollie has shown he can't use his squad and is tactically inept; today could be his last chance to prove us wrong. Today could be the start of another perceived reboot or the end of Ollie.

……and then imagine it gets beat by sodding Watford. In fact, it’s entirely believable

Defo smashing Watford today. Elton John will be crying all over his grand piano tonight.
I feel we will be very compact today and pick them off at ease on the break. We won’t concede 0 - 3 United

Fancy Ronaldo to get his second hat trick for us today. 1-3 United.

    Hoping for something like this:

    Ronaldo
    Rashford Bruno Donny Sancho
    Matic
    Shaw Maguire Lindelöf AwB
    deGea
same back 4? I’d surely drop shaw. He’s been terrible so far and we do have a good back up. Nothing against shaw, but some time away will hopefully bring him back stronger.

i’d also like to see bailly for lindelof. he’s a better defender.

Although maguire has been bad all season, i’d be hoping he can capitalise on a stable international break (against inferior teams but at least should bring back some confidence).

cant agree more with the front line. That’s what we need.

We'll win this then get smashed by Chelsea and Ole will say he's surprised because we'd been in good form but we'll put it behind us and bounce back.

If five consecutive defeats means Ole is sacked in a disgraceful way he deserves, then bring them on, starting from this game.

I’m hoping to see something like this:

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Matic Fred/DVB
    Greenwood Fernandes Sancho
    Ronaldo

Drop the line a little deeper, play quick counter attacks through Fernandes and Sancho.

    3-0 win for United.

Feeling quite nervous for this game and I am always positive we'll get a result.
Just want to see total commitment from the players and less needlessly giving the ball away.

Hope Jesse gets some minutes and Ole shakes it up a bit.

( at work today. is this being broadcast tv or radio?)

He has to be brave in this game. Stop worrying about other teams, make them worry about you.
Ole tends to set us up as the underdogs, which is why teams like Everton and Villa tend to grow in confidence as the game progresses and sometimes beat us.
We have a world class squad, being coached with a mentality of the underdog.
The coaches and Ole need to be let go, asap.
