Do any of you remember the Newcastle game? it feels like it happened last season! Ronaldo welcome, him scoring, opponents shitting themselves, their manager saying Ronaldo will be the difference, etc etc. Look at where we are now, not even confident that we'll beat Watford. So much has changed for so quickly.
Well, Ronaldo is still the difference. He is getting us points that we don't deserve.

Just heard our last trip to Vicarage Road with Ole at the wheel we were 4 points off top4 and lost 2-0. I predict the starting lineup will consist of 8 of the same players as that day.

We will struggle without Varane. He has the capacity to disguise the massive McFred malfunction at the heart of midfield which makes it easy for teams to play through the middle of the pitch against us and pepper us in the final third. Every manager now knows to do this because we don't have an answer to it.

I guess we might throw Matic in but he's so immobile that he won't really help.

People think we will walk this.

If we play well and dont make mistakes we may win but having watched United I have zero confidence.
I predict a torrid afternoon if the same team comes out.

    I hope I am wrong.

Watford is a team with Ben Foster (still like him), Tom Cleverly and Danny Rose in and around the 1st team... surely we can smash them.

Really want us to bench Ronaldo for one game and see how we play without him again.
    I actually agree with you
We have lost all energy and have become a very lethargic team to play against
I do not think Bruno and Ronaldo are that great together as is the case with Portugal
We also have a Manager that only knows one way of playing and it probably does not suit Ronaldo
I would drop Bruno and build the team around Ronaldo

imagine the players picked tmrw are pretty predictable (more of the same), tactics are anyone's guess (including the players), and the outcome will be a shock but not a surprise. then the next three games will be the real test. again.

I expect us to struggle with chance creation and make mistakes in our own third, but we’ll scrape the win. 0-2, but it won’t feel like a proper victory.

Ranieri will easily outfox Ole. If we're not at the races then this will be a tough game. Our last few meetings with these have been tough if I remember them correctly.
An actual fox, that's been run over would outfox ole and his band of competition winners.

8 straight wins on the bounce incoming. Telling you. ;)
I think we'll go on a good run until March. Chelsea, Arsenal are the only tricky fixtures upcoming until then.

We'll probably lose to Chelsea and get a draw against Arsenal but it's just mid table teams for several months.

What on earth gives you that confidence? Our run of opening fixtures wasn't exactly different and we still managed to lose to Villa and draw with everton at home. We were lucky against wolves and got smashed by leicester, city and liverpool. I think we'll lose tomorrow and next week to chelsea.

Fixtures are important and we can and will pick up some form eventually - we've shown enough over the past two years to be confident about that. Not enough to seriously go on a title run or anything but comfortable top four levels.

We got outplayed by Wolves, but we were solid against teams like West Ham (with the first XI in the league match), Newcastle, Tottenham and even Southampton (despite the draw). Ignore the Pool, City, Leicester results for a bit because the crux of my argument is that we have good fixtures therefore we'll go on a good run until March.

Arsenal were in a very similar position beginning of the season and now they are done with their "easy" fixture run and people talk as if they're actual top four contenders.

The big question in my mind is if the players are just waiting for Ole to get sacked or if they'll actually give 100%

    EDIT

My expectation of the results (Green = win, Grey = Draw, Red = Loss). Fully expecting egg on face when I look back in March:

    WAT (A), CHE (A), ARS (H), CRY (H), NOR (A), BRE (A), BHA (H), NEW (A), BUR (H), WOL (H), AVL (A), WHU (H), BUR (A), SOU (H), LEE (A), WAT (H).

Should be top four at the end of it easily. Potentially 1-2 of the draws become losses (Brentford will be very tricky). Coincidentally enough, around ~2 PPG from here on till March.

See a win in this one, 2-0 or 3-1. Watford did beat Everton but that was due to Everton capitulating.

That's an extremely positive outlook you've got there,

    I mean 8W - 5D against cannon fodder isn't exactly positive

You can make it 8W - 3D - 2L if you want, 2 pts isn't going to change anything. Just puts us on the same form as the last two seasons.

We are playing AFC and CFC. Those 2 are potential losses.
    We also have Villareal upcoming.
And let's not forget, we could lose tomorrow.

It's really a positive view, which I don't hate, in fact I appreciate it a bit, as right now the general feeling among the posters here is negative

We're losing this one, imo. Watford aren't great but they can hurt teams on their day as we saw with Everton. We'll play into their hands too as they're probably most dangerous on the break. 2-1 to Watford.
5/1 odds for a home win.
