I hope Dalot is fined a week salary for that last minute selfish shot.

More pleasing still is that, so far, we don't look like we're going to concede at any random moment.

Ralf spoke of controlling the game and we've largely done this in the first half.

We have played better in these 45 mins than any other match this season.
Dalot, Sancho and Lindelöf our best players so far.
Also nice to see DDG getting up field several times.

With this added intensity and movement, will we start to get more penalties again like we have in the past couple of seasons?

I don't know if it is the level of opposition or the new manager bounce, but that was a very good half hour. Fizzled out a bit in the last 15, but we ended it with a big chance. The final ball is still lacking for a clear cut chance. We've had plenty of half chances though and it should only be a matter of time until a goal comes.

What I like about the organized press is that it tells Palace that we are taking them head on, being confident that we are the better team. Of course it will lead to a few breaks for Palace but they haven't really made DDG work. A little of our passing have been sloppy but that is to be expected as some of our players are not great ball players. I feel having one left footed attacker would help in some situations, Mason could help in that regard if needed.

Performance wise it was good, we didnt score thats about it. Guess he will learn fast about this squad, how many minutes they can press, when they start losing shape, what happens next after press if they win a ball etc.

Also there is final third part that needs fixing.

    Nonsense!

When was the last time you saw a united fullback from the right even get into the opposition box, let alone try a shot!

You're getting too excited over a few games. We've been here before with Dalot. We have a proper coach now though, so maybe this is his opportunity to grab finally and kick on
He seems much more solid right now. Never seen him that solid. I think he improved a lot from two years ago.

Nice to see the opposition getting a bit frustrated at OT for a change.
it felt more like a fergie game.

putting them under pressure, making them make sloppy mistakes. generally acting and looking like the better side

Exactly. This is the biggest immediate change.

He's turned into a right biatch (can I say that? I'm saying it anyway so feck it) recently. Constantly moaning like a scraggly bearded twat who's just been told by his mates to stop taking everything so personally.
Biatch is the kind of late 90's throwback we can all get behind.

Encouraging, given that Rangnick hasn't been able to coach the players very much yet. Rangnick's trademark 4-2-2-2 very much on display, with the players very clear about their roles and what they're meant to do. For the most part we've strangled the game and not let Palace have many chances. Compare and contrast that with Watford...

I'm feeling positive. However, we have to win. We're not in a position where we can afford to drop points any longer.

I think Rashford is not suitable in the new tactics. Rashford is good when United is playing counter attacking. His speed is very useful. If United will to play the pressing game, he needs to get into space and have good ball skills. Maybe Greenwood will be better in this type of game.
    I think so too.

Enjoyable first half , you can see the players are buying into Rangnicks high intensity philosophy but the big worry is that our players will not be able to sustain it and everything can easily come apart.

But surprised that the difference and influence of the new manager already is quite noticeable and he has only had 2 days with the players.

We have only two players who are capable of intricate passing in the final third, Sancho and Fred.

I get what people say about midfielders but other midfielders on teams misplace bloody passes too.....

I get the overall point but there seems to be a fairly important half time stat missing. The score.

It's going to need a few new players to consistenty break these teams down no matter the manager.

It’s clear that many of our players are not used to making quick decisions after winning the ball back and that tells on the pitch. I also think our eagerness to find Ronaldo in the box makes us a little too predictable. Overall it was a good half but you can’t help but think of the state of our midfield. I guarantee you that Ralf is signing a midfielder or two in January.
This. If our other attacking players can start taking the initiative with the right decisions, we will look far more dangerous in due time. That is the next step in restructuring our attacking plans.

When team tactics are right he won’t be put in more defensive situations. And awb will be useless from here on, as ralf said team is playing more on opponent’s half.
    That's the hope I guess.

TAA is similarly weak defensively, but he is so rarely exposed due to Liverpool's system, which is practically identical to the one we're seeing with United today.

    High hopes.

How do you think AWB got his goals? All from halfway line?

Watching replay again at ht. Its a red for sure. Our players really need to get wiser, not about cheating but about not making things so easy for refs all the time
We need to be more street-wise - yep.

Signs running out of steam so expect Palace will make second half much tougher. Until we upgrade Mcfred whatever system and style of play we adopt is going to be handicapped.
