He was offside. What the feck was the VAR doing?!!!

I don't care though. GET INNNNNNN!!!!
Not offside. The camera's position is tricky, you need to draw a line parallel to the grass lines. If you do, it's really marginal, as if just his fingers are off.

So basically he wasn't terrible then. Brunos cross was great but it was fired in so still a difficult chance. Zouma did foul him but it's was 50/50 and still would have a been very hard chance and would of been created by Ronaldo making a great run in behind anyway. Yet those are the only things you mention but don't mention the link up or the hold up play which has been good.
Ronaldo's entire game is in the 12 yard box now. Doing simple passes won't get him away from criticism so I don't care if he linked up as well as any of his other peers in the deeper parts of the game. He went offside a lot today, he didnt press at all and that irks me when I see Bruno and Elanga and even Greenwood getting closer to the backline for pressure. He couldn't really get on the end of the great cross with a proper connection and I feel he drifted too deep behind the backline too often.

He didn't have a good game at HT. It's not that complicated.

    RASHFORD
    1-0

The goal was Bruno?-Ronaldo-Martial-Cavani-Rashford. Keep them on for the next game, they know how to pass the ball. So tired of watching speculative long shots skied into row z or kicked into the defender standing 6 inches away.
(If it was Bruno who started this, still can't tell, he gets a pass for today for all the shots he skied.)

I don't think anyone in the team played poorly. It's just that they were all average and no one really stood out (other than Varane and Maguire).

Gotta say, though, Martial looked really good on the pitch

He always does for brief moments when he comes on as a sub in a game where we are enjoying more of the possession. The issue is that you will give him 2-3 starts and he will do very little and offers nothing apart from his attacking threat. He doesn't do what he is told and doesn't work for the team in any way other than offensively.

Far too expensive for his output and consistency. At his peak he is unplayable and one of the best players in the world. Hes just not at his peak more than 10 minutes in every 90 if I am being very generous.

Well, everything there was with thin margins. Ronaldo contributed to this goal as much as Martial did.
Doesn't really matter either way. Generally when players come off the bench and do something good their performances rank higher than those who have a terrible game and do that.

He still doesn't look totally confident and looks a little tentative at times. A few of his headers have been wayward when it looked like finding a team mate was straight forward.

He has been better though and hopefully he gets back to his best for the remainder of the season.
So can’t state any specifics just a feeling you may have
If you’re expecting any defender to find a team mate with all their headers, then you’re just being extremely picky.
His passing stats were very good, 1 bad tackle and one poor long pass otherwise a good performance. Not as good as Varane, but then none of our other central defenders are. Harry played very well considering his recent form. I hope it continues and it’ll help the team and that’s what matter most.

Cavani was 20 cm onside, it was obvious the goal would stand. Well played

God you all are a group of one men complaining machines. Do you enjoy soccer (football) at all? Do you even watch?

    Thank god.

No idea why the twats are celebrating as if we've won a major trophy though.
I think the player would need to retire if they didn’t enjoy a winning goal with 20 seconds left in the match. Amount of shit they’ve been getting off the media and fan, I’d be amazed at anything else.

What the feck are you on about? I'm replying to a poster who asked why I thought Ronaldo was poor in a post I made, which was actually generally positive - saying we as a team controlled the game at HT well and are looking generally solid. Read the thread before concluding please.

So Ralf asked and answered a question some of us were all wondering today. How bad are you VDB? So bad that we’d rather play with one midfielder then let you on.

Just seen the pics doing rounds on Twitter. Cavani was inside due to the last defenders body position. Basically the right foot
