we’ve looked decent. will be interesting to see if they can show the same level in the second half. now is when we will see the players’ mentality

Cheering loud for Ronaldo, who has equally been just as poor? Yeah, makes sense.
I think it's more because Ronaldo has achieved more with this club than Harry Maguire will ever achieve, regardless of how bad Ronaldo is playing right now

We should campaign for all of our games to last just 45 minutes.

I mean, they technically do anyway...

...but the points should only count after 45. :wenger:

Bruno, Sancho and Dalot the standouts to me.

Don't get the wankfest over Pogba. Are we playing 4-1-4-1 with him and Bruno both as AM? If not his defensive contributions are shocking. Almost gave away a goal too.
He is so bad at pressing and defensive work rate. People pass around him like he isn't there.

I feel we are going sideways again, we better start well in the 2nd half or this could be the same old story.

I am fully convinced that we are a better team with Dalot than AWB. It took me a while to get there but it's obvious now.

Normally bad to see a yellow card but pretty good to see Rashford getting one, need more of that from him. Get in there lad!

Rashford needs attacking direction on the right. He could be such a great asset for the team if he knows what to do before he even receives the ball.

Pogba's passing range has been Scholes-like so far. He made 5 key passes in the first half by my count alone.

    MotM for me so far.

His general could have been better in moments but he's been a constant threat with his running in behind, which as a result, has created our goal, as you mentioned.
Rashford gets far too much stick on here. It seems with some he can't do anything right.

Our second best player according to whoscored.

We could easily lose this from here. No control over the game.

It’s the simple things like ball progression that make the difference. AWB cannot pass sideways or forward.

Ronaldo has been poor, think everyone can agree with that but Shaw and Mctominay have been driving me mad.

Shaw is extremely casual on the ball and is ruining potential attacks by being too slow, even the crowd have groaned at that a few times. McT is abysmal on the ball for someone playing the position he does. Romeu is a decent player but looks a few levels above him in his use of the ball in the deep position. A DM is such a priority in the summer.

But if Bednarek's touched the ball and played it, then the goal would have been legal. If the linesman had put his flag up he might have disallowed a potentially legal goal, which is the entire point of delaying the flag until the action has been finished.

To put it clearly: If Bednarek touched the ball then Ronaldo wouldn't have been offside regardless of his position when the initial pass was played.
Yes but since he clearly didn't, there was no need for the delay

Good, in fact better, but not good enough. If you’re a Southampton supporter you could be forgiven for thinking to yourself: We got this.

You could have picked a better example them the game were they had a man sent off after 2 mins.

I think that may have contributed to the 9-0 on the day.
One man down doesn't always lead to wins. How many matches have you seen where we were playing against a 10man opposition and not win? Lose even.

You are missing my point. People are suffering from recency syndrome. So when Ralf leaves people here will be slagging him off and praising the new manager to the hilt -- all after 10 games
    fair
i think most of us have learned from last time
Ole had a fantastic start too but obviously didn’t work out
    I take your point though
We did play great football for awhile under him too
    Coincidentally when Pogba was on

Tbh I'd sub Elanga for Ronaldo and push Rashford forward. If we continue like this there's big chance Southampton will score imo.

Agree, But a lot of players have been off form and let Ole down this season.

This place is weird sometimes - I’ve seen posts knocking both Pogba and Sancho, yet those two have been outstanding.

I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
Eh? We were 4-0 up in the same tie this time last year. Shit football then?
Shit football for 3 years. Just go and look at the all the post match threads, "we were terrible but ill take the 3 points." Αt least now we are passing the ball properly. 9-0 over Southampton doesn't change how shite we were for the majority of games. We are playing proper football now, attacking with a plan, at last.
