he would have been much more Saul than Thiago for us.
You're right on this one. It's natural that the media and pundits measure Liverpool against Manchester United, but they are doing so against the name of the club and it's history and not the actual team that we currently have.
Liverpool should be more concerned that for about 20 minutes after half time, the worst united side in living memory actually started causing them a few problems. People will scoff at this comment, but a more clinical team would likely have got that game back to 2-1 or even 2-2 during that spell. We put Rashford in a couple of times and he really should have made it 2-1 at least.
They are a brilliant team and are light years better than us, but this is a united side wo are utterly on the floor / beach and clearly just want the season to end. Liveropool's win wasn't some masterclass where they destroyed one of the world's greatest teams.
To put myself back on thread topic - Thiago is a cnut and someone should have booted him right up in the air for showboating.
Rashford should score though for 2-1 in what was our only vaguely decent 15 minutes of the match. I think your players actually took their foot off the gas at the start of the half because I saw Robertson and Henderson trying to gee the rest of them up after that Rashford chance. They could see you hadn't started well enough. You're right on this one.
I expect Klopp to go with his usual contemptuous selection against Everton and field all the second stringers for a casual 3-0 victory. You won't be so lucky at the weekend when you have to face... checks notes.... your bitter rivals Everton who always show up and give you a game at Anfield..... oh wait
Going by that logic the game should've been out of reach for you at that point. It just doesn't work that way.Rashford should score though for 2-1
Agreed. Was the only one who really got a hold of possession and moved it with purpose.I thought he was the only midfielder who didn't look poor.
You left out that he ran the show against city a few days later at wembley too.
My biggest annoyance in all this is that you lot had some fecking awful sides during your 30 years without a title and never once did you not give us a game. Only that 4-0 in 2003 springs to mind as probably our easiest victory and that's heavily caveated because you went down to 10 men really early on. So many times we'd have to fight tooth and nail for anything. Fast forward to the current jokers and they don't even give one of yours the mighty boot out of frustration at being so much worse than your lot.I expect Klopp to go with his usual contemptuous selection against Everton and field all the second stringers for a casual 3-0 victory.
you scored 4 goals from 5 shots on target. How should it have been out of reach for us at 2-1? It would have been out of reach for us because we're fecking awful and have a bunch of pathetic heartless twats in the team, but not based upon chances created at that point.Going by that logic the game should've been out of reach for you at that point. It just doesn't work that way.
To be honest, the fact that a kid like that gets so much praise for coming on and committing three fouls before being told by the ref to use his head not get sent off with three minutes left kinda speaks volumes of how rudderless both club and fanbase is atm. Remember Keane's reaction to Ferguson's praise "covering every blade of grass" against juventus?Hannibal came on and did what none of them were brave enough to do. Had we spent the 90 minutes doing an Atletico on you and lost 1-0, that would have been so much better than what we actually did.
Exactly. People were creaming themselves over a very good footballer who was put under about as much pressure as he would face playing in an under 10s game with his kids. I take that back, the kids would at least have chased him and tried to tackle him.Fred could look like Xavi with the amount of time and space Thiago was given. It was like a fuking training game for the guy.
With your five shots on target?Going by that logic the game should've been out of reach for you at that point. It just doesn't work that way.
Just thought it was weird that he suggested that a better team could've taken something from the game or would've tied the game up during the 10' in which we were not in complete control. We went into first gear after the 2-0 so you can't really look at games that way, is all I was trying to say. With your five shots on target?
Can't remember DDG making many saves to be fair despite the outpouring of cum from the pundits.
Norwich hammered us the game before, we are shite and have given up.
He saw Keite get away with a red card offence and figured he was safe to clatter a few too. If you can't beat em, boot em. Him kicking that fake hard man Henderson was brilliant. He almost started crying. To be honest, the fact that a kid like that gets so much praise for coming on and committing three fouls before being told by the ref to use his head not get sent off with three minutes left kinda speaks volumes of how rudderless both club and fanbase is atm. Remember Keane's reaction to Ferguson's praise "covering every blade of grass" against juventus?
“Stuff like that almost insults me,” Keane said. “What am I supposed to do? Give up? Not cover every blade of grass? Not do my best for my teammates? Not do my best for my club?“To be honest, I actually get offended when people throw quotes like that at me as if I’m supposed to be honoured by it.“It’s like praising the postman for delivering your letters. He’s supposed to, isn’t he? That’s his job.“My job is to try and win football matches for Man United."
Reckon he'd rather have been praised for his qualities besides putting in an effort.
That'a not a good retort when you lose 4-0.With your five shots on target?

Just pointing it out in the hysteria of the hammering of our out of form / on the beach reserve team the other night. That'a not a good retort when you lose 4-0.

To match Thiago and Fabinho we would need to get players like Neves, Tchouameni, Rice and Frankie and hope that they get gelled in quickly and start performing.Hes dead to me.
Was exactly the type of player we need.
Thats roughly £200mTo match Thiago and Fabinho we would need to get players like Neves, Tchouameni, Rice and Frankie and hope that they get gelled in quickly and start performing.
Its hard to know, I think it'll be between him or Bernardo beside KDB with Fabinho as the 6. And it truth its hard to seperate them. This guy is such a class act. I think he struggled last season having to play different roles in midfield with our CB injury issues but he's been incredible this season. He compliments Fabinho really well and we haven't had a player like him before under Klopp. His passing stats are ridiculous.

One of those was against City as well. It's only really his injury record that causes some issues. I doubt he'll be in the PL team of the season but he's not far off.
Our problem is that he is their c*nt and not our c*nt.Red cafe might be the only place in the internet which doesn't rate Thaigo
Because we have idiots in the board. We could have had Thiago and Kroos in the midfield, instead we got trash. We could have a defense of Van Dijk and Varane managed by Klopp but instead well let's forget it.Our problem is that he is their c*nt and not our c*nt.
And the multi-million question is: Why is he their c*nt and not our c*nt?
I meant any 2 of these 4. Personally I would love us to get Tchouameni and Neves.Thats roughly £200m
Tchouameni is supposedly going to Liverpool, Rice is out of reach money wise, Frenkie would be great and Neves will go to a CL team imo. We should go for Frenkie and Bellingham imo.
For some reason I had Dias down as the one having the better season between him and Laporte. Would you say Laporte has been better? Its hard to know, I think it'll be between him or Bernardo beside KDB with Fabinho as the 6. And it truth its hard to seperate them.
I think Bernardo might get it based purely on goals and assists. He has 13 goals and 5 assists (8 and 3 in the PL) vs Thiago who has 2 goals and 3 assists (1 and 2 in the PL).
KDB and Fabinho are shoe ins.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see 10 Pool and City players with Son. Theres only really a case for Rudiger and Kane outside of that.
For me
-------------------Alisson---------------------
TAA-----Laporte------VVD---Cancelo
-------------------Fabinho---------------------
-----------KDB----------------Silva-----------
Salah------------Kane----------------Son (could easily be two Liverpool but Kane has more g&a than Mane or Jota.)
Hannibal is our only hope of developing one internally. Otherwise we'll need a huge purchase, or genius scouting. My kingdom for a Verratti/Modric/Thiago style conductor.
Mad stat. That’s 93 passes per game, there. It’s exactly this sort of midfield robot passer we’re missing and I really want us to target. Forget these guys like Laimer, Phillips etc. we absolutely need a midfielder who can pass the football around like this. This guy is such a class act. I think he struggled last season having to play different roles in midfield with our CB injury issues but he's been incredible this season. He compliments Fabinho really well and we haven't had a player like him before under Klopp. His passing stats are ridiculous.
