What fan base? People leaving mostly respectful messages because he's fecking dead? :houllier:
I obviously wasn't referring to the messages of people saying RIP :houllier:

RIP love him or hate him he was one of the best agents in football and got some incredible deals for his clients. What illness did he have? Sad news.

Seems a very abrupt change in attitude towards him. Very disingenuous.

Sending condolences is fair enough. But don't change to narrative to how great he was.

Whatever you thought of him, he was a human being, a life. RIP

Lived life in the fast lane.
Fair play to him!
This. He is just playing the game the clubs are already playing. And was annoyingly good at it.

A bit interesteing though is that he after all those years never got to see Pogba sign for another club, as well as Haaland. Or Zlatan retiring (potentially winning the Serie A?)

All these three are somehow quite sad. Rip

Many people are obsessed with trying to appear to be morally and politically correct.

Then I don't really understand what you mean by saying he's got a fan base. The only other times I've seen him mentioned on here, 95% of the posts have been variants of "feck that fat cnut" (which is understandable because he's effectively acting against the club on behalf of his clients, whether driving deals or attempting to force moves etc).

He was a great agent.

Ask Ibra, Nedved or Pogba and they will tell you the same.

That’s a lot of good players looking for a new agent. I wonder if the players will work with someone in the raiola family/company or seek new representation.

Beast of an agent. All his clients got good financial deals at various clubs on multiple occasions.

I hated how he talked openly about our club, but everything he said was true.

He was great at his job.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

I'd imagined contracts would have clauses in which dictate whether they can move or "the company" (not the individual) remains agent.

Sure it'll come out.

There must have been a plan in place, he’s been ill for months. And I i’m sure he probably has a team he worked with who will handle deals this summer.

What the feck kind of socially retarded worldview is this? You can "hate" someone in a football sense and not actually hate them. He got abuse on here because he was often acting against the interests of Manchester United. It's not as though he killed anybody or made millions of people's lives worse. He's not Pol Pot or Thatcher.

He was obviously a very good agent and a bit of a character. If Steven Gerrard drops dead tomorrow you'll see messages on here saying he was an excellent player and a promising manager. Because it's true. It doesn't mean we're all suddenly Liverpool fans.

Agreed. Some people take football far too seriously. There's a limit where it needs to be separated.

There was a video by an ex player who told everything about Mino as an agent. He seemed to step into the level of finding best houses for his client especially when they move into a new country. He cared his clients so much and made the best deal for client and himself.

RIP.

Yeah I was thinking back on what he said that made us hate him, but it was mostly about how bad we were run and won't let Pogba go. And it's not even like he was playing really well and we couldn't lose him. Woody just wanted the commercial side of him.

I’m beginning to think that Balotelli might never win that Ballon D’or now.

Not surprised he didn't make it. At that age with that weight... hard to recover from critical illness.

He used to say they don't have long term contracts. Just each individual case, and regarded extended family. Not sure that's true or not.

RIP.
I think his reputation was unfair.
His clients paid him to be the bad guy and he played that role brilliantly.
