Same as 77. They just can never put the big 3 trophies on the table in the same season. Also they look rather scummy for booing abide with me.

I don’t get the thread title change at all.
They have won the quad already. Keep up with the modern game ffs!

- League Cup (after scoring a grand total of zero goals over 120 mins and avoiding a red card)

- FA Cup (same as above)

- Dominating the PL trophy (no explanation needed)

- Coming closest to the quadruple trophy (despite not having the league in their own hands apart from for a couple of games between City’s dropped points against Palace and their game against Liverpool at the Etihad)

Phew... Bit sad really that we are having to celebrate "only" a Liverpool treble but I'll clutch those straws close.

Think they're big favourites against Real Madrid. At least it won't be a quadruple anyways.
English overrating their teams as per usual, they aren't that good. Villareal (6th) gave a good run for its money to liverpool.

"Big favourites" vs the most accomplished team in the story of the sport is hilarious. Pretending that somehow Madrid is a victim when those players have done stuff Liverpool never will like winning 3 consecutive champions.

Also, Madrid has lost exactly 0 champion league finals. The only 3 we have lost is on ancient era: all the way back to 1981.

Both teams are evenly matched and any of them can win.

The fact that it looked Liverpool were going to win the title at one stage, only to have it snatched away from them, definitely made it sweeter.

But like in 2018/2019 (though then any prospect of them winning the title on the final was quickly ended inside the first half), at least from their perspective they have a CL final to look forward to.

Liverpool had missed some easy points during the road trip. For me, they are good but not enough to win this championship( City is arguably the best in league system) in this year.

There's only one United!
We didn’t win the CL with Houllier but any combo with the CL is nothing to be sneezed at. Someday maybe you will find out how big the CL is.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :Dsour grapes!
Can we go ahead and ban dippers even though they’ve failed? Just to show we’re not bitter?
Many of us wish that happens but it's not going to happen.

You are a fine man, happy you didn't win (because they targeted me with bottles once I went at Anfield mostly), but since you are a good man condolences
If they target you again, you could tell me any time that you want. I will fly to Anfield to help you for sure.

They won't have that title either, they've not won the top tier national league which is the fundamental part of any double, treble, quadruple.

City needed 3 goals .
Liverpool fans at Anfield were all singing and celebrating . Carragher was getting emotional on commentary , Klopp was punching the air getting the crowd motivated.

hahahaha! Love it !

Relieved it hasn't happened, really fearful it was going to happen when City went 1 down.

Many years ago, it was deemed almost impossible to win the quadruple and almost impossible to see a team win the Treble again. However, the bar City and Liverpool set is so high now and with the developments in fitness and sports science, the depth of quality of these squads, it feels that the achievement is by no means impossible any longer. Either the quadruple or THE treble could be won in the near future by either team.

You know you're posting on a forum of a team who have won it, don't you?

Yes it was absolutely brilliant. Hopefully they suffer a hangover from this ahead of next week, although sadly I doubt it as they look very strong mentally.

The title being snatched away from Liverpool in those circumstances plus Burnley going down definitely made me happy today !

This was the one everyone was worried about. Cups are cups and one offs, but leagues are the real ones.
They may well equal 20 leagues soon, but they haven't matches or worse case, beaten our historical proper treble now.

They'll win that final comfortably. City to blame by allowing the Madrid into the final, history repeated by allowing Spurs into the 2019 final.

Was hoping to hear a report on the scenes at Anfield when Villa were two up. That’s fantastic. Lovely stuff!

As a fanbase I think we should keep quiet until we've got something to shout about. Relieved Liverpool didn't win but Oil FC winning again is barely more tolerable...

Nah I disagree, just enjoy someone else's pain, we've been in it all year

It's prob pathetic but not point in just staying even more depressed about everything, take these small wins

Nah
Tbh, Madrid counter-attacks are very dangerous and can cause a lot of troubles to our full-backs. I don't underestimate Madrid's mentality too.
