It’s hard to be that disappointed with two out of four but I think we need to win in Paris to make it a great season.

The league is a joke. We re dropped four points since January and it still wasn’t enough. That’s the nature of the competition against Pep’s City though.
You weren't great at the start of the season though. Salah carried you in the first half of the season.

We were more of a mix. Jota scored quite a few in the earlier parts of the season as well as Salah and we had some very good performances then some not so good ones. We’ve been better at finding ways to win in the second half of the season, and I think we’re a bit more settled in terms of who plays. Diaz coming in helped as well.

These Cup competitions are a freak. The top clubs play their reserves and if they have a lucky draw, they get to the semi finals and then play their first team. Think Liverpools Hardest game in the FA cup was the semi final against a injury hit tired City team.

The other cup, they were Virtually out against Leicester, but scored a injury time equaliser and won …..surprise surprise , on Penalties.

Not sure what happened in that game against Leicester ,but the fans and players were furious (Leicester) and they treated the next league match against them as a cup final. Looking back now, that was the league game that cost them the title.

Klopp somehow fecked that up.
Id argue that it was, yet again, failing to beat City over the two fixtures that cost them. Fans may say points wise its close, which it was, but league races are meant to be close at elite levels. Pep really seems to have sussed Klopp out to the point he doesn't bottle Anfield anymore. Its Liverpool somehow escaping with draws after City play well and it seems to be every other game as well.
Ill also argue this, I honestly think Pep is ripe for mind games, Jose sent him into a sabbatical then fans pretended that's what he will do with every job, no big deal. Well he hasnt. Jose got to him and took his league title in his last season. He has a mental block with the CL that's in his head and he fails in that every year. You saw signs of that after their CL exit and ridiculous answer to Evra and Berbatov and his paranoia about everybody wanting Liverpool to win. You put prime Jose or SAF in charge of this Liverpool side and Pep doesn't win 4 league titles in 5 imo, they're too nice to each other.

Pep had the better of Jose don’t know how you came to your conclusion, how many league titles did Jose win with Madrid?

Did anyone else notice the marvellous masterstroke from Gerrard yesterday:

72nd minute – Coutinho subbed off for Nakamba at 0-2

76th minute – Gundogan scores to make it 1-2
78th minute – Rodri scores to make it 2-2
81st minute – Gundogan scores again to make it 3-2

83rd minute – Danny Ings subbed on to try and rescue the game for Villa

Thank you Steven Gerrard...

“Ohhhhh ya beauty!”

Can Madrid beat them?
I think Liverpool have looked a bit less potent recently - so a few weeks ago it was a feeling that Lpool would hockey Madrid , now I feel maybe it might be a closer affair

The way this jammy Liverpool season has gone, when do we find out that Everton are docked points for their violent invasion and are relegated? And City are docked points thus Liverpool complete their null and void quadruple?

Sleep well United Fans of Manchester City, but not too well just yet.

I'd prefer we didn't ban any of the regulars.

This place would be boring without the scousers to banter with. Speaking of which, where art thou @GlastonSpur

We can give Liverpool all the crap we want, but they are still miles ahead of us in terms of football at this period of time.
Suppose it’s a good way for some people to make themselves feel better

Had a Liverpool fan telling me yesterday that if they win the champions league there treble is better than what we did because no-one has ever won the 2 cups and champions league

Can you even really call it a double or treble if it doesn’t include a league win?
It's another Aldi treble like they did under Houllier. They would be swapping the UEFA Cup for the CL so it could be regarded as a Lidl treble. How you classify it depends on which discount outlet you like best. At the end of the day you'd still rather be shopping at M&S.

You’ve been gifted the position you’re in by constant favourable decisions and other teams being denied fair decisions against you.

Be grateful for your 2nd place finish to the refs that helped you achieve it.

Oh how the mighty have fallen ;)

Have to say I was very disappointed that they didn't win it yesterday. Looking forward to the UCL final now and will be happy with either outcome

Technically, they have done a quadruple, just over 4 seasons:

1x CL
1x PL
1x FA
1x LC

Will they bring their Covid season PL trophy for the scheduled parade?

Also @MUFC OK hope you are OK! The amount of your posts especially in the last month trying to convince yourself and everyone else how the quadruple was written in the stars must be a record and extremely tiring I can imagine.

That just comes across as bitter and RAWKish. We’ve been the second best team in the league this season.

Mate of mine who's a Liverpool fan and was at the game said it was absolutely gutting - mainly because he didn't expect anything, and then to expect it and have it ripped away was tough - which I got 'cos it was pretty much exactly like that for us in 2012.

Still a termendous season for them to win two, probably three cups. Can't wait for Klopp to feck off.

Oh, see Salah also won goal of the season, which would probably have got my vote too to be fair.

Not bitter! Joyous mate. It was beautiful how it unfolded - like a rose.

You have been the 2nd best team - but it’s the constant favourable decisions that took you that close.

With normal decisions you’d have been about 5 points behind them.
