Or yesterday reports are true, Xavi told him the board aren't impressed with his performances....so this was his response.
Yeah come and join Utd to make them regret not playing you in your favoured position

I am not liking this transfer one bit. We were promised new era but we are again begging a player to join us who doesn't want to be here. I rather finish 5th with a upcoming talented player who wants to be here than finishing 5th with a player who is not convinced to be playing for us.

What young talented players who want and are convinced to come here given how shit we have been for almost a decade?

Why not finish above 5 instead?

Famously the only two possibilities.

3 days ago he said we have opened direct talk but now we haven't?

Are we benjamin button of transfer?

I feel Romano is not the guy for this transfer. All he does is regurgitate the players want for UCL football and provides nothing else.

I’m sure he’ll be the first to let people know the deal is agreed though and the contract details.

Yeah I would say it's the top Barca sources and possibly Verweij as well

I do not know the answer to that but from what reports are telling De jong is not keen to join so why keep on pursue him and waste time.

Because at this moment with or without dejong I see us finishing 5th unless eth can do some magic.
I don’t. We’ll finish top 4 is he does some coaching (which is something we haven't had for a few years)

No. The report says he prefers to stays at Barcelona. There is no report says he is not keen to join us if Barcelona is selling him due to financial problem. So to answer your question why keep on pursue him? Because he will be available and he will need to find new club, thus, why we are offering him the project we have under ten Hag. He can't just retire from football just because Barcelona are selling him.

Hasn’t failed yet. In fact signing FDJ could be key to him succeeding
:) :) ;)
Nice to have a half-full kinda guy in the forum instead of the constant whinging we get here!! Refreshing.

But as they say; it's the hope that keeps you alive. Unfortunately, it's reality that kills you.

Thanks. I just remember the great playing relationship they had for Ajax. They knew each other’s game inside out. Imagine if ETH could unlock that for United? We’d have such great balance in the midfield. Let’s hope we get FDJ

Repeating what's already been said by other folk but who would be the ideal and realistic DM to partner up with Frenkie?

The guy is an absolutely phenomenal player and if we get him I'd be ecstatic, but we really need to make sure that we can use him to the best of his ability.

There is an entire elongated discussion about the same subject way back with some differing views.
For what it's worth he was paired with schone while at Ajax and if I were to give my two cents i reckon a player in kante's mold would do well by doing the necessary leg work for him.

It's to be seen but perhaps Fred could perform that role for us.

For god sake just move on to the next one.

He literally doesn't want to come here. It's quite pathetic chasing a player that clearly has zero interest in us.

Yeah this is a point definitely lost on some in this CAF, signing him is key because it will definitely attract other players to Ten Hag's project

Why is it that there seemingly is no other club trying to sign him? 60-80M sounds reasonable for someone with his talent. I’m assuming his wages might me an issue? 300k+ from what I’ve heard (might be wrong).
Because there's only a few clubs who could be.

I think Nagelsmann wants/wanted a Frenkie type at Bayern, but they don't tend to spend that kind of money and are already bringing in Gravenberch for 20m as someone they can form into that player instead.
I'm sure PSG wouldn't mind him, but he does overlap quite a bit with Veratti.
Juve could obviously use him considering their midfield but they're going after the free Pogba instead.

It just leaves premier league sides, of which Chelsea have too many players of his ilk already (with De Jong falling somewhere in the middle of Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante in terms of skillset)

It basically just leaves City, who are the only ones I can see coming in for him (I think he'd be great alongside Rodri, but it would require change of shape by Pep) but as a club it seems like they only go after a player when it fits exactly into some plan/place they have for him, rather than simply because the opportunity's there (Although maybe not so much with Grealish?)

But yeah you honestly have just one potential rival for his signature and that's a picky City.
In terms of other United rivals: he'd be a good replacement for Xhaka but why would he want to go to Arsenal right now? And why would he believe that Conte of all people would finally let him play his own game?

Edit: completely forgot Liverpool exists

would be an interesting player for Liverpool but only if for some reason they decided to move on from Thiago

Doesn't that say about the situation even more, the fact your own employer wants to sell you and the other employer wants you but even then you want to stay there.

Again I could be wrong about the whole thing and he in fact joins us with full happiness but I am skeptical because of our past decade of failed transfers.

Kante is a completely different kind of player to what Schöne offered.

Kante is a roaming player just like De Jong.
Fred similarly is more of an active presser type from what I've seen.
You want someone who holds position around the centre circle more.

Alternatively -- and being more proactive, someone needs to try and rob his house in Barcelona.
