I really think we should make the twitter thread rules consistent in every redcafe thread. Sick and tired of seeing fake shit journalist tweets clogg up every thread.

Ruud has the best name ever: Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij. Like, what?
Pretty sure he's about 87th in line to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

so it looks like this is the one saga then for the summer, the one player that we will feck about with all summer, the one target with no back up plan.
The whole window will be wasted on him and we'll end up with Neves and some fecker from Swansea

Very strange post considering we seem to have made a breakthrough and be close to a deal on the day that the transfer window opened.

That's according to Catalunya radio who are said to be very reliable. And they're said to be reporting a fee between £50m to £60m.

Teams with top players to sell all want that sugar daddy money. What City or PSG pay for a player isn't related to reality, it's about offering more than any club could offer having to use their own profits only (perhaps Real can still reach these fees too).

United tried to wade into these waters as well, and we could afford it, but we drowned.

Did we ever get a player other top teams were fighting over with this extra spending? Maybe Pogba? It seems to me all we've really done is take players from the level below the top, like Maguire and AWB, and got suckered into paying top player money.

Barcelona have bankrupt themselves trying the same thing, and they did get players other top teams wanted. As good as De Jong is, his contract is poison for them. If we relieve them of that contact, it should come at a discount.

Paying the likes of Pogba and De Gea oil sugar daddy money has damaged our wage structure, we often can't sell our excess players because they're on too much money, and it means a Lingard gets a giant contract too just so he doesn't feel unappreciated.

Our wage bill should look more like Bayern or Liverpool instead of City. We just need a competent DOF.

Reads very hypothetical instead of actually providing new information of their own.

They were holding out for £68m initially, we probably came in at £40m~ for an opening bid.

if we agree within that range then we have met halfway and good business from us!

Who are these sources? There was once a time where you could only post very reliable sources on here but it seems a free for all these days.

Are we just that desperate for some good news that the mods are allowing it or what?
Extremely, even if it means posting 20 tweets all saying the same thing from different sources, with no real substance

Anything less than £70m is decent business in the current market.

Obviously with a fair chunk in add ons. Something like £50m up front.

This will be our best signing of the window by a country mile if we pull this off. If you told me we would even have a chance of getting him a couple months ago I would’ve asked you where you buy your LSD from.

Think he plays in Serie A. Could be a good option at left back for us.

Yes @pocco. Which source is false?

Adnan posts good stuff
I think there was one ITK source that was posted earlier, but apart from that the rest have been Laurie Whitwell, Sami Mokbel, Jason Burt, Catalunya radio etc, who are reliable journos/media outlets.

I normally never do this but was fecking bored had an early idea for a song for the cnut should he arrive.

To the tune of Hey Frankie by Sister Sledge.

Feel free to add or edit.

Hey
Frenkie - do you remember Donny?
Frenkie, do you remember? Do you remember Donny? Frenkie
You watched him on the telly
When he sat on the bench or in the stand
You looked into his sad eyes
And you said to yourself we coulda have been grand
Hey
