He wouldn't have been asked that question if he was going to City. Weather seems to be forgotten when it's Pep.

I mean he hasn't lived up to billing but they've not really been utilizing him in the right way, plus they have Pedri, Gavi etc so their midfield is in good hands still without him.

I wouldn't read a great deal in to it, they are a largely fickle fan base with next to no loyalty towards players who aren't homegrown anyway.
Interestingly there’s a few on there not happy and see this as the club basically pushing him out because he’s not Spanish/Catalan in exchange for those sorts of players. One or two of them actually blame Xavi and Laporta specifically

Does ETH need to romance him a little bit more or is it the board holding up the deal? The tweets haven't really changed much over the past few days, just the same regurgitated stuff

True, how many more games do the dutch have left?
Last game is Tuesday vs Wales.

I feel like I’ve been here before multiple times before though, we wait for internationals to end and expect some movement but nothing happens other than the usual cycle of tweets stating it’s close/not close, bid/no bid. Player goes on holiday, so we wait for player to return from holiday before anything can happen with they cycle of tweets continuing.

Hopefully it will be different this time.

Definitely this and don’t forget ETH said he wants players back on the 27th for pre season, but those who have int will be given an extra x2/3 weeks this could drag on till mid July as Frankie goes on holiday you’ll get all the usual “seen with a fan saying he’ll stay” and all sorts of nonsense way too early for a big move like this to be finished. Lots of cash to be made on socials etc.

Obertans #1 fan.
Having lived in Manchester for 5 years the one thing you can’t argue with Is how crap the weather is. Never known so many grey and miserable days. Everything else I love about it though, but man the weather is grim. Moving to London was like living in France weather wise by comparison.
Absolutely no chance.

I think once we complete this signing our next signing should be sangare. That would be our midfield sorted then. Then we should go for a cb and a st/rw should come last if we have enough money left. Don’t forget we still have diallo who can play on the right and easily develop under a manager like ten Hag. Midfield and defence must be a priority. Let’s make us hard to play against first and then focus up top later on. Aslong as we can keep clean sheets we’ve always got a chance of winning games with Ronaldo up top.
We need reinforcements for forwards considering the number of players who have left. There will be no Cavani, Greenwood or even Martial who seems likely to depart.. our only senior forwards are Cristiano Rashy and Sancho.. we definitely need a player there on priority. CB can probably wait..

I’d agree if ten Hag can get a tune out of Maguire and get him back to his best football. I do think ten Hag may offer some chances for young players next season. Each manager we’ve had since fergie has all had at least 1 young player who they’ve called up and relied on. Think with ten Hag it could be garnacho/diallo.

I especially chose to look at this game last night. Wanted to see both Timber and De Jong as we are interested in them. Well I was not impressed with either. De Jong was in the refs face all the time, until he was eventually booked. Timber was taken off in the second half with Van Gaal saying his legs were gone.
We will need someone alongside De Jong to win the ball as he is not the bravest in a tackle. Maybe Sangare or a tough tackling DM.

Spot on! People have this weird obsession whenever Utd want to sign a player from a sunny climate.

Yet when it’s City it’s no issue atall.

Any links to strikers we are interested in?

People are over-analysing this massively.

He mumbled something in his second language because he was under pressure. He could even have got 'creo' and 'puedo' mixed up in his mind as he was trying to think.

This is happening.

I think diallo is very far down the list of players who will break into the first team. Absolutely stank at rangers for the part last season.

Call me crazy but I like the climate in the NW of England. Nothing too extreme, pretty mild all year round. Yes it can be grey and wet quite a bit but not nearly as much as people make out.

Great conditions for football. Who wants to run around in 30 degree heat.

I meant Fred-DM-VanDeBeek. It looks like crap on paper (depending on who the DM is) but VDB is better than Klassen and he always looks decent for Ajax and the Netherlands.
Ah ok. Fred is much better as an 8. I don’t think we have seen the best of Donny in a Utd shirt, his chances were few and far between. Depends who the DM is. Somebody like Matic (same style of play) would work well. I agree Frenkie will do wonders for us though.

That’s Euros chap. It equates to £68.3m which personally I consider a reasonable price for a player of Frenkies quality.
considering its costing £85m Im not too concerned about the fee for FDJ.
Brilliant player and considering we spent £50m on Fred this is a steal.
