Not quite, he is a DLP but not a DM. He’d need a Kante, Fabinho or Fernandinho type next to him to excel, I think he’d be poor alongside someone like Rice tbh.
I’d take any of those guys, I suppose. I think you’re wrong about Rice but forget that idea, we’ll never cough up the dough for him.

Whether we sign FDJ or not, we absolutely need a fit, mobile, aggressive, clever DM, and I’ll take anyone who ticks those boxes (over what we have now).

Okay, you’ve got Emile Smith Rowe and Odegaard, Madison and Tielemans, Lanzini / Soucek /Rice, Neves / Moutinho, Bentancur on the Spurs. Hell, I’d be nervous having him run against the likes of Conor Gallagher.

There is absolutely nothing , and I mean nothing, in his performances for United or Everton, that show that he has the physicality, speed, confidence, or defensive mindset to play at the pivot with de Jong in a 4-2-3-1. He’s played roughly 2000 min for us and another 500 for Everton.

Donny Van de Beek’s future / ceiling in this club is solely as a squad option as the No.10. At this point, he’s a poor man’s Shinji Kagawa.

Is he a terrible player? No. But he’s best off playing in Spain for Espanyol or Serie A for Fiorentino, much slower and less physical leagues.
The same with Schone.

I still think there is a chance Ten Hag will start with Donny at no10. Bruno will then play LW as a free roaming attacker while Sancho stretches play on the RW.

Essentially Shaw and Sancho are the two stretching play while Donny gets into the box (as his movement and timing of runs is his strength). Bruno has a free role to cause chaos.

Sources in Holland won't be as accurate as sources in Barcelona when it comes to reporting on Barcelona's boardroom secrets.

In fact, I don't see how anyone in Holland would ever get to know something so sensitive. It's not a detail that would be revealed to any third party - let alone those linked to the player or his agent. Nobody involved in the upper echelons of a business would ever leak that information.

That said, I don't doubt everything coming from Mullock's sources. The stuff about FdJ himself could well be accurate. It's plausible that somebody from his home country would know how the player is feeling about his potential future.

Why are Barca tryna negotiate? There in no position to… there obvs desperate for money as they’re letting fans play on there pitch and get married at the ground  They should be biting our hands of for 60 mil. That’s a lot of money that will help them out a little.

I see this as more possible than playing him at the 6 alongside Frenkie. If anyone can rehabilitate Donny, it has to be Ten Hag. Pretty sure that’s not a side that wins much silverware to be honest. Maybe a midfield diamond with Bruno supporting the strikers and Donny on the right and Fred on the left? Sancho and Ronaldo up front? Again though. That means Donny is tracking pacey wingers and FBs and defending deep. I really think Donny’s game is more suited as a 10 in Italy and Spain where there is a lot of clever touches around the box, less pressing, more time on the ball, less physical, etc.

Oh, great. Another transfer rumour originating in Portugal.

Honestly, the Portuguese football media must be the worst in the world. They make up 99% of their news in order to satisfy the business interests of their clubs/agents. It's borderline incestuous.
I can’t remember which of the outlets is semi reliable O Jogo or E Bola.

Barcelona signed him for 75M EUR, (£64M), think it's only fair we match that price and get a deal. Similar to what that Mullock feller is reporting.

Nonsense from you.

Barca do NOT have to sell him. And of course they should negotiate if you really want him.
Right now the board is choosing to because they want to upgrade their attack with Lewandowski.
Why? Because of the pressure and expectations from the fans and surroundings. The demand is huge in Barca, and given the fact that Laporta essentially “lost” Messi he wants to acquire a “superstar” player. This pressure is accentuated by having to watch your rivals win the Double.

But... they won’t do it at any price (as you’ll learn with Alemany) - so United shouldn’t feck around and keep low balling if they truly want de Jong. There is a limit, and Barca won’t sell at any price (this first offer, if true, is a joke). If it comes to that they’ll just keep Frenkie and try to get Lewandowski next summer on a free.

Barca will activate economic levers soon, which along with the selling of squad players, allow them to register the players (Kessie, Christensen) they get on free transfers.
Now if they want big names like Lewa, Koulibaly etc. then they need to sell De Jong.

Barca got good production from Aubameyang since January and he’s still under contract for another year. You’re getting Ansu back and he honestly looked fine yet obviously not match fit during the last matches of the season.
Barca will get plenty of goals next season.

You could let Barca stew but Alemany won’t really like that, so if you want Frenkie you really shouldn’t push it too far.

you reckon that's fair? They need to sell and we have a clear run at him. I think we'll get him for under 60m.

Hmm. Wasn’t aware that Schone played for United and Everton in the Prem. When did this happen?
Quit fooling around because I know you are not stupid to understand that my post was referring to Schone the guy who was FDJ's partner in 18/19 playing in ten Hag system which aka our current manager right now. We are not playing in Lampard or Ole or Ralf system. We are playing in ten Hag system right now so the midfield ''style'' discussion was based on how ten Hag wants to build by using what he has built as reference.

I’m in the let’s-not-feck-around-again camp and what’s needed to bring Frenkie so that we can get our other signings sorted before training begins in July.

Interesting how the Holland/Poland game went (sloppy performance, but great spirit shown). FdJ marked and not trying to get open, but moving forward and letting the backs do the building up.

A lot of balls over the top, which seemed to be the game plan.

Meh. This makes far too much sense. I'd rather get worked up about Tiers of Clickbait and complain about players not wanting to join Manchester United for the consistent glory we achieved almost two decades ago.

"Listen here you little shit. I made you into the player that you are right now. I am your dad. Your club doesnt want you and need to cut players wages in order to have enough budget for the canteen lady to make biscuits. Compare that to United, where I, the Erik Ten Hag is brewing something that will change the world of football and you can be the core of that revolution. So will you accept or not? and before you answer I dont take no as an answer."
