Interesting to know, so many fans from around the world, so many other sports and teams - so who are your other sports teams!

  • NFL - NY Jets: First place I ever visited in the states was Met Life stadium in East Rutherford for the Bamboozle festival in 08. Saw the Giants were half decent team and didn't want to be seen as a glory hunter with my UK NFL mates. So picked the Jets - to this day they ask me why
  • College Ball - Michigan: My best mate got me into NFL, him and his brothers were ibssessed with it and with college ball. Now I'm nowhere near as into college football as I am NFL but I've had the privilege of going to Ann Arbor to see Michigan play live in a local derby match with 112k people. Was incredible experience, tailgating with local fans and they're now my defacto team.
  • MLB - New York Mets: like the Jets, wanted a team to support and couldn't ever pick the Yankees. Followed the Astros as they were in the world series when I last stateside and watched the games in local sports bars, great atmosphere. After they got caught cheating, switched to the Mets who are having quite the season so far. Really enjoying this season and following it a lot more closely.
  • NBA - Houston Rockets: Team I picked when playing early basketball games, liked hakeem olajuwon but don't really follow basketball until the playoffs tbh.
  • F1 - McLaren: Uncles were massive F1 fans. When I went to the London Science museum I think in 98/99 and saw the new silver McLaren hanging from the ceiling I was transfixed. My family were Williams supporters and loved Damon Hill. My uncles would only smoke Rothmans cigarettes as they were the livery
  • NHL - Colorado Avalanche: again in rural England, US sports seemed so cool, the Bulls were global, MJ a superstar and Space Jam came out. Mighty Ducks etc. I didn't get to go stateside until I was 21, but my mates did (Disney etc) and would regale me with stories of the place. We would then choose our teams and try and ceefax/Teletext the results. I was a young goalkeeper at school and would try to find out about goalies and really liked Patrick Roy so I picked the Avalanche.
Who and where are your other teams?

Aberystwyth Town F.C - Played for them

Newport A.F.C - When I lived there went to games when Swansea were away. Don’t support them but watch them once in a blue moon and follow the results

Tranmere Rovers - Family member played for them for years. Less fussed on these compared to the other two but got a soft spot For them.

Don’t watch much other sport other than football these days.

(Swansea not United for me)

Feyenoord and the Chicago Bulls. Guess I really like the red/white/black color pallet.

I got into the NFL when I was a kid and instantly took a liking to the Dolphins. So my first team was them then I decided to root for all the other Miami based teams too.

Watch a lot of sport but the only other which has a team I support is the NFL and I support Dallas. At the time I started to watch the NFL I was making my way through the King of the Hill collection, so I'm a Cowboy purely because Hank is :wenger:

Rotherham, Halesowen, Brighton and Salford in football as they've all been my local team at various points.

Lancs, Worcs and Sussex in cricket for similar reasons.

England/UK/Europe in various sports for nationalist/anti-American ones.

NFL - Green Bay Packers. My first experience of NFL was something like Madden 08 on PlayStation. I was flicking through the teams and stumbled on the Packers All Stars which was the best team in the game. I guess that makes me a glory supporter of sorts.

Football - Whenever England inevitably go out in the quarters I’ll always switch my allegiance to Holland. Have always had silky players that makes their games entertaining.

I have a soft spot for Green Bay, the Lombardi story reminds me of SAF a bit. Also love seeing games in snow.

So I try not to support anyone else as it ruins the game. I’m United obsessed but outside united I can’t enjoy football. Genuinely can’t appreciate good football as I hate rivals haha.

I do often back a horse in individual matches but I try and enjoy the purity of other sports. The sports I love are NBA, Tennis and recently F1.

I’d probably be a huge Bulls fan if they were good. Their MJ history plus my wife being from Chicago. Chicago is my second city now so would support them for NFL too.

NFL - Packers. Can't really remember why I picked them other than playing as them on an old Madden, would've been mid/late 90s, and it just stuck. I now have a bit of a soft spot for the Eagles too, since my gf got into the sport and picked them as her team (and she picked them entirely because of It's Always Sunny, which is a cooler reason than me picking my team because they were good on video game). I don't watch much college ball, but I keep an eye out for how Michigan are doing.

NHL - Red Wings. Visited Michigan when I was a kid, my parents had some friends who moved out there. Every bar and restaurant we went to was Red Wings mad. Watched a few games in some sports bars, great fun, kept following them ever since.

Rugby League - Castleford. Lived in Pontefract for a bit when I was a kid, so it was either Castleford or Featherstone, and obviously I made the correct decision.

I keep up with how the Phillies are doing, even though I find full games a bit tough to watch. I'll keep up with their scores and watch the occasional highlights. Don't really know why I picked the Phillies, for a sport I'm not even a big fan of. Weird.

I have teams and people I like in a variety of sports but the ones I’d call out as a proper “fan” other than United are:

NFL - Patriots. An odd story but it all started when someone told me Madden was actually a good game and so I thought why not, gave it a try. The only player I really knew was Brady and so kinda went with them and been a fan since. Having grown to really enjoy the sport because of its tactics, I’m at a stage now where I follow it more even than Football. This was all around 2010/2011 I’d say.

F1 - Ferrari. Just always liked them, dad liked them, and grew up watching Schumi.

Went to New Orleans last year to watch Dallas @ Saints and the folk I told that from Dallas thought it was mind blowing.
Love that! Had similar at Michigan, people just couldn't understand three lads from a small town several thousand miles away would be tailgating in Ann Arbor. Was amazing.

I'm the same, almost enjoy NFL (redzone) more than the PL.

Awesome. I have no right to say this as a fair weather fan but apparently Avalanche battered your lads?
Absolutely hammered us last night. Probably was our worst playoff loss ever. Thank god we are heading back home for the next two days as their barn was rocking the past two matches.

Bulls haven't been back on it for a while, how are they doing?
First playoffs this year in 5 years so that's a plus. Season started great with DeMar DeRozan firing on all cylinders, but the second half of the season was slightly disappointing. Lots of injuries, so our defence went to shit. Lost against the Bucks in the playoffs, which is fine.

Hopefully with a fit team they can improve next year. I feel like the team is headed in the right direction.

I enjoy this about American sports, the draft and expectations are tempered.

Incredible. I've been out of the loop so long I had no idea Lightning were so good!

Think it was the Blackhawks and Kings the last time I was checking!

NFL - Denver Broncos
NHL - Pittsburgh Penguins.

Both for the dumb reason of liking their logos when picking on the respective Mega Drive games 30 odd years ago.

Other Football team - Rangers.

Only other sports I follow are Cricket and Snooker. Cricket is easy - it's always been Lancashire and Nottinghamshire. Snooker is a bit harder as it's an individual sport, so players come and go each generation. Currently I'd say Judd Trump and Jack Lisowski are my favourites. Though there's plenty of other current players I like, such as Neil Robertson, Michael White, Luca Brecel, Ben Mertens, etc.

Don't really follow any other sports/teams in Europe because I couldn't be a fan of another club, but always been fascinated by American sports because they are so wildly different to what I grew up playing. So:

NBA: Grew up with MJ's Bulls seemingly as the only team worth following. Stopped following the sport for years until I went to Miami years ago and got to see a match (Wade was awesome) - after that I was sold. Hardly an expert, but always check for Heat scores and news since that visit. A soft spot for Steph Curry so happy GSW won when Heat missed out on the Finals because of Celtics.

NHL: Favourite team was/is Detroit Red Wings. Sergei Fedorov, Steve Yzerman and red kits - the choice was easy. Although I idolised Mario Lemieux and his story, so always wanted Penguins to do well. At the same time had an irrational hatred for Jagr for some reason, probably because of their internal battles when it came to the scoring/points title

NFL: Don't really have a favourite team but I guess I like the Miami Dolphins purely because of Ace Ventura:D

NBA: Golden State Warriors. Been in the states for close to 40 years and when I arrived had no interest in basketball whatsoever. A friend got me interested in watching college basketball and because he said it was one of the best conferences I started watching the Big East. At the time Patrick Ewing was playing for Georgetown, but the player that I really liked watching was Chris Mullin of St John's. I just couldn't believe the shots he made. I followed Mullin's career throughout college and when he was drafted by the Dubs started to follow his career in the pros. I've been a fan of Golden State for over 30 years.

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays. When I first came to the US, the Jay's AA farm team played in the city where I lived. I used to go and watch them when I could get to a game and have been a fan ever since.

NFL: Washington Redskins/Commanders. The first Super Bowl I ever saw when I was still in Britain was the Redskins and the Dolphins in 1983 which the Redskins won. I didn't have a whole lot of interest in the NFL at the time, but I thought if I was going to go to the US I might as well follow American Football and if I was going to have a team might as well pick the best one. I have been a Washington fan ever since.

MLB: Washington Nationals. I caught a baseball game about 10 years ago on one of the sports channels and said that's my team. We had a great year in 2019 and it's been all downhill from there. Plus they play in red

I don't follow any other sports but have a soft spot for the Knicks and Penguins through various videogames.

Basketball: I have a soft spot for the Magic because of Shaq and Penny. It also explains my hatred of the brilliant Bulls team of the mid-90s.

College football: Clemson and Notre Dame. Basically my whole family supports both teams as well. My family’s been Clemson fans as far back as I know and my grandma has been a Notre Dame fan since the 1950s, and the rest of the family jumped on when they offered a scholarship to a kid from our hometown named Tony Rice and won the national championship with him.

College wrestling: Iowa. Clemson cut their team in the mid-90s and since I got into the sport, I have always loved Iowa’s hard nosed mentality and wrestling style.

MLB: The Boston Red Sox. My little league team when I was young was the Red Sox, so I started always watching them and picking them to play as on my MLB video games. I’m the only non-Atlanta Braves fan in the family.

NFL: The Denver Broncos. My dad’s a Broncos fan, so I became one too.

Golf: Tiger Woods will always be my #1… but there’s several other guys I like watching too. Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, and Victor Hovland mainly.

Raith Rovers - second football team because they're local. Also because feck the Pars. Rose to fame recently by hiring a guy charged with sexual assault and once famously let Nicholas Anelka's brother give us £100k so he could become manager, which went as well as you'd expect. Players used to walk out to Barbie Girl for some inexplicable reason. If you think I'm weird then you've never been to Kirkcaldy.

Fife Flyers - ice hockey team. Oldest in the entire UK, even older than some US and Canadian teams. Stadium always smells like shit chips. I remember the good old days before they had safety glass installed and pucks would frequently fly past your head and smash against the back wall, or someone's face. My favourite memory was me and my mates flicking the Vs at a bunch of posh Guildford fans who were taunting us with their shite chant "Guildford, Guildford" (presumably written by the same guy who writes Chelsea songs) constantly until we came back from 4-0 to win the game. cnuts.

Chicago Bulls/Bears/Blackhawks/Cubs (Jordan, and find it crazy people go with other cities, especially if you born and live in actual decent American cities, just why? For instance, a common one, New Yorkers who don't actually support New York teams are mad to me, legit why? You are gifted with New York ... and follow say, the Lakers... 3000 miles away?)

Lancashire CC and Wigan Warriors.

England(and Wales Cricket) national teams.

The ‘Run TMC’ GSW teams were a joy to watch.
