Honestly think we would be better off without him. Still plenty of time to replace him with younger player, who will suit ETHs style on half the wages.

Yes Ronaldo scored goals but to the detriment of the team e.g. see last season as the perfect example of this.

Suspect ETH will be fine with this.

What he will do this time? Just cry and moan? Or again slave comments? Or his dream is to play for PSG/Bayern?

And all of you who say that "WE don't deserve Ronaldo", can go with him.

Probably the best for both sides imo. But who's gonna take him?

Fernandes scored 29 league goals in 54 games (0.53 per game) before Ronaldo arrived, he scored 7 in 33 after Ronaldo arrived (0.21).
Rashford scored 28 league goals in 68 games (0.41 per game) before Ronaldo arrived, he scored 4 in 25 after Ronaldo arrived (0.16).

If the team plays better, is more balanced and most importantly sorts out the midfield, then the team will score more goals, they'll just be spread around.
Yes. Good stats.

Legend for sure.. but he is hardly the solution.. he is 37.. papering over the cracks.. we needed a replacement anyway... this might force our hand now instead of going into the season dependent on him.. who knows when he hits the wall.
Real Madrid legend yes

It’s barely news or in any reality going to happen as no other club will pay his wages or make an acceptable offer for Ronaldo thus meaning he’s staying next season, it’s simply Ronaldo being Ronaldo as even though I’ve always loved him as a player as a person he’s extremely needy and struggles if he isn’t centre of everyone’s attention.

No one has spoken about Ronaldo all summer and all the talk at the club has been on ETH coming in, Pogba leaving or potential transfer targets so this is Ronaldo trying to get some spotlight. Once we complete the De Jong deal then Eriksen, Antony, Martinez and Malacia all come in too the feeling around the club will be much happier and Ronaldo will get on with the incoming season.
Agreed and it's one of the main reasons why we need to get rid of him.

Tuchel and Ronaldo:lol:

If Ralph couldn't make him press, good luck with Tuchel. He is nicely building something at Chelsea with Sterling and a right winger set to come.

Bayern would be his best chance but I doubt Nagelsmann would want him.

If lowered his wage demands he could back to Portugal and win the league there. He's never won it and it would be a fitting end to his career, he could also boost his goal tally in the CL.
He's on £500k at the moment, so he'd have to drop probably to at least a fifth for that to happen though, which I can't see.

Let him go, move Rashford up top and tell him if he doesn’t press higher up, he’s sitting on the bench and watching the World Cup from his couch.

I completely agree with Alex Shaw and believe we'll score more goals as a team next season without him and function much better as a unit with and without the ball.

Agreed. We're best getting rid

Sanc7o or 7ancho

I can kind of understand his reasoning tbh, the club should have been looking for this end themselves, he’s on a kings ransom.

Blessing in disguise. Most importantly this is huge for ten Hag.

They only player that was a threat on his authority is Ronaldo. EtH looks like a my way or the highway type of coach and he'd have to cave in just to appease Ronaldo. We've seen what Ronaldo is like when he gets subbed or doesn't start and its a terrible attitude and undermines the manager.

Now hopefully we can sign a forward that can press and doesn't want his teammates passing the ball to him when they're in better positions to score just to keep his stats going.

It’s a pity as I think he would have done well under Ten Hag at times he looked like he could bag ton’s of goals from the 6 yard box, if he can make Haller great then Ronaldo would flourish. Let’s wait a week or two until he’s in training before pissing our pants..

Weird how so many are stuck on the "he loves the club" comment.

As much as I’m not particularly bothered I’d really hate to see him play for Chelsea or any other premier league team.

He's massively rich and if he really wants to achieve success more than wealth he'd have to lower his demands unless one of the big guns come in for him.

He has 3 options as far as I see it

1) hope a big team who can go far in tournaments and pay him a lot wants him. (not a high possibility).

2) stay at United, earn big wages but probably not win much and leave at the end of next season

3) leave for a team in the champions league but one that will pay him less

I don't think this story comes out unless Ronaldo knows an offer is incoming, the problem for us is replacing him in an already difficult summer transfer window.

Happy to see him leave, but…how far off are Hugill and McNeill from being ready to contribute?

Him leaving would be terrible. With a functioning team he would still be massive for us, hope it's fake.
