Mate we are no length in to the transfer window, it only opened a week ago! We've signed one player, and are very likely to sign eriksen, Martinez and De Jong. The window is going just as well if not better than nearly all the other clubs in the league.

And the window is open until 1st September ffs, nearly 2 months from now, so get a grip seriously.
To be honest, think I need to take a break from all transfer related news and just see what we're dealing with come first day of the season. All beyond our control.

The fact that none of the reliable Chelsea journalists have said anything should tell you something. If things are heating up with us and any target you would have seen something from Matt Law, Ornstein, or even Romano.

That is ridiculously illegal if true.
Would have to be the spanish equivalent of a settlement agreement. If De Jong agrees then he waives his right to the rest of what he is owed. Until then, he has the right to it, assuming he was entitled to as much under contract.

Sadly @pocco doesn't see this.

Until that changes I'm still very confident.

I reserve belief on the Chelsea news, but as a player I would have serious reservations about moving to Chelsea until they start to replace some of the players they have lost

What have the best sources said regarding the deal?

Also you're very welcome to put me on ignore if you don't like what I have to say.
Who would you consider the best sources? You were all foaming at the gash over Romano tweets until he poured a bit of cold water on it all. Simon Stone has just repeated what other journos said about 4 weeks ago. If you ask me, none of them have a clue. If Barca are open with their journalists then either a) Chelsea are seriously in for him, or b) Barca are putting pressure on us, or c) Barca want to keep him.

It's all guesswork from anybody posting on RedCafe as to who genuinely knows.

So Relevo(?) "broke" the news and Romero, like clockwork, seemed to confirm it. No one else has reported it or even acknowledged it and it was posted around 3 hours ago.

Definitely sounds like a Barca pressure move

BBC is generally considered to be the most reliable source there is for premier league transfer news

Gerrard Romero says they are, he's the guy that has been on this since before anyone knew. Tier 1 Barcelona.

Romano basically just agreed with the Relevo post and said its confirmed. No one else has said anything so God knows where its been confirmed? As I say, if there was genuine interest there would be news now

The Chelsea stuff is laughable unless Jorginho is leaving. Good luck trying to play them two in a midfield.

There's nothing wrong with being positive about this, especially in the sea of negativity on this place lately.
I get that, honestly. Even though I get dragged into debates that make me look negative. But I also want to talk about something without it being instantly dismissed simply because it doesn't fit the agenda of certain posters.

Look at you resorting to petty name calling. Good for you.
You questioned if I even support United  You're acting like a child over this whole thing. I hope you're not just some kid at your first transfer rodeo actually as I'll feel pretty bad about calling you out.

Sadly @pocco doesn't see this.

Until that changes I'm still very confident.
I've said we need to wait and see if it's genuine. I just don't feel the need to try to surpress negative info. Are you Vladimir Putin by any chance?

He’s also the guy that said it was 95% done way back in May. That was obviously horseshit.
Romero only puts out what Barca want him to put out, that's why most in this thread believe that this Chelsea link now is just a pile of manure, it's to put pressure on United.

The fact that he's the only journo doing it, and none of the well connected English journos, especially the Chelsea ones, are saying anything tells you everything you need to know here.

Love the idea that Barcelona will pay De Jong 3.5m, but ask him to forego the rest.

How much are these wages for goodness sake?!

Hope Barcelona goes bust. I used to have a soft corner for them because of La Masia and Messi. But the nerve of them signing new players while not paying back what they already owe to players who have accepted pay cuts.

Yeah, I just think the saying you have for-go it to move seems unlikely to be enforceable. Might be wrong, but I think that's litigation city.

Not sure why everybody is panicking, didn't the Barca boss say he wasn't for sale anyway? :wenger:

I imagine domestic journalists have currently gone in to a frenzy attempting to corroborate the reports that Chelsea are in for him. So I guess we'll see what comes out a little later this afternoon and I'll decide whether I zip back up from there!
