United would foot a big chunk of his salary, but at least ETH wouldn't have to deal with building a team around Ronaldo. Best possible outcome for Ronaldo. Out of all the CL clubs, he can see himself play for, Sporting is probably the only one who would be willing to commit all 10 men to service Ronaldo.

Would a loan move mean he couldn't play against us if they dropped down into Europa League?

Or is that whole loan player stuff just Premier League rules?
That would actually be comical. Leave United because he doesn't want EL, then end up playing against us in the EL.

Doesn't make any sense though, does it? I get he's desperate to play CL but with Sporting he'll play 6, max 8 games in CL next season. And going to Portugal after being publicly rejected by Chelsea, Bayern and PSG ( true or not that is the public perception now), makes it look he's done at the top level. Would he be happy doing that?
For him? Not massively, I guess. But like you say he’s been rejected by everyone in the tier 1 so if he wants a move it’s going to be a Sporting level club.

For us? A loan isn’t ideal but it’s still very good for us to get a massive player out of the club who doesn’t fit the way the manager wants to play.

He will end up at Sporting eventually. His goal and his moms dream is to see him play for Sporting again but I don’t think it will happen this summer.

I guess that's one way to try to put a romantic spin on literally every top CL club rejecting him

Going back to Liga NOS when he's still got a season or 2 left at the highest level is a joke though especially with his rival Messi playing in a bigger league.

Sporting aren't going anywhere, he could be 45 and they'd accept him back. Would be a shocker going back coming off a 20+ goal season in the premier league

On the one hand it gives him his beloved Champions League and a chance to go back to his first club but being so desperate to leave United at any cost looks pretty awful. Guess some sh*t went down in the dressing room last season as I don't think it's just a champions league issue anymore.

He’s got one more year at least before he goes back to Sporting

No way should United subsidize his wages for Sporting when he's the one who wants out, if he goes he should negotiate whatever they can afford.

Every top club rejecting him is rumors. The only real interest was getting him to Bayern imo.

No other club makes sense because everyone has a striker. It was either Bayern (if Lewa left) or staying at United.

However since Ronaldo is the most famous athlete in the world and on social media his name is naturally being thrown around like click bait for people to gullibly believe everything they read and get multiple clicks. His name is instant news because of who he is.

But naturally the glue eating kids will believe whatever the media puts out.

Their are and have only ever been 3 options

1. Going to Bayern if Lewa left
2. staying at United
3. Going to Sporting

Ronaldo has also gone through a lot in his personally life In the last few months and by all accounts that seems to be true.

Carry on.

I think he was expecting some clear out of the squad that didn't happen.
Very rich of him to think that will happen and him a 37 year old would survive.

Well considered he is the best player on the team it’s normal he would survive if he chose too.

Got a feeling we may be stuck with him for the season.

Can't see ten hag picking him evey week, think his best role will be bit part/super sub, will Ronaldo and his Ego accept that? Probably not, unless he can find a team who will take him there may be rough waters ahead.

ETH's first big test in terms of man/squad management.
I think he will be better playing once a week, as a starter, rather than being used as a super sub in several games as it would allow him to have better recovery. The thing is I don't see many options for him to rotate but yeah, is part of the managers job to manage his ego and minutes having in consideration there a lot of games in the season and what's best for the team.

Joining Chelsea was a legitimate option too.

Bruno is the best player in Man utd all things considered.
The likes of Sancho are the future, Ronaldo had a great career and is still a good player, but its FALSE he's united best player.

That went and died so fast that I highly doubt it. Naturally he was rumored to United’s rivals. Causes controversy.

As I said their were only 3 options on the table and I’m convinced he stays at United.

I love Bruno but last season it was very clear Ronaldo was the best player and the stats showed it. United struggled to win without him last season.

I don't see us agreeing to paying Ronaldo anything if he wants to go on loan to Sporting.

Has to agree to a major paycut, we'd have to be insane to agree to anything less than 100% salary and a small fee.

Ronaldo is now on about 360k a week for us due to the 25% wage reduction for not qualifying for the CL.

Not sure Sporting can get close to even that reduced figure and if we agree to pay half his wages to play for then then my word what a joke.

Actually not bothered about him leaving though. I think we will work better as a team without him tbh

Football goes beyond last season, compare the impact both had when they arrive.
Bruno led the team into the champions league and finished second the next year narrow loosing the UEL.
The less said of Ronaldo impact the better...
