I understand that much of this is genuinely out of the hands of the club, but at what point do we call this a day and bring in another player instead? I think the time might be now. We can’t afford a full season with our current options.

Others saying he's mad for chasing him even though he's very likely had many assurances that he'll come to United if/when the issues at Barca are sorted. So we spend ages trying to agree a fee and payment structure with Barca, knowing full well that the issues lie on their side with wages etc, just to say "ah screw it, can't be arsed anymore, lets leave it".
I love how people want to walk away and go for someone like Neves and Tielemans, and when they're absolutely bang average for us they'll complain and say we should have waited for de Jong... especially if he goes elsewhere and tears it up
