Who is actually losing their shit? There are a few people in here who are concerned about the not existing progress on this front and the seeming not existing plan B. Some would stop pursuiting him asap, some feel there is a huge need for a plan B to fall back on, as the outcome of this is pretty unclear.

Maybe you should end your shift, don't get me wrong, but you and this Plant guy must be responsible for around 25% of posts, it is taking its toll maybe. There is something in between your sort of optimism and negativity. I thought you would recognize it, as it was very apparent in the Ole days.
Maths not a strong point I see. 25% of 39584 is 9896. Myself and @Brownie85 are on a combined 2181 which is about 5.5%. Nice to have a bit of recognition though.

Hang on... are you really telling me i should stop posting on this thread because i'm confident about him joining? Thats a new one to me.
a) Of course I am not. I was wondering if maybe your shift in here is taking its toll on you. Interpreting what happens in this thread as "people losing their shit" to me could be sign of wear and tear.
b) What would you say, how many posts have you made in here today? I wouldn't label that level of commitment as confident - but my language skills are very limited so theres that. And by the way, other people have been asked to take a break as well. Seems to be place where people care for each other.

Lets just please not repeat that shitty circle from a year ago, where we had the same beginnings... "you are soooo negative", "nooooo you are toooo positive" . It is starting already, and your description of people sharing their concerns as losing their shit and melt downs isn't really steering things in calmer waters.

Deferred payments are wages that are already his by law, but has been held back for a period of time. You can't have someone else pay you the wages your employer owes you.
It’s very unlikely that Barça actually owe him the money, it’s more likely the contract is structured so that he will earn the higher wages towards the tail end of his contract. In which case he hasn’t actually earned the money yet.

Wrong. He already deferred a large percentage of his wages due to low revenues as a result of covid.

It was meant as a compliment to your commitment. Thanks for providing the actual numbers, If I had known, those are available, I promise, I would have used the correct ones. 2000 posts in a single thread is delivering my message just as well.

Where can I find those numbers?

Why are they calling it deferred wages then? If that was the case, surely it would be reported as a backloaded contract?

a) people saying the transfer is dead and that the club and manager should be ashamed because of wasting their time on a transfer, just because of a tweet, mistranslated from looking satisfied to looking happy. That caused a lot of people to say it's over and we should walk away.

b) why does it matter how many posts I've made in here today? I'm enjoying the conversation and discussion and have no intention of going anywhere. I'm sure if the mods had an issue with my posts or the amounts I'm posting, they'd tell me to stop or quiet down a little.

He's been told he will be a bench CB, in complete contradiction to his own statement about how LVG plays him better than Xavi, he's been told by Xavi and Laporta that he will have to lock in permanent wage cuts, lose his COVID pay reduction and balloon payments, and try to make a World Cup squad getting 20 mins every few weeks as a CB sub.

yet some of you are taking the word of a Tier 5 has barca gospel to argue he's happy to stay? Seriously, why are you here to post? At this point it has to be pure WUM.

They can’t afford to pay him that’s the whole point. If he signs a new contract it has to be for half his wage.
Can’t or won’t? Barcelona can afford to pay Frenkie what they agreed to pay him. The problem is that they no longer want him at the wages they signed him up for.

Frenkie of course can sign a new deal to cut his wages in half, but there’s still the problem of the club no longer wanting him.

Don't think, people coming in here to share their stance is only due to this single tweet. Probably more connected to a few more people in the tweet being active arguing with the majority position on here. I wouldn't expect all people to not know how twitter news are handled, most of them know that just as much as you do. Well and you have explained it around 15 times only today :)

Tbf, it seems to be multiple sources saying that he's satisfied to take a pay cut.

If he still wants to stay at Barcelona, I fear his brains are like Griezmann’s and there’s not enough cells to power an LED bulb.

Can I ask honestly why you still think he's coming? Have we heard anything positive regarding this move in the last few weeks?
Sure. Simply because we have heard ‘nothing‘ at all in the last few weeks. The last meaningful update from trusted UK sources like Ornstein was that we had agreed a deal with Barca. Granted we still had to agree with the player but the price and structure of the deal is in place. It’s my belief that we wouldn’t have got that far without sounding out the player first to make sure he was up for the move. Especially as the manager has a previous and personal relationship with this particular player.
Since then all we’ve had is regurgitation of the same bs - mostly emanating from a Spanish source(sport) that is a Barca mouthpiece and itself has flip flopped and contradicted its own stories more than I can remember.
Until we hear that either club have pulled out, or Frenkie himself puts an end to it I have no reason to believe it won’t happen when all the pointers go in one direction, that Frenkie cannot stay at Barca.

Such an odd saga this one…there has been nothing to get excited about for about the last 300 pages haha.

Fair enough. Personally I think we haven't heard anything because he's staying at Barca and is just trying to figure out how to make it work.

At least we'll see an end to this soon.

All recent reports suggest Xavi has had the conversation with FDJ, God knows why it's taken him so long. This coming week we'll know if he's staying or coming.

Personally I've lost hope, there's just too many red flags and negative reports.

No issue whatsoever, but as we speak about going personal. I am sure you understand why such posts aren't received well.

People are literally loosing their shit over a report from some random guy in Spain, with no other reporters backing it up or even mentioning it. However, in true Caf format, it's negative so it must be absolutely true.
So people, when can we expect the brief from United that we've pulled out and won't be going after him anymore? We won't cos this is pretty much BS and if it was true, it would be being reported everywhere by now i'd imagine because it's a complete 180 from him reportedly not wanting to take a pay cut
Sorry boss!!

It's over... walk away... move on... Neves... Tielemans... Screw Frenkie.... Feck Barca....

Did i do it right??

I wish people would see these reports for what they are. People garnering quick clicks and views from people desperate for news
Screw the board... Sack Giggs, Sell ten Hag!!
Oh of course! Screw the Glazers!!

More to the point, who is the guy that released these reports that we're melting down over? I read he's some crappy tier 3 guy, and to my knowledge i've never seen him tweeting about this saga up until now??
None of the regular sources (Romano, Romero, even fecking Sport) have mentioned this, and you can be sure they'd hop it wouldn't they?
People are getting paranoid about the "left the meeting looking satisfied" and are reading too much into it.

How do people know what was said in the meeting if people only saw what they looked like upon leaving? How does someone look satisfied?? I can be seriously pissed off and look absolutely fine on the outside.
I agree.
We all need to be negative, for its the correct way to be.

Nah I'm staying and I'm remaining as optimistic as possible

If this is going to happen, it’s going to go all the way to the end of the window. Barca don’t want to back down and pay him what he owes and obviously he doesn’t want to lose out either.
Knowing Barca, they will do some ridiculous deal like pay him €1m a year for 17 years.
