Are we realy comparing Van Dijk to Antony and Sesko? We got praise for waiting for Sancho and not panic buying an RW like Sarr
I am not comparing any player. I am saying that if the manager or club want a specific player, then getting alternatives is a stupid idea. I think that's how we ended up with Telles and I'm not in love with how that's played out.

It depends on the player and the alternatives available. Every single club has signed alternatives to a primary targets. Nothing wrong with that

This. If this was CITY they would have signed him & loaned him back to Salzburg by now. Only with Man Utd every signing is complicated
How are City getting on with the signing of Brighton's left back? Did City manage to sign Kane last year too?

This obsession with thinking other clubs get signings done quicker is weird.

Have you even read my post? Very much doubt it. Never said getting Eriksen is a bad thing. Just that the window hasn't been good enough by any stretch of imagination. Anyone claiming otherwise is simply delusional. Eriksen's best position is where we have Bruno. We got Malacia when we have Shaw. We got Martinez when we have 5 CBs. What we didn't do is get a CM when we have feck all there. What we also didn't do is get a forward when we have even less options there. How fecking hard is that to understand?
What was you expecting from this window?

We need a striker. He's at an age where he could be an understudy for a couple of years yet also looks to have the ability to force himself into the first team. I'm all for signing him. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any noise about us getting him.

I must admit that I do like the look of this kid from the limited amount I have seen.
Good feet quick and looks like a hard worker....reminds me a little of a young Benzema.

Honestly if we don't find the perfect CF, going for a talent like Sesko and build him up is the way to go. Top clubs signing teenagers isn't uncommon. Madrid has done that with Vini Jr, Rodrygo, Camavinga. Barcelona with Pedri. PSG with Nuno Mendes, Hugo Ekitike. Liverpool with Fabio Carvalho, etc. He seems to got everything to become a top CF under the right guidance and we got the perfect manager in Ten Hag. He has already played on pro level, so it's not too early imo.

Is he even that raw? Admittedly it’s only from YouTube but he doesn’t look that bad. Could imagine only his finishing being abut frustrating to begin with but he’s silky on the ball and massive so can’t imagine strength being a huge issue.

Really? I couldn't remember if she was Slovenian or Slovak, so I went with Baltic. I guess that's a no-no?
Jesus Christ. So you knew she was either Slovenian or Slovak and you went with Baltic? You do realise none of these two states are part of the Baltics?

Anyone else watched much of him? Impressive against Liverpool this week in preseason.

Hate jumping on a bandwagon but he does like tidy for the tiny amount I've seen of him, tall, fast, agile, composed and strong - Potentially very high ceiling but I think a lot depends on mental state so hope we do proper due diligence rather than panic buy

Name you’re looking for is the Balkans, easy mistake. In any case, I have 100% faith in Tier 1 Balkan GFs :wenger:

Edit: Neither Slovenia nor Slovakia are part of the Balkans either, so I guess we’re both daft:lol:

He looks quality. High energy, big guy, quick feet, dynamic around the box. Has some similarities to Haaland in the sense that he looks physically dominant of those around him.

Saying all that, that’s probably why we won’t get him. I doubt he’s not on everyone’s radar. Very exciting talent though

Others clubs are more decisive with their dealings than Utd. We've seen that for most of the past 10 years now. In recent times i can only think of Malacia transfer the quickest.
City, Bayern, Pool & Madrid are very prompt & quick with their transfers in general.

Has anyone seen him play much in the Austrian league? He has 24 apps 5 goals. Perhaps not operating centrally till just recently? He's still only 19 so I'd imagine very raw, but curious to know how his potential is

Watching him, he has an innate sense of when to strike the ball that catches keepers out. On top of that, he looks like he has formidable strength for a teenager and a very precise first touch.

Whilst these qualities make him look really exciting, I can’t help but feel a bit empty when you see a player like this. We had, arguably, a much more complete homegrown talent coming through until recently. It pains me so much that he ended up being the garbage person he is, not to mention the genuine emotional and physical pain he is responsible for.

I would love to see us sign a promising young striker just to get rid of the air of ‘what if’ Greenwood left behind when he chose to be an abusive pos.

He looks very raw to me from the clips. Good pace and works hard but shit touch, shit link up and has the feet you'd expect from a big man.

However the club's striker targets recently (Haaland, Nunez) have been pretty good. So I'm hoping someone in there knows what they are doing.

Is there anything to the media watch part of the Man Utd app?

Does anyone follow the Austrian league? If so, why hasn't this guy scored more goals? Was he a sub for most of the time?

Seems to be the case these days. Page after page of just people saying they want him with no credible links. So weird that people are like “too good to be true” what’s too good? We’re not signing him.
