It's obviously not bothIf we sign both, great. If he is instead of Frenkie then deeply and depressingly underwhelming.

Star trek leverage
Not to mention he’s a Mendes client. feck him for the shit he and his main client have pulled over us this summerNooo, not Neves. Our midfield would be so lightweight. We need press resistant players.
I don’t hate Neves, in any other scenario I’d be buzzing to have him- genuinely admired him for years at wolves, but if it’s at the expense of Frenkie who is a dream player for our team.Ya think? de Jong is better, for sure, but Neves is excellent too. Fred, Neves and Bruno as a midfield 3 sounds pretty good to me. Ideally we'd get 2 CMs, but I'd take Neves in a heartbeat.
Even though I’d love to sign him because he would be a big upgrade on McFred, I fear he’s not going to be as good as some on here expect him to be.The FDJ saga is one of the most complicated, contradicting transfers, ever. He better be worth the wait.
Neves gets dominated by the top 6 midfields especially if Chelsea acquire De Jong. Can you imagine how poor that would be. That line up vs De Jong, Kovacic & Mount.Ya think? de Jong is better, for sure, but Neves is excellent too. Fred, Neves and Bruno as a midfield 3 sounds pretty good to me. Ideally we'd get 2 CMs, but I'd take Neves in a heartbeat.
A de Jong/Neves midfield would be interesting. A huge upgrade on what we already have. I'm a fan of Neves and can see him working out, so to get both would be immense. Can't see us spunking that amount of cash in one window on our midfield. That would...just make too much damn sense. If we sign both, great. If he is instead of Frenkie then deeply and depressingly underwhelming.
Is Melissa Reddy essentially reporting briefs directly from the club?
You have to wonder why they bother? Saying nothing at this point seems like the best option if they are continuing to pursue.Yes I think so

Stranger things have happened. It's obviously not both
Feck.Simon Johnson of The Athletic did, and he's Tier 1 for Chelsea. Before him, Jacob Steinberg reported something similar, but no one else has besides those two.
If they weren't quite confident they'd be preparing fans whenever they had the chance. They still truly believe this might happen. And they know more than some Sport rag.You have to wonder why they bother? Saying nothing at this point seems like the best option.
"Quite confident" hardly gives off an air of success after such an expensive chase, it only contributes to peoples frustration if it doesn't happen too especially days away from the season starting with some reports even saying they should have moved on weeks ago as United aren't an option.
Isn’t this lad meant to be generational. Why are we not in for £15mil?Tweet

Chelsea definitely not getting De Jong
Just go ahead, you piece of shit.
I guess it makes sense for Chelsea more than us? They have a decent set of midfielders currently and are likely mapping out next season and beyond. We need a player in now (De Jong) and have a few of our own prospects EtH may want to look at further.Isn’t this lad meant to be generational. Why are we not in for £15mil?
Seems cheap, we would have been quoted 60 mil.Tweet

You really think Chelsea signing an 18 year old midfielder means they've decided against signing De Jong? Whether they are genuinely interested in FDJ or not, I assure you Chukwuemeka's signing will have no impact on that interest whatsoever.Tweet

He was good as The Joker in Batman. This Romero guy is an idiot.
We don’t need more clunky movers in midfield. Neves has an excellent long range pass in his locker, but he doesn’t come close to offering what strengths a potential Frenkie deal will.Ya think? de Jong is better, for sure, but Neves is excellent too. Fred, Neves and Bruno as a midfield 3 sounds pretty good to me. Ideally we'd get 2 CMs, but I'd take Neves in a heartbeat.
That looks like an Ole midfield right there. Neves is slow and doesn't carry the ball. Good at pinging it up to our pacey forwards thoughYa think? de Jong is better, for sure, but Neves is excellent too. Fred, Neves and Bruno as a midfield 3 sounds pretty good to me. Ideally we'd get 2 CMs, but I'd take Neves in a heartbeat.
#MUGAWell that's it confirmed then.
Ruiz is a better optionWe don’t need more clunky movers in midfield. Neves has an excellent long range pass in his locker, but he doesn’t come close to offering what strengths a potential Frenkie deal will.
Very good.#MUGA
It’s quite obvious in this signing they are looking at their future midfield not the here and now.You really think Chelsea signing an 18 year old midfielder means they've decided against signing De Jong? Seriously one of the greatest scenes ever.I just imagine the club is run by this guy from Boogie Nights and everything they do starts to make sense.
Best offer I’ve had all dayI’ll gladly buy you several pints when I’m in Dublin if I’m wrong. Best money I ever spent if it means De Jong joins.
Was that with the Asian guy walking around throwing popper fireworks?Seriously one of the greatest scenes ever.
