If there is it's not obvious, and you should know that because we're historically terrible at this.
ETH doesn't come across as a dumbfeck. So, then you can assume that he would have a Plan B like most people with above-average intelligence.

I think this De Jong to Chelsea is a bit of a smokescreen for Barcelona to get United to pay the 17m of deferred wages.

Just looking at the midfielders currently on Chelsea's books. They have at least 6 decent players that play in FDJ's position.

Jorginho
Kante
Kovacic
Mason Mount
Havertz
Ziyech
Pulisic
Conor Gallagher
Loftus Cheek
Ross Barkley
Billy Gilmour
Kenedy
Did you get that midfielder list from Fantasy football?

It's not ETH that I doubt. Most people with above average intelligence would understand that what I'm concerned about is our board's involvement in the transfer deals.

How is the board at fault here? They are clearly being supportive and signing the players that ETH wants. Dutch or those with an Ajax connection so far.

Secondly why harp on the past? There is a new DOF, a newly created position, a new manager, new CEO.

If you think the Board of Management of United is involved in the details of the transfer dealings -- then you don't understand why there has been the delegation or divesting of authority and responsibilities and therefore accountability to start with.

This isn't Woodward's transfer process.

If this deal does not come off i would say its 60/40 on Ten Hag/Board, what we should of had is a plan and cut off for the player.

A date for the deal to be done, if we reach that date we have 2 options, pay the 17m deferred wages or walk away from the deal because each day that passes allows other teams to come in for him and each day that passes reduces our chances of getting a back up option, now we will get rinsed on a deal for a back up or get rinsed by Barca for unpaid wages, its bascically poor planning from everyone at the club.

I have to say, if we take the SPORT news as gospel, then the fact that he’s now ready to make a decision doesn’t bode well for us

Another example of people at United being more concerned with what people write about them than with improving the team.

If you can't get De Jong get someone else and move on. De Jong is not the only midfielder on earth better than Fred as a deep laying playmaker.

Fans aren't simply frustrated that United haven't got De Jong. We are frustrated cos there is no plan B (and not even a plan A for right back, right wing and up front).

For people with money… There’s a lot of nice areas around Wolves. I’m sure the players don’t live in Willenhall.

Add me to that list too, though I'm no yam yam.

Whilst Wolverhampton should be miles from the top of a best place to live list, there's been a lot of regeneration over the last few years and it's fairly decent and I do agree the people are nice, though I think that can be said for most of the UK personally.

I stopped by the famous pastry place all the Portuguese players hang out after training one time on a hangover, even that area is awful (admittedly it’s right in the middle, around the corner from the awful train station).

Today Genuinely is Frenkie Friday. One way or another.
Frenkie Friday is here... well, according to Sport, the ultimate bullshitters.
They have about as much knowledge of things as we do. Or they're tugging the Barcelona line and reporting every little thing they tell them too

Maybe I'm just negative. But this so strongly reminds me of the year we dicked around over Sancho all summer then ended up panic buying two teenagers who still haven't even managed a productive loan spell between them

It likely just means the issue between him and the club is resolved?
We don't even know whether Chelsea are truly interested, or even willing to make a bid with how much they're already spending.
If they're after Fofana and possibly Auba too, they're going to be spending upwards of 300 to 350m this summer... thats insane

I struggle to see how anybody can claim the club have somehow dropped the ball with this one, we have had a bid accepted and are hoping that we can attract the player who apparently has other options.

The point at which I will blame the club for messing up the transfer window will be if we don't get him AND we fail to sign a midfielder. At this point, the player could choose to go to any other club, or stay at Barca, and that is not the clubs fault, nor is it embarrassing.

Are they stupid? People are rightly calling us out because of our insistence on waiting it out for something that is out of our control. For the lack of movement on other deals (are we even trying for anybody else?). Because we are heading into a new season with a starting 11 that was unthinkable to everybody before the transfer window.

There are many reasons the club are being called out over this. I honestly worry about us - nothing has changed at all.

We trust Sport now? Don't be surprised when absolutely nothing happens today.

No, not at all. Sport are the most unreliable bastards that i can think of at this moment in time. Literally everything they've said has fell flat, so i don't expect this to be any different.

Wouldn’t have thought so, however with Barcelona supposedly close to signing Silva, they’ll need to do something significant regarding FDJ to be able to register players. They have less than 2 weeks to get their affairs in order.

We finished 6. If that’s as bad as it gets I think we can relax a little.
Statistically it was our worst point tally in PL history. We needed West Ham to lose on the last day to even finish 6th. Nothing to relax about with the money that this club has spent.

What have I said that is wrong? The club thinks fans blame them for what is going on at Barcelona? They're so out of touch it is beyond belief. Frustration is growing for a variety of reasons, which are all culminating in a horrendous situation for ETH. As somebody said in another thread, if ETH fails then where do we go? We should be pulling out all the stops to make it work. Can you honestly say we have done that?

This needs hammering home. Some fans are on a zombie like autopilot ‘our board is crap, we are in competent just because’. It’s a lazy narrative especially when it’s sooo easy to be patient and just see what happens. Benefit of the doubt people.

Why do you need to blame our club? If it doesn’t come off I’d say it’s on FDJ and Barca for not sorting their shit out. It’s not a situation we can really affect. The only blame out club can have levelled at it is if they don’t strengthen at all because of this, which I find highly unlikely.
