The more pages are added to this saga the more I hope Frenkie is coming.

And now it isnt just about Frenkie anymore, its becoming about life.

In years from now, people who contributed to these pages, in the face of difficulties whatsoever, will encourage themselves and others by uttering these words: #FrenkieCame
I believe.

Hirst said that (A) De Jong is the only midfielder in mind, no alternative and (B) United/Ten Hag wanted to wrap up the De Jong deal back in the last week of June - https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...e-de-jong-transfer-in-the-next-days-fnn5w0qw2 - that's how bad it has gotten and dragged on.

Didn't close the deal out. It's dragged on for a long time. In the end, don't get him.

We're gonna have to move on from this.

Fernandes/van de Beek/McTominay/Fred/Eriksen and Mejbri/Garner is a decent unit to go into this season...scrapping for the fecking Europa Conference League.

The one from Hirst is the only one I've seen and that looks like it's based from Harry's interview quote I'd imagine
Oh come on, you are burying your head in the sand if you think that's the only negative tweet we've had regarding this transfer.

To make matters even worse didn't he hint that it's FdJ or no one?

I didn't think it could get this bad. To chase a midfielder for 3 months and fail is unforgivable but to then not have backup options? you have to laugh.

#ForeverMcFred
We lost Pogba and Matic to boot. I'm guessing we will see Zidane fill in from time to time. Eriksen is not the same type of player as Pogba and Matic and we already know how shit McFred are. Someone should have forced ETH to watch every United game from the past 3 seasons.
What's Carrick up to these days?

One of the more interesting pieces to the FDJ saga is there seems to be staggeringly little from his camp. Most of the sources seem like either leaks from us or Barca..and theres been almost nothing from his camp directly on the matter.

To me this means genuine indifference (not in a bad way). If you know either option is a possibility, then the last thing you want is to push too hard for one outcome publicly. Because of this I imagine he would like to stay...but is also equipped to leave if he needs to. If he was dead set on staying, he would surely be publicly proclaiming his love for Barca consistently. And if he was dead set against us...he would say it. He would say I would love to stay, but I certainly would need a CL team or a team in Germany if I ever left etc etc...a clear knock to us without proclaiming it directly.

This all points to a relatively pragmatic process behind the scenes, even if us muppets like to try and add multiple layers of intrigue. Barca has publicly said they want him to take a pay cut. He clearly doesn't want to and hasn't. We've heavily implied we have interest. So there's been some direct information.

Hes implied...nothing.

So I would imagine that means he's trying to work out staying...while also understanding what that would look like if he refuses to take a pay cut (clearly his preference). But, he also doesn't want to burn any bridges, and would likely be open to a move to us (and probably others too) if staying at Barca with his full salary becomes untenable. All of the Man Utd leaks proclaim confidence in him deciding to come if need be, so I doubt he's totally against it. So there it is...simple...largely unsexy. But seemingly fitting the timeline and scenario IMHO.
Are you really responsible for Pogba’s styling and colouring. That’s what I want to know

I tell you why!
ETH is another Glazer puppet in charge.
He supports players we know are dross.
He insists on players who dont want to come.
He will just create another Pogba situation if you ask me!

It's ridiculous!
Do like me and dont start to trust and stand behind ETH! If things will go wrong, we will be the first who are right!
Somebody's pissed off that ETH left Ajax. Let it go mate.

I wonder where he got that information from. Wouldn't happen to be based on Harry's info would it
I wonder even more when people are posting a serial bullshitter and taking him seriously, feckin embarrassing fans lapping up his shite.

I will miss the thread

I’ve had a really stressful few weeks in work and have enjoyed popping in every hour or two and it’s been fun to read

Fair play to all the regulars, you have entertained if that counts for anything

That’s… not encouraging in the slightest. The club has to sign an alternative. ten Hag can’t be silly enough to think this crop could do something successful in the league.

Also, remember when we didn’t sign any players in January to fund the budget for the summer? Well we’ve only spent about 60m so far.

Neves to show his skillazos for us. Delightful little summer.

Clutching at straws but the only saving grace is that it may have been conjecture on Hirst's part rather than him reporting what a source had told him. But do journalists like him really engage in all that much conjecture in articles like that?

And if that happens, Mendes pockets his well earned agent fee for that move, after embarrassing us all summer long with his current client at the club. I love this game, man.

This summer window has been so bad and humiliating that somebody needs to lose their job for this.

Like seriously we are already a laughing stock after last season and this summer has brought us down even further.

Clear as day that somebody isn't capable of doing their job and needs replacing.

Lage mentioned in the press conference that Neves is basically not for sale except for the right price, which is expected to be high.

That reads like conjecture now that you provided the full article. I was thinking that there was some new info that came to light, but nope, it was a precursor to ten Hag's quote about de Jong.

You should have given up on this one before today muppets. It makes it more funny than painful.

The writing has been on the wall for weeks. If he wanted to join us, it would have happened by now.

Difference is that if we want Neves, he will press Wolves to accept an offer. As opposed to Frenkie fecking us over.

I'd rather get Keane back - he certainly knows how to quieten these Haalands at the noisy neighbours!!!

Those Redknapp quotes are the end of it for me. I said this when this saga started, for whatever reason we can never get top players in this position. Its gotta be a curse or something. Was really hoping he’d come and to go to Chelsea after all this is a real stab in the chest. Ferk this crap, hopefully we beat them twice and finish above them.

So now that puts him at odds with Mitten who said we DO have alternatives and we'll start looking at them. So who do we believe here?

Do we believe Hirst who says it's de Jong or no one, or Mitten who says it'd 50/50 and we have a list of plan B players?

I don't know if the site's rules allow for it, so fair enough if they don't, but is there any chance we could get a transcript of the article? You don't get the full picture from the aggregators.

Hirst is a very reputable source so it's not fantastic either way but it'd be considerably less bad if it's his opinion.

A lot of it is conjecture, but more and more reliable journalists are starting to drop those sorts of lines — that’s Hirst, Simon Johnson, and I think Jacob Steinberg(?) have all said something recently that read negative from our side.

The saving grace for us is as you say - these do seem like either throwaway comments or opinions rather than full blown pieces - but it is starting to get a bit iffy, no?

I've been quite positive about this one for some time but I'd say it's getting more than a little bit iffy at this point.

Unfortunately this is the price we pay for being mediocre so many years. Even a giant of our stature will slowly become less attractive for footballers this way. 10-15 more years of no success and the new generation will only havr read about our success or seen it in old yt videos.

Now we belt out our warcry and go to bigbig war with wolves for Neves.

So at what point do United say enough is enough then? Because the club still seems to feel confident, well as of yesterday anyway.

If what's being reported is true then I think the club needs to step in and say we're done. Otherwise they're going to pay a heavy cost in fan image

How shit would it be for him to join Chelsea from Barca. Most shitty career move possible. While United is not in the CL this year, it’s a no brainer.

He is probably just doing what his gf wants and yeah, he definitely should not.

That said, I think it’s all bullshit. We will get him in the end.
