Outstanding game management.. when was the last time we did that?

The character and personality that has been developed so far this season has been outstanding.

Long may it continue.
Its the first time since SAF where we SEEM to have a manager that knows what he's doing. Van Gall kind of new what he was doing, problem was he was insane.

Get in there.

Fantastic result. Nice to see Arsenal continuing their trend of constantly having their bubble burst at Old Trafford when they are doing well before hand. Muppets. Nice to see they remain the most counter attackable team in the world as well

Buzzing.

Do people who call our manager stupid before the match starts and our game shit, slow and predictable, 15 minutes in at 0-0, celebrate the win as well? Afraid damage is done for a part of fanbase, no turning back. Maybe watching more City, PSG and Real would help and make people see that even the best of teams struggle in some games and definitely struggle during some periods of a game.

Was a tough match. Thought they were better for most of the match to be honest and our full backs struggled for large periods but we managed well despite that which is a real positive. No panic, kept our heads, ground out a lead and punished Arteta's poor choice in the 2nd half. I'm impressed.

The importance of this win cannot be overstated. Our fixture list is just brutal and this was kind of a must win and we were able to do it. So happy. Hands held up on Mctominay for the first time. He was absolutely immense today. Actually he and Eriksen were brilliant.

The lethal counters of the early Ole era are back. We just need more control in the middle of the park. That is the next stage of our evolution I think.

I have not seen the game but from what I heard Rashford had a good game and Erikson was outstanding.
Arsenal shot themselves and we took massive advantage
They were playing alright. Rashford didn’t do much and then for some reason their defenders tried to defend from the halfway line
Give rashford that much space along with Bruno’s desire to play killer passes and they were asking for trouble

Eriksen is just such a clever player, a club like us should always have a player of his ability in the middle

Great to get the win but we were taught a real footballing lesson today IMO. Foundations are there, but we have a long way to go before we look like what I’d call a top football team. Arsenal looked like one today, but thankfully we got the result. We’re currently better without the ball than with it.

Malacia got done by Saka. But he is young and he will learn from this.

What's encouraging is, he didn't drop his head and he recovered as the match went on.
First time I thought Malacia met someone who can match his energy and got the better of him. But Saka has done that to other players, just got to learn from it

EtH and Roy Keane both talking absolute sense. Unlike bumbling Merson.

To be honest, not quite sure how we came away winning that by a couple of goals. Thought they looked very good at times, creaks started to show, we were quite wasteful and when they equalised I thought that was it, they'd be the ones to go on and win. It's so good to be wrong at times!

Another great finish from Rashford when clean through. It would've been 'don't look' time not so long ago but after his goal v the scousers you could actually feel confident. Loved how when everyone was celebrating McTominay was in there and pointing to his head obviously giving a 'screw the nut and concentrate' message. Erik has really changed the mentality of the squad and that's why we won instead of getting cuffed as we would not so long ago. Great stuff and we're only going in one direction.

Lovely end to the weekend. Arsenal the better team for long periods and I thought we would fold at 1-1 but in the end we could have scored 5. I’ll take that all day long.

Needs a start, and that Europa game is brilliantly placed for one.

It'll feel mad seeing Wan Bissaka-Lindelof-Maguire-Shaw as the Europe back line!!
Yeah and strange as it sounds I think the Europa games are going to help EtH out in year one. Gives him a great chance to sort that depth.

I think it’ll take a season or so for us to actually be the aggressor in big games and not just rely on being a counter attack transition side. We’re getting there. Signs are very positive.

Monumental performance against a very good Arsenal side, particularly their attack. We are still a work in progress, but the key thing is that our mentality is on point along with our solid defence

And killed himself by reducing our squad to next to nothing, meaning a couple of injuries meant we were into the likes of Donald Love, Blackstock, McNair etc.
Plus backing a on the wane Rooney as his main striker.

I hope we don’t let the great result cloud our judgement of the game. Minutes 35-65 were absolute garbage. Lost all control and couldn’t keep the ball at all. No title challenging team should ever be clinging on in the early 2nd half with 22% possession against trash like Arsenal.

People talk about mentality but there is something wrong with the way we lose all control after taking the lead in games. Thanks to Bruno and Rashfords combination in the 65th minute though, we got the mental reset to see out the rest of the game.

I really love Martinez and Malacia mentality, both have never give-up attitude.

Keane winding every one up:

“we’ve given arsenal a lot of plaudits today but I was never interested in that, I was interest in the points.”

Merson: “yeah but there’s a way to lose Roy, you don’t mind losing like that”

“oh great, have a sing along on the way home then”

What a strange match. We played very well first 25m and then pretty equal rest of first half. McT’s aggression and mentality was essential and Arsenal struggled when we were tight on their midfielders. I also liked Anthony’s attitude out there.

Many positive signs. On our best we are very good, but our bottom level in this match was to low. We were outplayed in the beginning of second half, but Arsenal was to inpatient for their second goal and we scored. Felt Arsenal was on their way to kill us.

Malacia struggled more than expected against top class players. Shaw on his best is an better alternative, but not sure he’ll be there again this season.

Also heartwarming to see us dish out some dirty, meaty, shithouse tactics. Tackling hard, pushing shoving, just knocking the poor dears off their game. You love to see it.
Yes and this has always been my question re: Arteta. I think he's too nice. Great tactician for sure but a little too weak on the leadership side for my taste.

EtH seems to have a nice mix of the leadership/tactics. He's like a bulldog, mentally very strong and this team is taking on his personality.

What do they mean that it wasn't a foul on Eriksen? It was a push and a clip!

I actually feel Eriksen was close to MOTM today - he was involved in everything we did.

Fantastic game. Really buzzing here. Antony got his dream debut and the usual crew very solid as ever.

Feel good for Rashford especially. He is gaining his mojo back and focusing on his strengths, and delivering.

Ten Hag feels like the manager we should have had since Sir Alex retired, this finally really feels like a new beginning.

Just before the game, Bet365 advertised a "bet booster bet" that match result will be ManUtd, over 3 goals for both teams combined and Marcus Rashford to score at anytime. With 10 euros bet, I am now 200 euros richer. Thank you United :D

Great Result! Up to 5th now. Hopefully Rashford and Martinez aren't too badly injured.
Martinez at least walked off smiling, so hopefully just a tightness from that mad clearance just before.
Hoping Rashy was similar.
