His fetish for Eriksen in a position he clearly can't play in, is a bit strange to say the least.

HELLO
It’s the third or fourth time we’ve went too light away from home. I thought City would’ve reigned the lineups in a bit.

The drama queens on here would genuinely sack him if they got their way.

Starting a nothing player like VDB and starting Ronaldo as captain are very questionable decisions

I love ETH but this is a huge step backwards.

He's repeated the mistakes he made in his first two games.

Casemiro might be a better player than McTominay but he's still not a one-man midfield.

We can blame everything on Maguire if we like but no CB can defend when there are huge gaps everywhere

Rashford cant play on the right. Eriksen cant play CM. Ronaldo.....havent got anything to say that hasnt been said a million times...

Worrying decisons and a bit of a reality check for where this team is at. There's no goals in it so very game is a struggle.

Been some very questionable decisions lately i mean talk about setting an example. You got a declining player who refused to play and walked off the pitch after being warned and a couple of weeks later is rewarded with the captaincy pff.
It's pathetic especially after the way Ronaldo has treated him. It's like letting a man sleep with your wife, then you put his name as beneficial owner to the house.

This is the kind of submissive bullshit Ole would have pulled.

Strange line up. Giving C.Ronaldo the captaincy is just lunacy.

Hardly surprising to see a poor team performance when Ronaldo is made captain, can’t think of a worse captain given his antics of the past 4-5 months.

Really unfortunate that Ronaldo has won a battle against ETH but I guess he had to cave in due to massive pressure. But instead of having 1 man who can't run anymore, we decided to add another one in VdB who is walking and hiding from the ball entire game, like he usually does. Playing Rashford on the right is also a very known fact to be a complete waste. I believe in ETH but today he made a lot of mistakes IMO and the result so far is on him.

This game and the one on Thursday have been awful selection and formation choices from ETH, I get he managed to get a good player out of VDB at Ajax but he’s never looked even decent for us or on loan at Everton last season and shouldn’t even make the subs bench.

Away from home I’d much rather we’d gone with McTominay or Fred alongside Casemiro and Eriksen as the 10, also Rashford has been good on the left all season so why move him to the right ? I get Garnacho played well on Thursday so if he wanted both to play then play Rashford centrally and drop Ronaldo.

The fact we’re still in this game today is a massive stroke of luck and hopefully ETH changes things at half time as we look so open for Villa to attack, Ronaldo offers nothing anymore other than his finishing but as shown by the header today and the attempted lob on Thursday even his finishing is off now.

He's undoubtedly made some strange decisions. Rashford on the right, Ronaldo captain and VDB in CAM when we have Eriksen who looks knackered. It's ok to admit that.

It's really strange. Not only does he not want to be here, but he's been shit as well.

Who else can play on the right? Don’t say Elanga; he’d get hooked after fifty minutes.

Garnacho could have at least been tried there, over a player that's never offered anything there.

Perhaps. I imagine there’d be concern about the experience of a Garnacho-Dalot right hand side. Especially with that clown Lindelof at centre half.

He's gotten it so so wrong today. Really disappointing. Why would you not bring on Scott at half time

He obviously didn't learn to how they rallied in the first half. We had to sit in and soak up the first 5-10 minutes and build into the game.

Our game plan in going for the throat from the outset has cost us.

He's not pep that is for sure and a big issue if pep sticks around, man City are able to best sevilla 3-1 with about 3 kids thrown in the side, ten hag struggles to beat relegation fodder without his strongest starting 11

Change the midfield. Why is it so obvious to everyone except the United manager?

Defeat lays solely on Erik today. Disasterclass from start to finish. Got a lucky break and the chance to rectify things at HT and didn’t. Very disappointing.

Because he is shite every time he comes on?

Grass is always greener as they say. We’d be losing regardless.

So you don't think he should make any changes when the midfield has been run through for the entire first half?

Meh, I just don't care anymore. After 20 odd years of success under fergie, it's our turn in the doldrums. We could have the 2nd coming of pepus Christ as manager but somehow we'd still be shite. We're cursed I tell you.

He seriously starts Donny in a game like this.. The guy who never even gets a minute of football, when you have at least Scott and Fred on the bench who has played much more...

Ronaldo can't score anymore and literally offers nothing else.. He should never start.
