Is Ronaldo justified to say that he “feels betrayed” by Manchester United?

Can we actually terminate his contract? Is that an actual possibility? Cause all this screams that he's trying to get it terminated

Holy feck, what an absolute idiot. Constant disrespecting of the club and now goes on to act like a victim? Give me a fecking break with these clowns.

Isn't life just funny. Ronaldo effectively forced out RvN and now he'll be forced out in favour of the new generation and more specifically a fan of his - Garnacho.

It's the circle of football, I guess

He hasn’t been forced out.

Remember Fred's interview about vanities?
Since then we've had this, pogmentary and he who shall not be named!!

Okay after reading some more of the quotes I'll concede the criticism towards him probably is fair.

It's unbelievably narcissistic of Ronaldo to come out with this now in an attempt to remove the spotlight from Lindelof's excellent performance this evening

You just know he wanted us to lose today! He would have had the reaction of a Liverpool fan when Garnacho scored.

I hope while CR7 is stinking up the World Cup and running Portugals chances, Mendes is on the phone to all clubs trying to get a deal done for January. Hope we don’t see him again in a United shirt. It’s best for all parties. We need to replace him(Toney would be my option) and build around Rashford, Martial, Antony and Sancho (Amad to add to this next season). That’s a strong attack and young too.
I have been wanting Toney for a while and maybe his omission from the WC squad (should have gone) will tell him he has to be at a big club to really get recognition.

He doesn't realise that the club not moving forward is one of the reasons they signed him again.

Nail and head.

Tbf it's unfair to lay the blame squarely at Ole's feet. SAF called the guy to prevent him going to City, plus the added pressure of former players like Rio and Neville speaking out. Ole was put in a no-win situation with that shit. He could have (and should have) vetoed, but imagine the fecking uproar if he'd gone to City (who would've won the league anyway even with him in the team). Most fans wanted him back at the time.

I know someone in Norway who talked to Ole not long ago and asked him if he wanted Ronaldo or not. The answer was an unmistakeable ‘not’.

Getting Ronaldo in this time was a romantic and nostalgic dream, and a money move and PR show. When Ronaldo felt the coaches haven’t wanted him, and two-three others at ‘club executive level’, he’s basically affirming that Glazers and Woodward trumped Solskjær, Murtaugh and Arnold at the time. Ronaldo is a part of United’s glorious past, he os not apart of United’s future. Having accurate assesment of him is his idea of betrayal, and he has never ever set the team above himself. He really is disclosing himself now. The boy that lay crying because he missed his pen when United won the CL has not changed.

We already know all of what he's saying. Why do some fans have a need for all this negativity and toxicity? What's the point? Do you think it's easy to find buyers for Manchester United. We need to chill out and let things take its course. Having this guy causing maximum disruption is of no help to us.

I absolutely disagree we need anymore media attention. That kind of atmosphere is not sustainable.
Yeah I agree, he has said a lot of truths about the way the club is run but it has come from the wrong person and the wrong time.

His arrival destroyed confidence of few players that were on the rise, destroyed a bit of momentum Ole was building (perhaps Ole was done anyway), and closed our options to bringing someone who is actually good for us long term. The guy is going full narcissus mode. Could go out quietly but instead decided to use his popularity to take the team down. Extremely c*ntish thing to do.

Imagine - City could have had him (but I am not sure if Pep would have gone for him anyway?) and he would brought them down as well.

Why, because the club is 5th? The stadium is falling apart, the training facilities haven't been updated, the same shite owners are in charge. ETH can only do so much, but the problems are still there.
No, because of who we have in charge and how he is rebuilding the side. You can see the modern way he wants us to play when we aren’t playing Ronaldo up top.
Say what you want about the Glazers etc but if a reason given for not competing with City is because of our training ground then he’s diluting the point. Liverpool training ground isn’t impressive at all!
We’ve went out and got a modern manager who is in the middle of rebuilding the team in an elite image. Our recruitment seems to have been spot on last summer as well, we could do with a striker and a few other players but that’s part of the rebuild. Listening to an asshat talk in broad strokes designed to allow you to fill in the blanks to sympathise with him is pathetic.
feck me were 6 points behind City, ahead of Liverpool as we stand after finishing above Liverpool the season before he joined. Arsenal haven’t finished in the top 4 under Arteta as we speak so you can’t even say he’s pointing to sustained excellence. It’s horseshit and is designed to blame the club for how shot he has been this season.
If he said it last season fair enough but we’re literally at the start of that change. It doesn’t make sense on any level

Well at least there's no doubt now:

1. Ronaldo's finished at United
2. Ronaldo's a prick
3. Ronaldo's destroyed his legacy

Even if he wanted to, ten Hag can't surely have him back now. Even his most hardened fanboys (and I was firmly Team Ronaldo) can see he's done now.

Time to move on.

We look to be making steady progress under Ten Hag, still a bit to do, we've got a busy schedule after the World Cup, we can't afford the melodrama

He's not trying to get himself a move, he's not that dumb to do this knowing that he has no offers on the table for him. What he's trying to do is worse than that. He's hoping this will get the fans on his side and get ETH sacked so we'll get a coach of his choosing.

It's probably his last option and he knows that. We won't be falling for it though and he'll be in Saudi Arabia by January.
He's trying to get the club to pay him off so he can go to another club without the burden of his wage or United wanting the other side to carry some weight on the deal. There's no way he believes we'll sack our new manager to appease a 37 year old striker with as little as 7 months left on his deal.

You do realise he has actually said those things?

You do realise I don't have the mental age of ten. People are pretending to be outraged just so they can hate on a player they have been hating all season.

He came back went well for a spell but we are far from the team he thought we were and he is no longer the player that can save us

That's all that's happened here he will leave and we can go back to rebuilding and hoping that this time will be different than every other time since Fergie retired

Anyone still trying to play mental gymnastics to defend Ronaldo from now on should be instantly banned. You’re either a United fan or a Ronaldo fan. You can’t be both.

I cannot wait until the day he is finally gone from the club and we never have to talk about him again. Well done on completely destroying your legacy. Prick.

To be fair the situation with his daughter does explain the pre-season thing, and rationally or otherwise he's probably been seething about that since. Then he finds himself as a bit part player for Ten Hag and being criticised in the media nearly every week for holding the team back etc. Which for someone who's been seen as one of the best players in the world for 10+ years would be difficult to process.

Plus it doesn't help having idiots like Keane telling him he's right because they still haven't gotten over their own petty gripes with the club and are now projecting them onto Ronaldo.

Not that I'm defending him as such, but the interview is likely emotional rather than rational or calculated, and when you think of it that way it does seem a bit less bonkers. I feel a bit sorry for him as it does seem a bit like a publicly broadcast mental breakdown and it obviously isn't going to help him either.

But then also he sat in a room with Piers Morgan for 90 minutes and not only didn't punch him in the mouth, but didn't manage any better than a backhanded dig at Arsenal.
