Other United legends and stars have had similar sad and acrimonious exits like Best, Beckham, Ruud and Keane but we all end up appreciating them at the end. Some of the shit that's being said is rightly deserved, but we will be hard pressed to witness another player produce anything similar to his Ballon D'Or season for us. Whether you agree or disagree I don't care, his last 3 years at United (from 2006 to 2009) was some of the best football we'll ever see from a United player.

The evidence is pointing towards Solskjaer and the likes of Fergie, Ferdinand and Bruno would only get involved after Solskjaer had made it clear to the board that he wanted Ronaldo.
Below is a excerpt from The Athletic which clearly points to Solskjaer being the one who got the ball rolling as far as the Ronaldo signing is concerned. And once that was established with the board, it was Woodward's role to then sell the idea to Joel Glazer.

Not absolving him in anyway as I think he's a self-serving **** who wants to engineer an exit and doesn't care about the club but it seems he was disappointed by the quality and attitude of the players he found here; got the feeling that was the subtext with his reference to legends like Ruud, Keane and Giggs. Worth remembering a lot of these players collapsed to 6th place on more than one occasion and I'm constantly afraid that they just always flatter to deceive. Hopefully they use this as motivation but you never know.

Didn't say anything controversial in this part of the interview, felt bad for his family situation, other things about Ragnick and the club falling behind we already knew. I think tomorrow's where he will go after ETH will be far more controversial.

What does this have to do with anything? Its a fact, no other United player has won the Ballon D'or since he won it for us and that 2006 to 2009 period was highly successful for the club. Ronaldo is a knob and passed it, somewhat like you I suppose.
