After a while, for sure. People don't hold grudges against Keane and even absolute scum like Giggs is still adored. It just takes time
I was being a little facetious :)

Obviously he'll be more fondly remembered for the first spell!!

What does this have to do with anything? Its a fact, no other United player has won the Ballon D'or since he won it for us and that 2006 to 2009 was highly successful for the club. Ronaldo is a knob and passed it, somewhat like you I suppose.
Just to make things clear, you called me a knob?

I bet you're loving this.

Why would i believe anything coming from Ronaldo when his interview thus far has been riddled with misinformation?

Edit: i also missed the part where Ronaldo said that it was SAF's decision to bring him back to Old Trafford. Please cite where you see this to be the case.
It was right at the very beginning - I understand it wasn't all down to Sir Alex, but he certainly made the difference with a phone call. As I have said previously, his actions sometimes small (the Ronaldo call) sometimes big (picking Moyes as his successor) and sometimes somewhere in between - what exactly is this Robson/Gill/SAF think-tank actually for - keep casting a shadow over things at United.

I'm not 'loving this' well maybe a little bit*, but contrast how when Wenger finished at my club he actually finished, whereas United are doing a Liverpool and struggling to move on from the past. All this Ronaldo circus is another blast from the past still causing issues now - but I don't think anything he said tonight were grounds for dismissal, we need to see part two and specifically the ETH comments I guess.

*Whoever decided to setup a 'matchday thread' for the TalkTV interview was inspired - that made me laugh and I hope they do the same for the second leg!

To be honest, a club as big as United should be at the forefront of sports science or w/e

We're an even worse team with him in it...

Also would've avoided the playoffs if a certain someone could hit the side of a barn door
Barcelona are in the Europa League playoffs yet first in the league :houllier:

It does seem strange that Rooney has gone out of his way to publically speak about Ronaldo.

He hasn't said anything terrible but it's still odd, when you consider he's a manager, not a pundit. How many other managers are repeatedly saying Ronaldo shouldn't be in the team?

At the same time mixing to some extent socially.

I kind of get where Ronadlo is coming from there.

But Morgan phrasing it as an attack from Rooney. Come on Cristiano, take a look who is really using you here.

Keane is a bigger club legend than Ronaldo regardless of this incident though. He’s also much more likeable. And hilarious. Handsome too. Why doesn’t he have 500m followers!?
he does, they're just not there yet

Your point was and remains idiotic.

SAF backed the club when they asked for help to convince Ronaldo to join, and there is zero evidence that he doesn't back the club now. He will only make a public statement if asked to do so by the club, regardless of what you believe he should do.

I can't believe he is trying to peddle the notion that man City and pep were actually interested in him, city ain't dumb and plan well ahead, they was not going to bring in a player with short term vision and ignore setting up the purchase of haaland.

Has he done though? Or has some journo actually asked him, and then made it sound like Rooney has just blurted it out.

They should but to his point which no one can really argue against, United don't have owners who truly care about on the pitch and football related happenings.

The sugar daddy clubs have bankrolled millions into top of the line and state of the art infrastructure over the past decade or so that has left us in the dust. Even the other blue bloods of the game have invested a lot into modernizing their facilities and football business

We've had a nice meme going round in Polish and I always thought it was funny, but now it seems accurate, to be fair.

- Dad, I'm so exhausted... taking care of my little brother.
- Look, son, 230 kgs on the leg press.
- I'm hungry, dad.
- I'm so fecking handsome.

You think Rooney called up the papers and told them he wanted to talk about Cristiano

Signing Ronaldo and Haaland are not mutually exclusive things for City. It was widely reported at the time City wanted him. Hell, even a whatsapp audio of a private conversation Ronaldo was having with a friend in which he said "United and City are fighting it out" leaked.

You guys need to drop these notions that City are these all seeing - all knowing - club that would never make this move

Well he's made tv appearances and done a few interviews. He knows the question is coming. Nor does he have to answer it. He's not a pundit.

It must be odd to have a guy round your house and next thing he's on TV saying you shouldn't be in the team.

So he was going to go to City. Yep, he certainly loves United so much.

Under no circumstances should we have gone near him knowing that. We have literally brought this on ourselves. Just get rid of him and bring in about 3 players that actually want to be here with the salary we'd save.

I think he's made arrangements to do interviews, knowing these sorts of questions would come.

At least three times to my knowledge.

It's strange from a manager. Can you think of another manager doing this?

Whilst at the same time calling round Ronaldo's house.

I think anyone in Ronaldo's shoes would be wondering what's going on there.

United are one of the few clubs that have their own medical-medical science center, the other clubs are the other giants. And none of them are at the forefront of sports science, not even the best american sport franchises are at the forefront. The leading facilities and professionals are scattered around the world in hospitals and private medical clinics.

If you don't mind, what is your take on that what we're witnessing here (and is leading folks to pretend CR's a traitor to the club) is in fact the very same thing:
that he (CR) made "a public statement [if] asked to do so by the club, regardless of what you believe he should do"?

what does a player have to do to be sacked under "gross misconduct" if this isn't what is ? sitting outside Old trafford smoking dope ?

"Gross misconduct has the effect of causing damage to the organisation or its reputation,(tick) or irreparably breaking trust and confidence in the employer/employee relationship (tick)" any guys out the knowledge that i clearly don't.

Jeremy Kyle also has a show on TalkTV, oh boy it's like a channel full of twats.
6am-1pm: "Hitler wasn't that bad, he had some good points, like fascism and genocide but the woke left won't let us say that

1pm-4pm: I have no clue who this bloke is

4pm-7pm: I was 90% sure she died in 2018? What's she doing on the tele?

7pm-8pm: "I HAVE NO DISCERNIBLE SKILLSET OR CHARISMA BUT I CAN TALK LOUDLY AT PEOPLE AND TELL THEM THEY'RE BAD PEOPLE"

8pm-9pm: King of the cnuts Power Hour: "But now I say whatever I want.... just like I have for the entirety of my life"

9pm-10pm: Loose women, for people who thing Nigel Farage is a top bloke

Ooh yes I wonder why Rooney one of the biggest English football players of all time and former high profile team mate of Ronaldo was asked questions about him. Blimey some thick people out there, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise why Rooney is being asked questions on Ronaldo and giving his opinion. Good lord.

On every question. But in the end Ronaldo is an adult who has been in the game for decades. He has no excuse.
I don't sign a legal document because the agent helping me out said "allz well"
As English is not Ronaldo’s first language, he is definitely falling for Morgan’s tricks. If this was in Portuguese, Ronaldo would work out he’s being set up be that conniving prick!

This isn't an interview. No single pushback from Piers. Waste of my time.
