The acolytes on social media all saying 'apart from ETH stuff, nothing wrong' fecking hell. He just thinks he's better than everyone else, we've seen these people in all walks of life who think they don't have to do the small stuff because someone else will.

I think what we’ve witnessed is one of the greatest players ever coming to the end and not quite being able to comprehend it, it was always going to have to end somewhere and it probably hurts a lot and he can’t just come to terms with it. I do think he’s a bit thin skinned but he’s probably had things go so well for him for so long this is the first bit of actual real trouble he’s faced and as is the nature of the game it’s a brutal end for him.

The brushing off the ETH disrespect, like its a small whoopsie is what gets me

Its hilarious they have been sensationalising the interview all week and there was nothing in there really that United fans didn't already know and/or hypothise. At any rate im glad it means this chapter can be closed now, certainly have respect for the player he was but he is problematic on and off the pitch for us right now and this has given ETH a get out clause with the fans, the club and the press, really nobody at the club will want him back after January.

I don’t really think ETH had much of a choice
Continuing playing Ronaldo = Utd losing games = ETH getting sacked
Utd are a better team without Ronaldo and so will Portugal

He was happy to stay, but the media said nobody was interested in him. So that made him want away. Absolute Jibberish

I always knew he was delusional...many of the best are. Thats how they always stay on top and get through adversity. They never doubt themselves.

But this is almost a person with almost no grasp of reality. Thats a whole other pathology and much less healthy emotionally. Its sad and a little shocking...

Yes, he had made up his mind to stay. But clubs kept asking about him and many club directors had to go public and say they don't want Cristiano.

But though he had made up his mind and Mendes wasn't in market at all, he let the executives to think that he was lying about his time off. He refused to give out a statement through his agent that they were not looking to move. Instead they let the rumous go on, until Piers Morgan turned up
It doesn’t add up for me — if he didn’t request a transfer, if Mendes weren't out there looking for new clubs, if teams were making offers for Ronaldo but he didn’t want to leave Manchester — is not that a big deal?

If that was the case, I think this club should have corrected all reports. It has definitely been spinned like — he wanted out, nobody wanted him, now he is stuck here. How can we betray him when he asked out?

Honestly, I have a really hard time believing that the above is the case, that it is true.

So how long till he leaves.

Insulted ETH and the Glazers, he's never coming back to Manchester again. Let's hope we end this by the time the season restarts so we don't have to deal with the drama.

In response to yesterday's comment about Citeh's purported interest, they fed one of their journos this

Implying our best goalscorer of all time is a rat. He didnt directly say it. And Wazza was man enough to admit there is not a footballer (except Messi) that really wasn't jelaous of him.
Wow. I couldn't stomach the first three minutes of the interview and I really dont know if I could go through the whole ordeal.

The only thing I can say in his defence is still his poor english that can be viewed differently. But he is a smart prick with a big ego and nasty intentions and he has learned how to conduct himself in this situations and especially in a set up interview like this one.

City pulled out when they realised he was going to choose United. That's not exactly new news.....

Ronaldo calls Rooney a rat. Piers invente a scenario where Rooney "hates" Ronaldo. What a pair of narcissistic cretins.

He'll probably issue a retraction of 'rats' tomorrow saying it was lost in translation and he meant to say 'lads'.

Read through a shedload of the quotes. Not exactly as scandalous as relayed is it?
It was depicted as being slating everyone and everything about the club and an absolute no go to every return.
