How big do you lot think Spurs are?

As if Nagelsmann would entertain managing a team like Spurs after managing Bayern and getting sacked with an amazing win record just because a couple of people at the club didn't like him.

They're going to go all in for Frank or pick up Potter at the end of the season.
As per 2021, Tottenham is the 10th biggest football club in the world.

Nagelsmanns record at Bayern is par for the course for anyone that has managed Bayern in recent history.

Still think he's a world class manager but his personal issues this season have ultimately made Spurs descend into chaos. Will probably do well wherever he lands next.

If you were getting Nagelsmann you’d have got him now. Waiting until the summer, I think you’ve already been turned down (if pursued). He’s Madrid bound I think.
Nah I reckon nagelsman will want a short break. I doubt most managers will want to start a job with 8 games left. This is spurs waiting (as we did) until their target is available

I really think you are overating Nagelsmann, who is just the German Vllas Boas atm, in the sense that Bayern have so many structural and financial advantage over their most direct competitors… even hiring Donald Duck or WonderWoman for a season and half, they would not do worse than just another Bundes medal + CL qfinals?

Hes clearly rated for his work before Bayern though

Yeah, my point was: he is a perfect fit for Spurs right now in terms of stature in the game… just as Villas Boas 10 years ago after his impressive run at Porto and a controversial stint at Chelsea?

It's fecking laughable.

Anyone with half an ounce of foresight could see this ending like this. He does this everywhere when things don't go his way, falls out the players, the club, the owners etc.. and they just have to get rid of him because he's such a pain in the hole.

He might be ok for a bit if you are almost guaranteed to win the league, like Celtic or PSG, but eventually he'll still find something to fall out with somebody over.
He is poor man's Mourinho. Someone who you hire for short term trophies.
But he is far worse. Even more defensive, far more toxic and because he plays 343 after him you need complete overhaul (unless you go again for 343 manager).
And, despite people will say different, Jose has his funny moments. At least when things are going well. This guy is just depressing whole fecking time.

Took long enough seemed like he was trying to get the sack for the best part of a year.

AVB wasn't good at Chelsea, you can't say the same for Nagelsmann at Bayern, it's a poor comparison

Spurs will do anyway regardless, they've got about 10 fullbacks / wingbacks and half of them are out on loan.

Just can’t see Spurs getting Nagelsmann, especially with Kane leaving at latest in 2024. It’s a very difficult project to take on now.

Someone like Frank maybe might be a good choice of replacement.

Big enough to have both Conte and Mourinho as our last two managers? You know the same Mourinho that was Utd manager not long ago.
There’s only two points in a managers career where they would consider a job at Tottenham.

Once on the way up, and once on the way down. Guess where those two fit?

Big enough for Conte and Mourinho.

Ancelotti was literally at Everton like 2 seasons ago.

I was one of those who thought we missed the boat not getting him at Utd but you can guarantee this would have been our exact situation if we had.
Thank god we didn't make a mess of it for once.

Do the career math on never managing top flight again after two years at Tottenham
They don’t think like that managers, players, agents ££££

There‘s very few managers who would turn down £15m per year ……it’s all about greed.

A premier league club with top rate facilities and stadium, bags of potential and a decent squad if managed right ... no way is Nagelsmann to big for Spurs, in my mind it's a great fit for both.
If the cheese room doesn't convince Nagelsmann then nothing will!

Not sure what’s your point here… are you implying he is better or worse than same age, same spot Villas Boas of 2012?

Which makes Poch’s avoid-any-job posture even weirder, to be honest… time goes and fresher flavors show up!

Not that it was me who made the post but I would say Nagelsmann certainly has better pedigree

No way, he wants instant success, not a bunch of kids. He'd be complaining about not getting the players he wants.

Top Italian clubs will always be interested in him and Real Madrid also possible if Ancelotti goes to Brazil.
He's pretty much burned his bridges in Italy. He left Inter on bad terms and I doubt he'd touch Juventus in their current state so I can't see where else he ends up there. I don't see the Madrid one happening either.

He'll have to make some concessions in his next job. Chelsea have ready money available and I'm sure Conte would be prepared to work with most of your players. There might be some conflict between him and the hierarchy in terms of which signings he prioritises, but I don't think it's unworkable if you finish 10th and Boehly has a change of heart on Potter.

There are so many players in the Chelsea squad that it can pretty much be moulded in whichever way the next manager sees fit. Conte would probably fixate on the ones like Lukaku and Sterling, which might not align with what the fans want, but that still seems less fanciful to me than a return to Italy next season.

I'm quite obviously saying Nagelsmann is in a better position than AVB after the Chelsea sacking

At the end of your career maybe not, but at the start of your career it would be silly to take a quick payday only to find yourself managing in France or Portugal in two seasons time because of, well, Tottenham...

Tuchel was upset that Conte wouldn’t make eye contact when shaking hands.
Yeah but more than that, Tuchel was fired up and fuming about the awful refereeing that cost us the game right at the death. So he took it out on Conte
