German Football 22/23 | 2. Bundesliga returns | Hamburg vs Schalke 20:30 |

He's so smug, bet he's in tears now.
The post didn’t even make sense in the first place. Just a poor attempt at trying to be funny. This is club level football. And taking into account English clubs’ record against German clubs in finals playing even an injured Bellingham may have been the better option.

Serious question, has any team managed this in any of Europe’s mainstream leagues? I mean excluding the likes of Cyprus, Moldova, etc.

Not a mainstream league but Salzburg have won 10 in a row.

Sad for Haller, Guerreiro, Adeyemi and Bellingham, but it's ok, next year they'll be champions with Bayern.

Im so done, my heart cant take this anymore

Im so happy right now

In theory the league should be the exemplar for the rest of Europe with it's ownership rules, but 11 in a row doesn't leave it a leg to stand on
Its ownership rules only sound good in theory. In reality it's made it easy for the club with the largest financial advantage to dominate and has discouraged any wealthy owners to buy a Bundesliga club due to the lack of control they'd have. It's a failing model.

Was depressing watching that second half.

What a pointless league.
100%

If Bayern wins with 20 more points it's boring, if it's decided on the last 5 minutes it's a crap league.

They can't do it right for some. Hope we to meet you guys in the CL than you prove that you gonna spank our ass.
Statement would have some substance, if Dortmund came close to Bayern because they would have been so good. But they weren't. It was nothing else then Bayern imploding in the middle of the season. And yet, here we are because Dortmund isn't able to win a game of football at home to 9th place Mainz. Mainz! This isn't a dig at Bayern (not this time), this is a dig at the Bundesliga. Watching and celebrating how their product gets worse and worse. Hopefully, they'll remember to be happy about having the 50+1 rule, making sure that the league stays as pointless as it is cause it cements the status quo with Bayern towering above everybody else. But also, not their fault alone, that teams like Dortmund, Leverkusen, Frankfurt or Wolfsburg are seemingly incapable on building something even if they have an abundance of time to do it. Leipzig of all people is the team, that manages to do it alone. 50+1 hooray.

How the feck can you not beat Mainz at home. The same Mainz that got done 4-1 by Stuttgart a week ago. Absolutely pathetic by Dortmund

Do they have many trophy replicas? How come the trophy was at Koln instead of Dortmund who were first going into the final round?
The real trophy was in Dortmund. They took a replica to Köln.

That's usually how it works in most leagues in these situations. Although there was one memorable instance in Hungary where the league trophy was quickly transported by helicopter while the final day was underway.

It was funny seeing the stewards at Dortmund's stadium stand in anticipation of their fans running onto the field, and then quitely sat back down after Musiala scored.

But seriously, was laughing for 90 minutes seeing Dortmund chock this but felt bad after the final whistle seeing their players cry. Heartbreaking for them. The title was lost with that horrendous collapse versus Stuttgart. Had they first not conceded twice to a relegation team that was down to 10 men, and then also just defended for 2 minutes in stoppage time, they would've won the title.

If Dortmund are serious about challenging next season, the first thing they'd do is sack Terzic. The guy is nowhere near a top level manager, the equivalent of Dortmund's Ole, just vibes and no tactics.

We’d beat you, you ain’t nothing special.

While the Stuttgart result was laughably bad, there's absolutely no excuse for not beating Mainz at home

Both teams barely averaged over 2 points a game, it was a battle between two utterly mediocre teams.

He could have prevented the 1st goal for Mainz. He missed a penalty and missed another 97% in the 2nd half. He could have won Dortmund the title himself.

A really powerful football nation with one the most powerful economies and tons of fans, and yet they can’t make an interesting league.

Well that's disappointing. I had hoped Dortmund could have won it.

I seem to have touched a nerve. The standard is poor. The only difference this year is that Bayern followed suit.

What a heartbreaker for Dortmund and their fans. I used to be a big fan of Bayern Munich. But, they have been so dominant for so long that the competition has lost any meaning. So, I was really hoping they would lose the title this year.

German football now officially turd.
Both teams at the top were summarized in their current shitness today, none of them deserve a medal for a season full of spineless performances in crucial moments.

This last matchday had plenty of drama and more twists than the spine of a hedgehog flattened on the highway. It was only interesting because the teams at the top have become equally atrocious.

Incompetence at almost all clubs and Bayern's economic power advantage will make sure it's not going to change in the next 20 years.

TBF beyond the choking title race there were loads of interesting stories. Union Berlin making CL is incredible, basically same as Brentford making CL so shows the achievement although personally wanted Freiburg to get as that would've been another great achievement by Christian Streich. Still Europa league again shows how well run Freiburg generally are.

And Bundesliga has become a very unforgiving league for any big club that is shambolically run. Schalke and Stuttgart have effectively become yo yo clubs which would've been incredible to think 20 years ago when both were top 6 regulars and Hertha Berlin been chaotic last few years. If Hamburg don't choke yet again and actually get promoted they'll probably struggle to not be bottom 3 next season.

I do think there is plenty of good still in Bundesliga with how certain teams innovate and give chances to young players and coaches but it is suffering from stigma of Bayern winning league even on autopilot.

Everyone knew Dortmund would bottle it.

The original Meisterschale was at Dortmund. Bayern Munich celebrated with a replica. Although, you'd expect the German FA to know better...
Cheers guys.

I am going to say this in my native tongue because english doesn't quite capture the nuance

Dortmund: ma andate a cagare. Siete un club inutile

Absolutely, Union and Freiburg are THE shining examples of how to run clubs and make the most out of your financial possibilities.
