I was reading that Arsenal cb William Saliba is asking for alot of money and noticed that he is contract free next year. I think we should try to pinch him because he'd be an excellent person to have in our defence and could competently fill the shoes for Varane. Apparently he is asking for alot of money and is currently on £40k pw. We should offer him a big contract via his agent to get him out of Arsenal and plan for him to come in next year.

It made me wonder who else is in the final year of contract and would be an immense upgrade to that area of our team?. Be great if we can get a few players in this way to weaken our rivals as well.

He's wanted by PSG quite heavily I think. If he leaves Arsenal I wouldn't be surprised to see him land there.

Saliba and Arsenal would both be silly not to get that done and I’m sure it will. He was very good this season and deserves to be paid accordingly, but also he sees the trajectory of that team and it wouldn’t be ideal to move on just now.

That said the pull of Madrid/PSG or somewhere else may already be there.

If they don't pay him what he wants, they are fecking bonkers. He's their best CB by miles and look how they fell apart without him. He would also sew up their CB position for close to a decade.

I wanted us to go for him when he was out of favour at Arsenal, I don't think we need to be splashing big money on someone like him now with other pressing issues.

I read that Arsenal offered him 120k P/W but his agent is demanding alot more.

The way Arsenal fans have spoken about him this season with statements like "Best ever U21 CB ever", Its no surprise he wants to be paid like the best CB. Considering Saka is about to get a massive pay rise.

Arsenal has an option to extend it to 2025.

Apparently the option was to 2024 and they’ve already triggered it.
Ah okay, cheers. Arsenal never publish the exact details of contracts so it's a bit tricky. It's always just "a long-term contract".

We should offer him Harry Maguire wages when he is moved on. I think there is a deal to be done here if we put pressure on Arsenal by offering him a serious contract next year.

Wasn’t he disgruntled by the way he was treated when he first came, thought he’d be playing then farmed out?

Would be hilarious if he did go.

PSG is all over him, also Real Madrid are following his situation. We can absolutely provoke them and offer him Maguires wager if we get rid of him, has to be at least 240k, which is the double amount that Arsenal is offering.

Realistically, I´m hopping PSG offers him 300k and that he joins them for free. Ramos will probably leave PSG next year, but they still have Marquinhos, Kimbempe and probably also Skrinier joining this summer. Real Madrid will have Alaba, Militao, Rudiger etc etc...

Fabrizio rejected the rumours we offered him 120k per week. There is no way we would have done that, the originating rumours were from The Sun. Dont underestimate our ability to get this deal done, it will be tough, but there is a genuine pathway to him renewing and the odds for that happening are higher than him leaving. We paid big contracts to Ozil and PEA to keep them, when we want to do a deal we can really dig deep.

If Saliba decides he wants to leave, its likely as he wants to leave England all together. Therefore I would forget any chance of United signing him.

I think Saliba is already world class. Arsenal probably win the league if he doesn't get injured. Him and Martinez would be an incredible CB partnership.

Madrid and Barcelona will come sniffing, Alaba and Nacho aren't getting any younger and Barcelona could use a CB.

PSG is obviously another landing spot, they will want to bring a big French talent back to them. I don't think Arsenal will be able to compete financially or from a prestige standpoint.

I think he's had his head turned by PSG already.

I read on reddit that the loans were due to him being home sick as he lost both parents, poor guy. So it wouldn't surprise me if he left for PSG and then in his prime moved to Real/Barca.
